101 Brasserie & Bar
Very good, staff friendly and helpful. Food was good quality and nice. Atmosphere was pleasant and noise level was very good quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation, even though it was busy. I read some comments here about soggy toast but that wasn't our experience at all. Our total bill was above £60.
Thank you Peter
Amazing food and the staff were very helpful and friendly with us and always attentive would definitely go again, thank you.
Food was lovely, we went at 7.30 and was the only ones in there at the time so was quiet but even when it started to fill up later was a great atmosphere and staff are very good.
We had afternoon tea.The service was excellent as were the cakes but the sandwiches were a tad dissapointing. The coffee was also week
We had a sharing plate of tapas some were really good some were not good 😕
We went for afternoon tea and the sandwiches were not amazing, they felt slightly stale and the cakes very soggy. Luckily I was using a voucher as I would not have liked to have paid full price for that quality compared to what else is on offer in town.
This has the ability to be great as the building is a great size, however things let it down.
Mainly the service... we arrived for a two course meal with free glass of wine. This was from a voucher as a gift from a friend.
We had to wait to be served for a drink, this wasnt because it was busy.
Once we had a drink and sat down we returned for our table, there was two people behind the bar and they both walked off to do other things. Collecting glasses whilst people wait isn't what I class as good customer service.
The starters were good, halloumi and salt beets definitely recommend.
We both had burgers which looked ok, more like a wetherspoons meal, no garnish on plates.
We asked for our wine with the meal, I had to go and ask for it as my partner had nearly finished his meal. Not very impressed.
There was only t two other tables in at the same point so couldn't understand the delay.
Wont be returning
Allow plenty of time and you will have a lovely lunch here. The food is good, there is a nice selection of drinks, waiters/waitresses all very pleasant.
I received the group on voucher as a gift, so was really looking forward to going for afternoon tea to celebrate my sisters birthday. What a let down. there was a toaster left out filthy next to our table. Staff didn't want to be there (although they were lovely when talking to us,) No one asked if we were vegetarian etc. I asked what teas they have and a lady brought over a box and said 'there's some in there, have a look' so i felt awkward and just selected normal, she didn't even ask my sister. Had to ask for my sisters prosecco, No music on, sat by a door that was broken and staff and customers kept banging shut and moving the metal arm on the top up and down. Sandwiches were rock hard, the watercress on top was pathetic. Cakes were nice and so was the scone. Its clear to me that the hotel has gone down in standards as everything seemed to be budget. There was only 3 tables in and i understand why. I wouldn't return again.
Good food and ambience but forgot one of our tapas for the starter and also forgot a pudding. Otherwise v nice.
Booked afternoon tea for myself and my daughter as we were having a weekend away in Manchester. My scone was dreadful quality and I had to leave it, my daughter had gluten free scone which we thought had been microwaved as it was very hot and was not very nice, my fruit tart fell to pieces as I tried to pick it up, the pastry was very soggy. I left the rest of the food. All in all it wasn't the pleasant afternoon I had envisaged. I would not go again or recommend it.
Lovely staff , really nice afternoon for a special occasion and the afternoon tea was lovely 🤗
