Warmth, hospitality and enjoying life - Welcome to Alpenrose!
Came for fondu. Really pleasant alpine themed restaurant. Fairly small and quiet restaurant. Really nice staff. Ok wine menu. Good food. Met my expectations.
Amazing food! Great service!
The new owners have made some beautiful decor changes—although the tables upstairs are pretty tight together. When we visited it seemed that the servers were stretched thin and struggling to keep up. Food and wine were great, but a bit pricey, I think. All in all, we enjoyed the time and we’ll be back.
Food when owned by Alpen Rose 1 owners was much better.....Miss the trout!!! Must up grade the food
What a gem!!
This restaurant was recommended to us by several local Vail residents .
Growing up in a German household I was excited to try. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
Everything was totally delicious and very nice presented
Thanks for a fabulous evening!!
great spot, very authentic German, The staff is all from the German area as well. Food was great, little pricy but very worth it fir Vail. A great place to have a great diner.
Great food and wonderful staff. I liked the mix out of German, Swiss and Austrian food/drinks. Very cozy, a little kitschy but it works. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
Great place!!! The amazing foie gras bratwurst was incredible!!!
My family and I finally had a chance to try Alpenrose and now we wonder what took us so long to do so. The atmosphere is great for families, couples or groups. All of our food items were surprisingly good. I loved the schnitzel. Our daughter liked my wife's order of ravioli so much she hardly left any for my wife. The pretzel with mustard and cheese sauce was a great appetizer. My wife had a flaming wine drink with a name we could never remember or pronounce, but she loved it. The staff was friendly and the service amazingly quick for such a crowded night. We will definitely come back on future trips to Vail.
Great ambience, great food, great service. the different food options are great and very different from other similar places. Desserts are wonderful.
Wonderful German/Austrian menu. Very authentic but without heavy preparations. Of course the schnitzel was delicious. And great apfelstrudel.
We have been going here for about 20 years and walked in to find a newly renovated restaurant. The style and decor is nice but the food has sadly been limited to a small one page menu and the desserts are not as extensive as they used to be. We always looked forward to picking a dessert out of the case and sadly that was not an option this time. The entree food surprisingly took not even 10 minutes to be brought out which was off putting for the meal as we felt extremely rushed. The fondue that used to be on the starter menu to share is no longer. Not sure if it is under new management but as a family that frequent multiple times a year for the past 20+ years, we were saddened that things changed not for the better.
wonderful; went there twice!
Food and service are excellent!
We were disappointed because we expected more. We waited a long time for our Gluwine which arrived arrived long way after our pretzel. A 3rd person then ordered a Gluwine which was forgotten. The wait for food was quite long and I believe it had been sitting on the counter during our wait - the meat was cold and the spatzle had turned rubbery. The potato pancakes had been overcooked to almost black. Then the bill was wrong and we had been charged for 2 extra drinks. The atmosphere is great however.
Wonderful atmosphere. The food was delicious and presentation was perfect. Staff was exceptional. Best meal we had all week.
Great service and the food is delicious, if you come to Vail it is a must to have dinner here.
Very cozy interior. Benches with fur, tables of wood, candles and dim chandeliers. Reminds me of Austria in a way. Nice and cozy from the cold. Food was delicious and filling. Good place for groups or a couple.
It is amazing to see the re-vamp of this long time Vail staple - the interior is authentic eclectic, the mostly European staff is authentically professional and welcoming, and the food and drink is many levels above what was historically available here. We used to come here and with the new set up we will come much more frequently!
The restaurant is under new ownership and with that a new less than desirable menu. The selections have taken on a more gourmet flair with a German menu it is just a miss. What was once a great traditional restaurant and a staple in the Vail area is not a place struggling to fit in. The service is lack luster at best with dinner entrees arriving before a beverage (a diet soda, nothing fancy). There are too many amazing restaurants in the Vail area with great traditional and gourmet offerings and impeccable service to waste your time with this one.
