Warmth, hospitality and enjoying life - Welcome to Alpenrose!
Beautiful restaurant. The service was great and the food was fantastic. Wonderful experience overall!
Amazing food and great atmosphere! Loved it!
Todo súper rico!
Ethan was amazing!!! He made the whole experience very welcoming and we loved the pretzel and tomato soup! Beautiful environment and will definitely return next time we are in town :)
We've been going to Alpenrose for a long time. We find the food excellent. The concern regarding Alpenrose is its ability to handle groups. The seating plan is constricted for a group of five or more. This year, our group was six plus a baby requiring a high chair. We could not move once seated without forcing adjoining tables to rise and allow egress. We recognize the Alpenrose is simply trying to maximize space but it is causing guests to become less enthusiastic about its ambience and food. If you are not comfortable in the seatinga arrangements it is more difficult for a group to enjoy the experience. And, the Alpenrose needs more coat storage. Everyone comes in wearing gear. There are few coat hooks and, unless you specifically ask, you are unaware that Alpenrose will store a jacket in its back room.
They thought of everything with the charming decor! Great cozy stop on a cold day. We weren’t in town long on our first visit to Vail but this made the experience. Service was quick and friendly, food and drinks were good and presentation was stunning. Duck was a bit dry but there was sauce on the side. Overall worth the price. Our party had 2 babies and they were welcoming. Not crowded on a Saturday at noon but it seemed like the inside tables were all reserved and outside tables were available for walk-up.
Love the restaurant! We go every time we are in Vail.
Loved loved the Spätzle! We’ll be back for the desserts!!! Thank you!!
Loved Alpenrose! Super hip casual European chalet chic decor and our food was delicious. A gem in Vail and we will be back for sure!
There wasn’t a good wine list. Most was undrinkable. We ordered a grapefruit and vodka but they were out of grapefruit. We ordered a dish with a side of potato salad. It came with boiled potatoes. The portions were small and the cost was $38.00.
The decor was adorable but the food was awful.
Traditional German fare in a festive alpine ambience. Friendly service and good value for Vail! Enjoyable times.
the food is not good. The specialty, a swiss fondue with tomatoes ( never heard of such thing in Switzerland, Austria nor French Alps) is really a can of tomato campbell soup mixed with cheddar, served with pieces of commercial sliced brown bread and cherry tomatoes floating in the fondue. Selection of wine is not adequate, only costumes are authentic though nobody dresses like that since Heidi passed away.
True authentic experience
Fun restaurant with an Austrian flare. Enjoyed the ambiance, service and food.
Acogedor chalet! Comida auténtica y excelente servicio
We loved it! Great ambiance, terrific service and a wonderful evening. We will definitely return!
This place is awesome! The service was fast, the servers were polite, the ambiance is just lovely, the food delicious, and I didn’t try the bakery but it looked yummy! Great experience all around. And a kids menu!
I was under-impressed with the food at Alpenrose Vail. There were many extra things on our plates that did not add to the quality of the meal. I think that the idea of this type of food is wonderful but the execution was poor. The cocktails were too sugary and the bread for the fondue was very stale. I know that this may be the style but it wasn't very good.
We can’t wait to go back! Been coming to vail for years and some how have never been! Big mistake!
Dieses Abendessen war am das beste das wir seit lange Zeit essen haben. Wir können nur gut Dinge sagen., und kommen bald zurück.
This was such a well thought out experience. From the accommodating staff, to the beautiful room and food and drinks presentation we felt like family, dining in an alpine fairy tale.
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall service was outstanding. The food was also outstanding. Great pretzel, great fondue and loved the schnitzel.
The cheese fondue and tomato soup were good and the caprese salad was OK but the place seemed a bit dead...it's great great great if you like that type of food!~
Awesome spot. Not ridiculously overpriced like most of Vail. Sat at the first date table which was pretty sweet. Would highly recommend and will likely return
The restaurant was welcoming, cozy and warm. Food was delicious and waitstaff was very attentive. A lovely evening was had by all.
I love this place and the food is phenomenal. My only issue is with the overhead lighting. It can be a little harsh in some spots of the restaurant!
This place is the ultimate cute factor with delicious food. We have been here a few times and it never disappoints.
First time. Fantastic food! Loved the authentic feel of not only the food , but the servers , and decor. Will be back!
First night in Vail, stopped in to get us in the “German-Swiss” Mountain mood - and Alpenrose didn’t disappoint. The salads are great, very big, and the Schnitzel and Spaetzle was tasty. We were at Alpenrose last year for a food tour and had great deserts even though we were too travel-fatigues to taste them this visit.
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Great food and employees.
Loved it! Service is excellent! Authentic and super cozy atmosphere.
Really wonderful waitstaff. Adorable ambiance and delicious food!
Absolutely charming and magical. A truly wonderful experience. Really made us feel like part of Vail!
This was a lovely restaurant when we arrived at 11:30 they were barely opening up but they let us sit right away. It has a nice German feel quaintly decorated and the servers are all in traditional garments. We had at the schnitzel and the potato salad which was the best I’ve ever had. The fondue was good. And the Spoetzl which is the veal soup which was delicious. The homemade lemonade we really liked although I’m not sure why it’s blue. It Would be a nice place for kids given the Decour. We had a Lena and she was a great server always smiling and happy, my husband enjoyed speaking German with her. Definitely recommend and will visit again.
Wonderful experience one of Vail’s most authentic ski chalet restaurants!
The new team leading Alpenrose has done a fantastic job revitalizing this Vail establishment. My family of two teenaged boys, my wife and I had a terrific meal there tonight. Service was enthusiastic and attentive. The food was terrific. And the ambience was wonderful.
We are regulars in Vail and we will put this on our rotation moving forward. Thanks all and best of continuing success team!
Good restaurant for quick Germanic lunch...
Great German comfort food. Busy venue right after Christmas. Attentive server Mariana.
