Al Molo is an award-winning Italian restaurant launched in 2015 and transformed Weymouth’s Pier Bandstand into a destination for wonderful Italian food. Co-owners Giuseppe Vannucci & Tim Newton achieved national recognition from the Italian Chamber of Commerce with the “Marchio Ospitalità Italiana“ seal of quality award and won Gold for ‘Restaurant Of The Year’ at the South West England Tourism Excellence Awards.

Building on that success, this new restaurant, their second, Al Molo Dorchester, is traditional Italian cuisine and seafood Restaurant focus to bring fresh, locally caught fish to the forefront of the menu.

Situated in one of Dorchester’s oldest buildings, Judge Jeffreys on High West Street, one of the few surviving timber-framed buildings in Dorchester.

Using fresh, locally caught fish and produce, coupled with the finest Italian ingredients, the restaurant will pride itself on quality food in a venue which provides a unique historical setting.

    Four of us dined here on Saturday night. Most staff were friendly when we arrived. We had a mail waiter who was very up himself. Never smiled the whole time we were there . Other staff lovely snd friendly. The food was ok ish. Except I had seafood linguine this was very salty. I usually eat lots of salt and add it to most of my food. Thank goodness I didn't add any salt. It was extremely salty and I could eat it. My husband and another guest had steak they said thst was lovely , but for a small portion over £30 was expensive I thought. The other guest had dressed grab , this was very small and had lots of bits of shell in it. We had scallops for starter these were OK a little under seasoned but ok. We had desserts2 of us had the panna cotta this was a little grainy . Tiramasu was good , lemon cheesecake was lovely. The whole meal was nearly £250 for 4 of us. Really not worth the money. For that I expect everything to be perfect . Definitely won't be going again.

    Two couples on holiday. Wonderful three course meal with a warm and friendly service. The food and presentation was of a very high standard.

    We have eaten at Al Molo before and have always been impressed with the food and the staff. We have two dogs and we are so happy they are welcome there which is just so lovely. The food was just superb and exceptional quality. Staff at Al Molo are excellent and vey friendly and the service is always great The whole meal (this was for our wedding anniversary) was such good quality and value for money for three courses and wine Thank you again for such a lovely evening and we shall be back soon

    Excellent food, lots of seafood dishes. All very flavourful. Attentive service. Lovely historic interior. Very enjoyable evening. First time, we will be back next time we are in the area!
