    Terrible service! We booked online for dinner on the deck - at no point during this process were we informed that the deck only had a limited snack menu. We arrived at 5.45pm - the place was empty. We asked if we could experience the full dinner menu on the deck or if we could sit at one of the available bar tables 3-4m away from the formal dining area. We were told no. Considering we were there, wanting to spend more money with them than snacks, and the place was empty this seems like very poor business management and an appalling attitude to providing the welcoming hospitality that you would expect from a high end venue. We then went to reception to ask if they could suggest somewhere else for dinner. The answer was no. Well trained hospitality staff understand service provision and looking after customers. Ideally staff know the local hospitality scene and someone who knows how to provide good service would have rung and made a booking for us. Never going back. On the upside we managed to make a last minute booking with Herd Bar and Grill in Healesville who squeezed us in, provided wonderful service and a fabulous meal.

    My new favourite in the Yarra Valley Great service, food, wine and ambience Sarah was lovely and looked after us Food was amazing It has a nice cosy feel about it Definitely will be back Next time I would love to stay in the accommodation

    Booked a late lunch a month before travelling and had 2 reminders to confirm from the restaurant- to turn up at the booked time and find the kitchen closed an hour before our booking!

I understand how frustrating it would have been to plan your day around a late lunch booking and arrive expecting a full lunch service. To clarify, our set lunch menu is not available Monday to Wednesday. Your reservation was for our grazing menu, which is available in the afternoon and is intended as a lighter grazing-style offering rather than a traditional lunch. We apologise for the misunderstanding. We are reviewing how this information is presented to ensure expectations are clearer for future guests. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    We booked lunch at 1pm and arrived early to check out some of the available wines to have with our meal. The tasting room was fully occupied, so wandered over to the bar and asked if we could look at the wine list I wanted to try the pinot noir and my partner wanted to taste the Merlot. the bar staff allowed us to sample both wines and we purchased a glass of the pinot noir and a cab sauv and went out on the deck. The views are great sitting in the sunshine. The food was good, although my pasta was a bit ought , but the chicken breast and pasta sauce was really good. My partners Barramundi was excellent and the sweets were great. The wine we ordered wine our meals was good, with the added bonus they allowed you to take home the win in a bag that you didn't finish. Really enjoyable experience.
