Primo Italian American Cuisine
Primo sure does live up to it's name!
PRIMO(meaning “The Best” in Italian) is our interpretation of the marriage of a classic American steakhouse and a signature Italian restaurant.
Replete with soaring ceilings, Italian marble, and custom furniture, PRIMO's grand and dramatic dining instantly sets a luxurious yet comfortable tone. The atmosphere is rivaled only by the menu, which is composed of both Prime and Grass Fed steaks, chops, and classic Italian dishes inspired by the vast regions of Italy. PRIMO's menu is both familiar and sophisticated, and complimented perfectly by our 100+ bottle wine list.
Food was excellent, everyone at our table wants to come back. Danielle, our server, was right on top of things checking back often and we weren’t hurried at all. The drinks aren’t cheap but generous pours and they have a good selection of premium brands.
It was a little noisy, we were between 2 groups, but conversation worked.
They have something screwy in their seating system. Last time they had to move us after seating because they had already promised that booth to another party. This time, they couldn’t find a table for 6 after leaving the front and redirected us to the bar. After we asked about an empty table with 6 seats at it, the hostess checked with someone else and seated us there. It all worked but it’s strange.
our first time at this restaurant, and it was great. started off with goat cheese appetizer which was delicious. we had the lasagna, red pepper ravioli, and the kansas city strip steak and new york strip steak. food was very tasty and good sized portions. service was very attentive and kept our water and iced teas filled. really cannot say anything bad about the experience, would definitely come here again. the desserts were good but not great, the berry cheesecake and banana nutella tiramisu. we liked the desserts but they were nothing special. the pasta and steaks were way above average.
Could not hear each other over the noise.
Food was good. Waiter could use more training.
Ie. ordered bottle and but did not give us the taste prior to full pour, we ordered the prix fixe, and somehow assumed we didn’t want the appetizer then brought after dinner entree. Removed bread plates before other items were served, gave us his pocket notebook to read the dessert menu. He has a pleasant personality but needs more training to meet the Primo standards I have experienced on other visits.
I go to Primo's Sunday Brunch about once a month. The food is good. The omelet/carved beef station is the highlight. However, I offer these suggestions for improvement.
1. The fresh baked cinnamon rolls are an excellent idea but don't serve them until you bring the coffee. Once they cool they are as hard as rocks and become inedible. Eliminate the sickly-sweet strawberry coating.
2. Vary the hot and cold food offerings. They are always the same. Boring.
3. Offer high-quality, freshly-baked breads, rolls, bagels and desserts. Current offerings are sub-par. The desserts appear to come from a local grocery chain.
4. Include coffee in the basic price even if you have to raise the price. $4.00 a cup on top of the base price is ridiculous and sort of insulting. And, have someone refill the cups regularly.
5. Make sure the fruit is ripe.
Primo's Sunday Brunch is good but with a little more imagination, dedication and care, it could be outstanding, become a go-to destination in Lake County, and do fabulously well.
Had dinner with friends on NYE. Food was amazing, management was attentive. Highly reccommend.
Came here for New Year's Eve, good food and service, and they had a live DJ which was fun
The first thing which strikes you is the hustle and bustle of the staff. They are constantly in motion delivering food, cleaning tables, or just doing what needs to be done. You don't have a single wait-person - you have a team. Their meatball appetizer is monstrous: if you order one you may want to consider a smaller dinner entree. The planked salmon and halibut dishes are exquisite. The creamed corn brulee is very tasty and an interesting additional to your meal. And the cinnamon coated beignets on a tree with dipping sauces is a great way to mark the end of your meal. It's a little off the beaten path but easy to get to and worth the effort.
Went to an early dinner on New Year’s Eve. Abbreviated but regular menu. Service was fantastic as was the food. Will go back again.
I wish the chicken was real grilled chicken instead of reheated from frozen. Also wines are overpriced unless you go on a Wednesday. 6oz fillet was thin but cooked properly. Since it’s a fancier restaurant, I was hoping the fillet steak was a thicker cut.
It was a beautiful evening with delicious food and wonderful service.
The Food and Service was very good overall. Only minor issue was that we had a Birthday Cake and were not offered any Coffee or Tea, and before I could inquire regarding, I was brought the bill, making us feel rushed. We did then finally got some beverages.
Service and food wonderful! Even though, we asked for a quiet table, it was hard to hear everyone.a
Always enjoy this place. Great service and some unique menu items. I only wish it was a bit closer to home.
Despite of the great food, the Americans need to know that “risotto” needs to be cooked with “Arborio rice”!!!!! 🙄
We have eaten here many times and had a great experience however on Christmas Eve we had a horrible experience . they were late seating us for a reservation (the waiter didn’t take our order until 45 min past our reservation time),the service was extremely slow and not very attentive ,the restaurant was ccold . the only good thing was ,as usual ,the food was excellent
We had a reservation on Christmas Eve and almost didn’t get a table because it was obvious they overbooked. Since we have had eaten there many times before and had high expectations, we were immediately disappointed. They put us in a high top behind the bar by a kitchen door so there was constant traffic and zero ambience. Our server was assigned to too many tables and never brought us a gluten free menu so I went to the front to get it myself. He finally came to take our drink order so we decided to place our food order right away. My husband was told they were out of the pork chop. It was only 6:45pm. It took another 20 min to get our wine and we never got my girls’ soda so being by the bar I went up and got them myself. When the waiter came over he was embarrassed and apologized. But he was coming over to tell us that they were not offering a Caesar salad tonight! It was on the gluten free menu so we didn’t know there was a special holiday menu. My daughter then had to order chicken picatta. Our meal arrived without her meal and now we were getting close to church time. My salmon had no seasoning. Her chicken arrived when we were finished. She didn’t care for it and I felt it was overly lemon flavored. The waiter showed up with a 2nd chicken picatta just in case the first didn’t arrive. He said we could take it home free. I’m so disappointed bc we had to pay inflated city prices for a terrible experience. Management is to blame for overbooking and under staffing. We were late for church at 8pm even though we had a 6:15 reservation. I will not go back to Primo again as there are better, lower priced options in the area.
Great service, great food and great atmosphere! Definitely plan to go again.
Primo was not prepared for a holiday. They were understaffed. The meal took almost an hour to come out. The manager seemed to be yelling at the staff as opposed to helping. You could hear other patrons complaining at their tables as well and when I went to the restroom I could hear the manager complaining to the hostesses about guests that were not satisfied. It made me not want to share my feelings at all. The food was okay but not as good as normal. It was quite disappointing that they were so understaffed for Christmas Eve. Our dinner took about 1 hour longer than our normal dining experience.
We’ve been to Primo a bunch of times with just the two of us, my wife and I. Tonight we wanted to share Primo with our 3 kids (18, 13, 10) for Christmas Eve since our experiences in the past have been truly exceptional.
Tonight, we are more than disappointed:
-felt incredibly rushed (from sit down to dinner finished about 30 mins)
-2 appetizers were luke warm at best
-entrees were served WAY before we finished our appetizers
-did not receive a salad I ordered
-water not refreshed at all/ post entree delivery
After entrees were finished, we sat with dirty dishes and unfilled drinks for a uncomfortable amount of time - probably 10 to 15 minutes. Were not offered dessert or any after dinner refreshments.
$300 and NOT happy about this experience at all.
The ambience was incredible. The menu was a bit pricey but the food was amazing. The service was extremely slow, much help needed in that area.
It was our anniversary and we had Sunday brunch. Food was not good and definitely not worth the price. For $25 per person selection was not good and not as described on their website. For the price I would expect coffee, tea or juice be included but it isn’t. I could easily get a better brunch with drinks included for that price. Very disappointed. Service was good and the restaurant has nice ambience but food not so good.
Had dinner Monday evening with friends. Our server, Marco, was fantastic! All of the courses were delicious!
We experienced a beautiful night to remember. I am happy I choose Primo to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you for the great Service! We will surely come back! 😘
This Restaurant Was So Beautiful, The Food Was Really Good, And The Staff Was Helpful And Polite.
Had a reservation but they were 20 minutes behind, out of at least 4 menu items as we selected that we know of had waiter confusion previous experience here was excellent will have to reconsider next time
Always a winner
Very good food & service.
Chicken Parm was terrific
Beignet tree desert was amazing.
Nice deep wine list.
Just had a wonderful time!!! Recommend this place to all my friends!!!
Went there on a Monday at lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. Got there with only one other party at another booth. Service was excellent at first, and the food was also good. Then, a group came in the back room for a holiday party and we were then completely ignored. No drink refills, no one available to help me plan a mini dessert surprise. Finally I went up to the bar and had to ask the host and another server gave me dessert menu. He then disappeared and our original server was again MIA. By this time, we had to leave as too much time had passed. We didn't have time to have dessert and I was embarrassed for suggesting the place.
Overall really great experience.
We had a table of 10 adults. We were seated promptly, greeted, and had a drink order in. The flow of the meal was good— not rushed but not too drawn out. Our dinner was just over 2 hours from drinks, apps/salad, dinner, another round of drinks, and dessert.
The only real downside was figuring the bill. I had contacted them prior to our arrival and was told to just tell the waiter we would like separate checks. When we asked, the waiter said we would figure it out at the end. This was a bit difficult because the bill was not itemized very well. Not a deal breaker— but just a bit of a pain
On a positive note, the manager checked in on us and offered a large table near the lounge after our meal to enjoy the live music AND they didn’t add gratuity automatically.
I believe we all tip 20-25% but I always find it somewhat insulting when restaurants add it to large parties... especially when we are all 35-40 year old adults.
I believe everyone enjoyed their meals, from chicken piccata and rigatoni to scallops and surf/turf.
The atmosphere is modern. The volume level was medium range— loud enough that I didn’t feel like our talking and laughing was disruptive but quiet enough to still have conversation across a large round table of 10
A birthday party. Food was slow and when arrived tasted like sitting under heat lights. I usually like food but will not book for a large party again
Our second time to Primo and it was even better than the 1st! LOVED the Braised Pear Ravioli and can't wait to go back for more. Excellent service, too!
Fantastic service. 4 people in party. One dinner wasn’t that good- the chicken thighs. Atmosphere was great.
Went to Primo for a business dinner... all were very impressed!
Hidden gem. Literally tucked down a side street but worth the drive. Everything was excellent from the service to the food.
Everything was so nice, they just need to clean up the floors in the ladies room a bit.
This restaurant is one of our favorites! Creative and delicious specials, wonderful wine selection and fantastic people who create and carry out a memorable dining experience.
Good food! Recommend
