Warmth, hospitality and enjoying life - Welcome to Alpenrose!
This restaurant is delightful. Fantastic service, beautiful presentation and wonderful food!
Sat outside upstairs. Great service, delicious food. Incredibly enjoyable dinner!
Delicious, great service
Small portions. Expensive prices. Just ok food.
I asked for bread for my small looked like a half portion of goulash. The goulash which was in a soup bowl half filled, tasted good expect the mushrooms. They seemed canned and over cooked. It’s was 25 dollars. The bread was 3.50.
$28.50 was too Much for the portion and quality of the food. And this was lunch. My husband had bratwurst for 20.00 it was pretty good.
Come on Alpenrose, give it some effort. Service was ok. All in all a disappointment. With some effort it could be good.
My friend had Awesome pork schnitzel with some neat noodles. I had the smoked salmon with swiss potato pancakes. Soooo good. Was fun meeting waitress from Switzerland since I was supposed to go this year.
We have been fans of Almresi since it opened a few years ago so we were excited to try Alpenrose under their new ownership. The food is prepared similarly to Almresi - well executed with good size portions. Lots of wines by the glass to choose from and, contrary to the trend in most places, we received a healthy pour. the only glitch in an otherwise enjoyable evening was when we asked for a bit of time to think about dessert, our server left us alone for a good 20-25 minutes. We ultimately flagged her down to get a check. Too bad though - we saw the desserts in the case on our way out and they looked amazing.
Alpenrose is a great dining experience in Vail. Pricing is fair for Vail, atmosphere, staff and food were great. We absolutely enjoyed the evening and will be going back again for sure.
Great European ambience and the food delivered on authenticity. Would have liked a few more authentic options but the food was excellent.
One of the best patios in Vail is now matched by fabulous food and service.
Adorable little place!!! Loved it and can’t wait to go back! A high point of our trip to Vail:)
Great outdoor table. Good service and great food - the fondue was a little disappointing but the main courses were excellent. Will definitely return!
Exceptional German cuisine in an intimate setting. Outdoor seating was provided and space was respected. We ordered two entree and split a salad; the margarita was stellar and I highly recommend. I ordered the Extra large Pils and was thoroughly pleased with the pour.
The service was excellent, the food mediocre and commercial.
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent service. Good food!
We sat on the front patio and it was a great ambiance. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We would definitely like to go back and experience it in the winter!
They didn't have the schnitzel, I recommend ordering it beforehand. But everything else delicious as always.
Have been taking advantage of the Alpenrose for years. With the new Covid restrictions we were curious as to how this restaurant would handle social distancing. We need not have worried. The patio tables were appropriately distanced and felt very safe. The service was good, as usual, but we were a bit disappointed with the less-varied menu. The Veal Goulash would have been better with vegetables added, but the potato pancake was yummy. The desserts here are amazing!
Crispy duck was delicious! Sat outside in the back. Lovely.
Food was delicious! Which they had schnitzel on the menu. Staff very pleasant.
amazing food, beautiful place, great service
We love the Swiss village atmosphere at Alpenrose.
Great experience - delicious German food served by authentic Bavarians. Mushroom consume was amazing and brats and goulash were top shelf. The crowning glory, however, was the amazing mixed berry tart - perfect combo of sweet and puckery with hints of nutmeg and cardamom. Can’t wait to go back.
This is my new favorite restaurant in Vail! Charming atmosphere, excellent service and the food was delicious. Our group of six had a variety of entrees and each was beautifully presented.
My wife is German and eating here made her feel like she was back home! The food is superb and very authentic. The waitstaff are primarily young European and just delightful. We ate here 3 times during our week’s stay. Could not recommend more highly.
Been going here for years. Really missed not having schnitzel and spaetzle on the menu. That’s what we came for. Salad with in house raspberry vinaigrette was excellent as was the duck and cabbage.
Steak Tartar was very good
Wine was not cellar temperature. Actually warm. And please bring back real wine glasses the thick cut crystal is not ok with a good wine.
Fabulous ambiance. Cozy and romantic alpine decor but with really bad music!
Try it but it is a mixed bag
Our favorite restaurant in Vail! Will be back any chance we have!
Food was excellent along with service. The bartender also made great cocktails.
Outstanding as always. Great service and amazing food
We did not enjoy our food at Alpen Rose. Great location and nice atmosphere, however the food was not good.
Lovely ambience outside under the full moon!
Awesome European vibe, great staff, traditional food and enjoy the schnapps, beers and wine
Good basic German/Austrian fare. Excellent service from our young waitress from Kazakhstan, dressed in a dirndle. Reisling described as “dry” one the wine list wasn’t - was very sweet. However, they swapped it out for a Chardonnay without complaint or charge. Enjoyed our dinner.
Seated 40 minutes after our reservation, no communication they were running late
Excellent food, beer, service, and ambiance.
Every detail is impeccable. They were very helpful for a friend with Celiacs.
Bread with fondue was stale and not particularly appetizing. Tomato and potato soups were nothing special. Entrees were better, but not much. Go to leonora next door in Sebastian hotel.
Everything about Alpenrose is phenomenal! The restaurant is absolutely adorable, the is food is out of this world, and the service is exceptional. This is a MUST when in Vail.
We've been here before but never left a review. Food was delicious as usual, and desserts too! Dining out is always a bit expensive, but totally worth it when the food is this good. I would highly recommend for a special occasion or if you just want to get some really good German/Austrian/Swiss food! You won't be disappointed.
If you are looking for a German/Austrian restaurant, this is defiantly a place I recommend. The food was spectacular and the service exceeded what I expected.
