Artisans Restaurant
The owners of Artisans Restaurant have created a place unlike any other. The vast working kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant, with views from every seat in the building. The culinary team works like an orchestra, where their composer is the owner/executive chef and they work in unison to create art for their audience consistently while paying attention to every detail.
The service and food are always excellent, easy parking in the garage and the owner is always around greeting his guests.
We had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary. Thank you for everything.
Great restaurant and service. Food was a bit under-seasoned
It was wonderful. Not only was the food incredible but we were served by the manager and his service was PHENOMENAL!!!!
Quiet and romantic atmosphere, perfect for our anniversary. Service was great, Grace was our host. The table behind us was fussy but we had a blast. Thank you Grace.
The Artisan is a 3 star restaurant at 5 star prices and couldve had much better customer service. We had to order our meals 3 times and the wrong food was brought to our table. We ordered 1 glass of white wine twice and they brought out a red and brought out the wrong dessert twice. Under no circumstances should a 20% tip have been included with our bill. The food was as ordinary as a 3 star restaurant. I've had much better steak at Saltgrass for 40% of the price. The Artisan should be embarrassed by the portions they serve at the prices the charge and their staff should be properly trained. For a Tuesday night, our food should have been delivered much faster and not taken an hour and dessert shouldnt have taken an additional hour. They did however check on our table every minute for payment like we were going to run out on the ticket which is quite offensive considering we were the only Hispanics in the restaurant. The other parties were NOT treated in such a manner.
Romantic quite cozy loved it food was delicious service was excellent
The restaurant is very clean. The ambiance is beautiful and romantic. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I only wish they enforced a strict dress code due to the restaurant being one of fine dining. Other than that my dining experience was great and and the quality was worth the price.
Service subpar, food was meh. $80pp Xmas Eve 5 course dinner. Below average French cuisine. Very disappointed. $757 bill. Could have patronized many fabulous Restaurants in Houston tonight. Very disappointed.
Always a great choice for a quiet date or meeting friends. Creative chef.
Great food and great service! Artisans never disappoints.
We went for our first year anniversary, the restaurant was almost empty. Our waitress was very good, however the manager didn’t have any sense of hospitality. He came by our table to ask if everything was good, we let him know that we didn’t like the duck dish that we ordered. It was dry and didn’t taste like duck. He asked if we want anything else, we declined because we were full. Other plates were good, nothing exceptional like other french upscale restaurants in Houston. We were surprised to see that we were charged for the plate which we complained about..Overall the restaurant looks upscale and the ambiance was good but the food doesn’t measure up. There are much better alternatives in Houston for upscale french dining.
Terrible food. Not French.
Food not cooked properly, meat tasted spoiled. Could not be eaten.
Servers tried their best. Will not go back and would not recommend it.
Perfect ambiance and service. Gorgeous restaurant and superb service by our waiter Jon and staff. Nice to have the manager drop by and ask how we were doing. Very nice hostess helped me set up the table early on before my date and I arrived.
We chose the 6- and 7-course meals with the wine pairings -- a lot of work on the part of the waiter and kitchen to get right, but was perfectly executed down to the smallest details. The waiter described to a T every course when it arrived and the glass of wine that accompanied each. All the silverware was meticulously replaced for every course and all used plates and wine glasses removed promptly. Every course arrived in perfect time, albeit we had to slow the progression down a bit at one point -- we hadn't finished our wine before the next one would arrive.
The food for the most part was very good. Some courses exceptional (lobster bisque, the scallops, the seared foie gras, the desserts) while others were a letdown (the lamb loin was too lean with no flavor even with the sauce, the steak was subpar and the snapper was drowned in a brown sauce that neither of us thought paired well with fish. The waiter did inform us beforehand that the lamb was grass fed and would be lean but we figured it would taste good nonetheless. It did not.) Despite a few missteps on three of the 13 courses the food was delicious. Having about 7 of 13 courses be amazing is certainly nothing to complain about, however about 1/4 - 1/3 of the dishes we've had there in the past have been just so-so. Tonight was decidedly better thankfully, but this is why I give 4 not 5 stars. The impeccable service helped.
We had a wonderful time in one of the finest restaurants in Houston. Kudos to the chef & crew who made last night an evening not to forget.
Note: the 6- or 7-course prix-fixe options require that there be a lot of interaction between you & the servers, so an intimate meal is better had by ordering fewer courses a la carte from the main menu.
Great food and nice services. I ordered 8 courses. The food quality and amount was so good.
Very nice. We enjoyed lunch. Maybe we will return for a fuller menu at diner. Where's the valet?
One of the best places in Houston for Food and Ambiance!! The 6 to 7 course tasting menu is everything
The food was phenomenal. Excellent tasting menu with wine pairings.
Incredibly attentive service by the manager, Gregory, and the entire wait staff. Everyone was so kind. The ambiance was cozy and so festive. Our food was outstanding. We will absolutely be back!
The service staff was awesome. There was a nice quite environment. Could have used some more lighting to see the menu. The food however could have used more flavor. I was very disappointed in how much we paid for what we were served. The main item on each plate was very bland. The items that actually had taste were sides/garnish; and there was not enough of the sides/garnish to help the plate.
Our go-to restaurant to impress our out of town guests.
The new vegetarian entree is not up to the mark. We were disappointed.
Excellent service, excellent dishes. Was offered trials of a couple of things that we did not order. Was an amazing experience, will definetly be back for more celebrations!
You do not put thick mushroom gravy on Turkey!!!!
Great food, service and ambiance. The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or special date
I’ve never had bad experience or meal here. This was maybe our 15th time dining here. We adore the ambiance. The food is exceptional. The service is outstanding. This time we ordered one of every appetizer and dessert. But I stuck to my usual for my entree, the pistachio crusted Chilean sea bass. It’s amazing! Do try this restaurant.
Jacque Fox was on form and splendid as always
Plz told all for formal wear only that is in american right?
I love the place. The food, the service - so perfect for any occasion. We celebrate our wedding anniversary here each year and this was particularly awesome as we didn’t think we would get to eat out. French for the win!!
Great ambiance and layout.
Service very slow to start.
Need a better choice of Pinot by the glass.
Food was delicious - yummy bread!
I look forward to returning.
It was nice to get back into fine dining experience.
We ordered the 7 course meal and it was excellent. It was our Anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect.
Artisans is our go to fine dining spot. Service is always wonderful as well as the bar and the food.
Sooo good
Love the white wine they have
Everything was cooked perfectly.
We love this place. The service is great and the food is wonderful. Chefs Jacques and Russell serve up the best French food in Houston. We always enjoy sitting at the table over looking the kitchen. Advice, leave room for Amanda’s desserts!
Excellent birthday dinner here! The service was friendly and fast, the ambience was lovely and the food was absolutely delicious! Will be back again!
The food was delicious, the service was excellent and overall it was an worthwhile experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The food was beyond amazing!! I had the chicken and lobster and my husband had the NY strip and lobster. The steak was perfect and they even shaved truffles on top because he asked. Flawless service and a great jazz band in the background
Always fantastic food and service. One of my favorites.
Outstanding food, fresh products, well prepared. Good wine list
