What a delightful surprise! Asheville isn't known for ethnic restaurants, and it was wonderful to be reminded that Addissae is right downtown--and awesome. They don't have terrific street frontage and make up for it with cheery service and great prices on their excellent and authentic food. Highly recommended.

Had a great first experience - had the vegetable massab(?) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The injera was gluten-free, which was a bonus for me! Will definitely be going back. Plenty of meat options, but plenty of options for vegetarians (and probably vegans) and equal opportunity for gluten-free folks.

This was our first time at Addissae and we are so pleased we gave it a try! We ordered both a vegetable and meat platter, which was served family style. Everything was delicious! Did I mention that we had a great glass of Malbec and even the injera was gluten free?! Total score, and we can't wait to go back!

This was my first visit to this restaurant but not my first visit to an Ethiopian restaurant. The food was good and flavorful but my experience was colored by the unfortunate layout of the restaurant. I WISH they had the dining set at the front of the restaurant near the windows. The seats are in the back where the kitchen SHOULD be. The best real estate is in the front at the large windows and unfortunately, that is where the cooks are. I wish they could put some seating by the windows (even with garage doors that open for open air seating on pretty days and nights).

What a lovely treat to eat at Addissae! My husband chose it for his birthday, and I'd never eaten Ethiopian food before and was a bit apprehensive. No need to fear, the menu is approachable and not overwhelming and the food was DELICIOUS. We will definitely visit again! So glad to have an Ethiopian restaurant in Asheville!

First time here but have been to Ethiopian restaurants before. Great addition to the Asheville dining experiences! We had the vegetarian sampler for 2. Tasty and not overly spicy. Authentic tastes and aromas. We'll be back! Oh, the coffee is amazing!

Ordered a beef & a lamb dish. While the sauces were spicy as ordered, the cuts of meat were very hard to chew & thus inferior cuts. The vegetables that came with all dishes lacked flavor for the most part & the injera was not a typical tasty one like ones i have had at many other Ethiopian restaurants elsewhere.
