Fun fact: The location of the 2920 RoadHouse was once known as New Kentucky Township and the turning point in the birth of Texas!
Great place, just need to ask to sit away from the band if you want to talk to each other.
Lights upstairs are too many and too bright. The room lights need to be dimmed in the evening.
Service was slow, food was mediocre, I order the chopped stake and only flavor was salt, way too much salt, my son and husband ordered the NY strip, and it was hard and flavorless again all you could taste was the salt on it.
We attended the Wayne Toups concert at the 2920 Roadhouse. The night started off nice and enjoyable and the concert was amazing. The more people that came in, the less we enjoyed ourselves. All in all, the place was great, but we honestly feel the owner underestimated the crowd and therefore he did not have enough help. Our waitress took off several times and was nowhere to be found for long periods of time.
Will give it one more try.
Son ordered chicken fried steak but received chicken fried chicken.
I ordered mashed potatos for side and received greenbeans.
Kelly (owner) came over and talked to us, super nice and welcoming. We plan on going back and use the patio. Great Place!
We have been dining here for the past 1 1.2 years on and off and unfortunately feel that the quality and quantity of the food has declined but the prices have all increased. We hope that quality of the food will improve or we will stop dining there.
Celebrated a Birthday with family. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The owner was out visiting. Food was great. Enjoyed the gas fire pits on the patio. Will definitely return !
We love this place and try to go here twice a week.
Loved the setting! We sat outdoors and enjoyed the weather and the music. Our only complaint was the service was slow and our appetizer was served to the wrong table - but in her defense, the waitress was working many tables. We would definitely go back and try some of the other intriguing food options.
They have 2 separate menus which I was not aware of until we were seated on the deck. The deck menu is very limited and more bar food. I was disappointed in the selection but it was such lovely night and the deck was quite nice so we stayed put. I ordered fried catfish tacos and they were served lukewarm. My husband has pulled pork tacos which he enjoyed.
The live music was amazing and the atmosphere fun. I was surprised to see a number of employees inside not wearing masks including the hostess. I would go back but probably just for drinks and the music.
Great place to hang out and listen to live music! Wait staff was very attentive!
Very good food. Service and ambiance was great. Looking forward to catching a meal and a live show.
The Dr Pepper was good, but that was about all that was good
We were pretty disappointed. The service was very slow. We were seated next to the back door and the bar with two small children. The food was just ok and the prices were fairly steep for the quality. Would be willing to try again but wasn’t the experience we were expecting.
Good food. Good service. Great place for a big party or event. Secluded location away from the busy part of town.
Dinner inside the restaurant was very good. The live music show on the huge outdoor deck was fantastic.
Roadhouse 2920 was awesome!! We sat at the bar and Kimbo served us. She was busy but I never had an empty beer. Very attentive!! Ordered some buffalo chicken egg rolls which were outstanding. Then the chef Larry came out and asked how things were. Very nice !! We asked him for his suggestion for dinner. He suggested the prime halal ny strip. WOW !! Incredible and great price . The owner Kelly also stopped by a few times to say hello and make sure everything was perfect. Great stuff. Great service and incredible atmosphere. We will be coming a few times a week. I give it a 10. !!! Live music outside also !!
Food was delicious but slightly overpriced and portions small (& I'm not a big eater).
Overall fabulous! I personally would use a thinner batter and slightly thinner tomatoes for the fried green tomatoes, but all else was absolutely great! Garrett came out to great us and made sure our mains were good. I had the filet, medium rare and it was spot on! Tender, almost melting in my mouth. The drinks were mixed great. The fried pickle sticks were excellent, jalapeño fries great. I was not a fan of the poppers but that’s okay, but I am not a fan of cream cheese in mine. We went for our anniversary and we loved it! We will definitely be dining again and will bring friends.
They were doing a good job of social distancing tables until it got busy then sat next to others. Great drink prices. Casual. The people in our party that had the cat fish said it was great. Salad was bagged salad with chopped tomatoes...a shame since their homemade dressing was great. I had the smothered chicken, grilled with roasted broccoli and blue cheese. The breast came out 1/2 under cooked and luke warm. Broccoli was steamed and luke warm, blue cheese crumbles in a cup. Not how I would have pictured that $4.99 side dish. For $14.99 my meal was basically a frozen dinner...wasn't worth going out for. Perhaps I ordered the wrong item but the server didn't suggest anything in lieu of.
The night we went service was a bit slow due to tech issues. But servers were great, polite, etc.
Love this place! We will keep coming back!
Excellent food and service. Back deck is amazing!
I love sitting outdoors - and they have in and out seating. Service ranged from “had to catch them” to “over-attentive” for general walk by. Excited to find this place and looking forward to live music.
We had a fantastic evening with amazing food, a great band, and beautiful outside seating! Highly recommend ;) The pulled pork tacos and the chicken wing appetizers hit it out if the ballpark! Can't wait to return ;) Lovely ..extremely accommodating staff all around. 🙌🏼
Comfort food with friendly service.
It was our first time there, food was great along with great service! Love the location.
Family had small children running around restaurant and parents and staff did nothing about it. Not the tone that the establishment is trying to become one of high end restaurant in rural Waller
Smoked Chicken wings were so over cooked, was like a jerky. Kitchen didn’t send out ranch either and asked waiter either but never saw it. He was too busy cleaning to check on us from time to time. I have been for dinner and great experience but overall, bad day.
Very nice place with good food and great atmosphere.
Wonderful place great value. Looking forward to many more visits!
We had a fantastic experience on Valentine's Night! CiCi, and Kelly were incredible and congenial in securing our reservation. Jess was our waitress and she was good! We loved the beautiful roses on the tables.
The ambiance and the decor needs some work in that left back room.
Too stark. Too business like. Way too lit up. Needs more color and artwork. Music needs to be heard.
FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE! We will be back.
Thank you all for a lovely evening. Patsy Quinn
I thought it would have been a neat historical place with great views of the trees but there were no views and just sheet rocked walls was a little disappointing. Food was just ok. Salad was probably from a bag. The filet was small and not very tender. For $36 it needs to be a great steak! My chicken fried chicken was delicious. Dessert was good as well. Unless they change, we won’t return.
Waitress took awhile to get our drinks to us...husband ordered beer...it was warm. Tried a second beer thinking maybe the fridge had just been restocked..second beer was also warm. Had to continually ask for tea refill. Wanted to order Texas Shrimp but heard the waitress tell another customer they were out of shrimp. So i ordered the meatloaf...it was very dry and had hard chewy things in it. The mashed potatoes and green beans were very good but for the price...the servings were small. Atmosphere was nice...but we just weren't overly impressed. I hate to give a negative review bur maybe it will help? Thanks
My husband and I saw this place passing by about a year ago and always said we wanted to check it out because we thought they might have good steaks. He had a birthday approaching so I thought it was a perfect occasion to go. We obviously went too late for an optimal experience. The site accepted reservations up until 9pm and I scheduled for 8:45. On the way there, we got a call and it was from the restaurant asking if it was possible to arrive closer to 8 since they close at 9 to allow the kitchen to begin their cleanup by a certain time. Although it was a little odd since the site accepted reservations that late, I would rather they call and prepare me ahead rather than tell me when I get there that the items I order are not available.
This place has great curb appeal, which is what drawn me in. Food was horrible, i ordered a smothered steak with brown gravy and mushrooms. I got a frozen patty, knowing this because you can tell by the thickness and perfectly round and smooth sides, it was charred black, when asked for medium and smothered in brown gravy with onions found one very small mushroom. My fully loaded baked potato came out with butter and cheese. My son's chicken fried chicken smothered in their chorizo gravy was too salty to eat. Trust me, we like salt and seasoning but that was more like a salty gravy with sausage in it. Too bad cause this place looks amazing, it looks like it could be an excellent vineyard out in the middle of no where. Super sad, and disappointed.
Of the two dinners ordered, one was excellent, the other not so much. The grilled salmon was very good, as were the side dishes that came with it. The smothered chicken was overdone, the gravy tasted like last week's out of a jar, the rice was under cooked and the beans were too hot from jalapenos to eat. Service was friendly but slow, and with hardly any other customers in the place there was no excuse for it.
I will think long and hard before going back.
Overall good, but overpriced for what you get. Dinner salad was premade and rolls were like frozen type...I expected more. Nice setting.
My family and I love 2920 Roadhouse! We went there once to just check it out and now we are addicted to it. :) Now we go regularly. The service is amazing. The food is good and the atmosphere is fun. Highly recommend!
