Really great food and friendly staff. We were amazed that we were given one of the best seats in the house to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The young lady who served us was very professional and looked after us very well. We were impressed with the décor and the food and drink was of high quality. Even though it was a Friday night Acre was not overcrowded and the noise level was not excessive. All in all a wonderful dining experience.

We where a small group of nine people and the food an service was excellent. Had a vegetarian in our midst and he was very happy with his options. The Local ingredients where greatly appreciated. Good atmosphere and great waiting staff.
Downside: we got charged 10% gratuity on the drinks. Did not go down well with the members in the group. Understand 10% on the meal - ok. But then again on top of the drinks. Feels like fleecing the client.

Lovely lunch at Acre Eatery. Food was good but not outstanding. Desserts were lovely though. Being a Sunday it was at full capacity so pretty noisy but service was good and prompt.

The setting and service was outstanding - really friendly beautiful staff and comfortable airy environment to dine in. I would recommend ordering lots of little things to share of the entree's menu as the mains were underwhelming in flavour.

We got married at Camperdown Commons a couple of years ago and have gone back to Acre for our anniversary dinner the past couple of years. The atmosphere, staff and the food keep us coming back (I also went for lunch yesterday). Fresh, delicious and ideal for vegetarians with non-vegetarians friends/partners. Also good value for such excellent food. Highly recommended!

Service is excellent although wait times for food was far too long considering the time of day and the amount of people in the restaurant.

It was lovely from start to finish. The food and service were impeccable and once we were done we headed outside to the bar for a few post lunch drinks - which was just as good.

The food was great, the wines delicious but the service from our waitress was awful. Possibly the most unhappy waitress i have ever encountered. She rolled her eyes continuously, walked off half way through a drinks order and then when she dropped the butter knife down my dads leg she rolled her eyes and told us it wasn't that bad. She was just utterly miserable her tone brought down the tone of the environment. Such a shame as its a beautiful venue.

A wonderful discovery! The food was excellent and fresh with lots of choices! The setting unique in the midst of the pocket gardens. We liked the farm-to-table concept and that all produce is local. The service was friendly and they left us plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely lunch. We will definitely go back!

Think Grounds of Alexandria and Chiswick - and Acre Eatery is somewhere in the middle of the two! Great ambiance, interesting menu, great wines & a community garden for added value. Would dine here again.

The waiting staff did not take steps to stop a child riding his scooter around the dining area. Apart from the fact it was annoying to everyone, the kid could have run into someone or caused someone (especially an elderly person) to fall and injure themselves. The parents should have stopped this activity but they did not. Therefore, I would have expected the restaurant staff to manage this.

We ordered cocktails to have before dinner but they came after the starters were brought on the table.
We ordered one bottle of wine that never arrived (we enjoyed our mains with water)
We ordered a whiskey after dinner that never arrived either. There was a shortage of staff maybe due to the holiday period but also only a few customers. We got no apologies.

Had been to Acre before and the food and service were quite good. Unfortunately on this day both were well below par, our bill was over 300 dollars yet my meal - the fish was not eatable. It had been refired and left under heat lamps or something until you literally couldn’t cut through it, the fish was stiff like cardboard, the mussels shrivelled and dry and revolting, the asparagus was dried out. The mains took a very long time to finally come out. We had a bread basket that contained some average bits of bread and a couple of pieces of bread that was rock hard all the way through. The lamb was good and the chips were really good so we filled up on them.
Service was so bad we started to laugh, our drinks came out after we asked could we please get them about 45 minutes after ordering, well after food had been served. We had to constantly wave down servers trying to get things like water, menus, bill, to pay the bill, we sat at the table for a very long time with empty glasses no food trying to get some ones attention. Yet the table next to us who knew the server/manager basically had staff standing chatting with them for the whole time we were there. When I finally got up to take the bill to someone so we could get out of there the person I found said he wasn’t on the clock yet so he couldn’t help. The whole thing was a joke I will never be back and will no longer recommend it to friends or family, it was terrible.
In short when we got it the wine was good (already knew that that’s why we ordered it).
Chips excellent, lamb good, chicken was pretty good too as was the smoked kingfish entree.
Service was beyond terrible some dishes couldn’t be eaten.
It was just after NY so we thought perhaps they didn’t have their regular staff on that day, although there did seem to be a lot of servers there and they seemed to have plenty a time on their hands...... just no time to service our table. We were pretty quiet and polite to them, yet we were def in a dead zone.

Really disappointing experience. The food was good despite having to send one dish back, but the service was the worst I have experienced in a long time.
A shame as the concept is wonderful, it is a great space, but I think the last straw was being asked mid way through our main with plates half eaten if they could take any plates so the "dishies could start washing our dishes."

It’s a bit too child friendly for my liking! The children next to us were literally running wild. Parents eventually disciplined them and they were quiet after that.
The food was very nice, very healthy and delicious too. It was a bit difficult to get staff’s attention. You can wait a while for drinks which is why I always buy them on the way in!!

Brilliant dinner date! The ambience of the restaurant is perfect surrounded by the beautiful gardens. It was raining heavily when we were there but that just added to the lovely small sustainable farm experience!
I was a bit disappointed that I ordered the Victorian sponge cake and got something different. It was still delicious though.

I had lunch with a friend on one of the busiest days of the year, the last Thursday before Christmas. The restaurant and the outdoor areas were full, but Acre retains a sense of airiness which even on the busiest day, still doesn't feel oppressive. There was a good bustling celebratory atmosphere and the service was still good. The food is consistently interesting and just sharing a range of starters and sides allowed us to taste many fresh summer flavours and get in and out easily within an hour (we had somewhere to get to, we weren't being rushed). Lovely working lunch amongst people who had a little more to celebrate.

Excellent setting and could not fault the food - had the signature lamb and salmon to share with a bunch of sides - reasonably priced for a group of 6 of us - love the layout as you aren't squashed in. My only fault was that the service was lacking a bit - had to get someones attention quite regularly to order food, get plates cleared, get drinks and ask for the specials. Though the service was friendly and helpful when we did get it.

$8 "Freshly Squeezed" orange juice was obviously not freshly squeezed (taste and smell was off, like reconstituted bottled juice). They said it was juiced in the morning (so at least half a day old) and didn't offers refund or a freshly squeezed replacement. The bread was stale/dry (as if pre-sliced and left in the basket for a long time). The place felt like it was probably good when originally setup, but that they've since dropped their standards for both food and service. The location and surrounds are good, but can't make up for the lackluster food. Definitely avoid. There are so many better places nearby.

Food was fantastic - love the farm-to-table approach and their commitment to sustainability and low wastage (e.g. encouraging of taking away left overs to avoid food waste). Our server was amazing and energetic. Place was very busy on a Saturday night - wedding reception in their front courtyard and large Christmas parties. Full of energy but can also be a tad noisy, so would probably avoid for intimate date nights.
