The two-story restaurant, spanning 8,000-square-feet, is located in the heart of restaurant row in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. Upon entering, there is a bustling bar and on the second floor, a vibrant dining room, both connected by an arresting illuminated sculpture inspired by Siena Tavern's olive tree icon.
Bar Siena is the perfect location for weekday lunch, dinner, happy hour or weekend brunch. If you're looking for something a little sweeter, stop by Bar Siena's side-concept and walk-up window, BomboBar, located on Green Street. Grab a coffee, bomboloni, gelato or hot chocolate to go!
What Insiders Are Saying
Bar Siena is great for a fun gathering in the West Loop. Go heavy on the pizza and pastas. And drinks. You're going to want those too.
Our server could not have cared less about us or how we enjoyed the food. He was slow with everything and never checked in after we received our food. The food was just ok - nothing special. Overpriced side items like the hash brown waffle came out luke warm and the short rib hash was soupy. Very sad since we have been here many times before and enjoyed it.
The short rib lasagna was absolutely amazing and worth the visit. Our server was also friendly and attentive. However, our reservation was at 8:45pm and a DJ started at about that time. No one could hear each other at our table, making conservation extremely difficult. We were told that three other tables left just due to the noise level. Perhaps the DJ should start a bit later!
Outstanding service and incredible food and cocktails.
We ordered the meatballs and the burrata apps and they were amazing! We also ordered the chicken, which was a pretty small portion; fig/proscuitto pizza which was good; spinach pasta, which was good; and the gnocchi, which was okay. I'd like to go back and just get apps - the portion sizes were similar to the entrees, for less.
In general, I feel like everything (cocktails, apps, entrees) there was at least $5 overpriced, if not more. Good atmosphere though.
The service was outstanding from getting seated to table service. But there were some food issues and the water glasses were dirty.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This is one of our parents favorite restaurants to visit when they are in town and they did not disappoint! Kat has been our server nearly every time we visit and she was fantastic as always! They are always more than accommodating and you can not go wrong!
Pa. You can also order a late with a picture uploaded directly from your phone, on the spot! Amazing experience as always!
We loved the food, the ambiance and the service. The only small disappointment was the fact that when I booked the dinner , I marked it as a special occasion and nobody at the restaurant seemed to know about this. They didn’t even ask us if we celebrate something or have a special occasion.......
For brunch/lunch, we loved the octopus, lobster benedict and shrimp - potato skins were excellent too!
Highly recommend the short rib lasagna, the whipped potatoes, and the spinach cappellacci.
Great place for breakfast. I'm sure it's good later in the day, but I have an egg allergy and liked the fact that the entire menu was available. Good food, great, friendly service. I picked this Bar Siena because it opens at 9 AM on Saturday, but I would go back any time of day now.
Overall the food was good. We were kept waiting for almost 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Food and service was solid.
Took a group here for lunch. The service was quick. There was something good for everyone including me with my gluten free needs. Very enjoyable meal and a reasonable price for the area.
Great Food, attentive staff and save room for the donuts!
Good food every time we have gone and nice decor.
Easily recommend for anyone! Enjoy!
We enjoyed a relaxing dinner of shared food at Bar Siena. The atmosphere was upscale casual. The food very good. The cheese and meat appetizer was excellent. The chop salad was great. The octopus was ok. Our main dish ravioli was very good, the chicken was outstanding and moist. The red snapper delicious. Ou Far Niente Chardonnay was very good but pricey. Same goes for the Penney Ash Pinot Noir. Service overall very good. The injection donuts for desert are a novelty. Will go again.
Prices are reasonably fair but not outstanding. Overall a 4.5 place.
Food was overall good. Eggs were too salty. Service was excellent on a busy day.
Too noise! Music was extremely loud and it was impossible to Talk. I will not come back.
Food and drinks were ok, nothing special.
This place is so beautiful...and the food is ridiculous good! One of my favorite spots! Great service this weekend as well!
Good food and ambiance, however music way too loud, hard to have a conversation.
New addition of Mussels and Clam's dish was fantastic. Server was great. We sat upstairs this time, which is much better for conversation level noise level, though downstairs is still great. Definitely recommend for a great place to get numerous shareable plates!
After theatre dinner on a Saturday. Grabbed two seats at the bar and met Heather, a friendly bartender who welcomed us, and as first timers, cheerfully explained the menu. Over a couple perfect manhattans, we mulled her suggestions and settled on the meatballs and shrimp and artichoke to start. Meatballs were great, shrimp dish overly salted. Enjoyed the burrata salad next, followed by two outstanding pastas-the gnocchi and lobster tagliatelle. Couldn’t resist the fig and prosciutto pizza either. Finished things off with their famous donuts and gelato. Wine was good too. Very hip spot...might have been the youngest folks there, but made to feel really welcome and enjoyed the experience!
My friend and I enjoyed a delicious meal. Unique burrata salad and wonderful short ribs lasagna. Even the gelato was incredible. A terrific dining experience.
poor follow uo service. Food good. Very limited dinner menu. Desert service much too slow. in all somewhat overpriced
This restaurant is consistently good
Great place for birthday dinner with my girls!! Beautiful setting, delicious food, and great service had a wonderful time.
Just learned they have a frequent dinner card for $10 which also gives you $10 off your next meal.
The food was delicious. Great meatballs and fresh pasta was great
The Burrata was excellent, the short rib lasagna and Snapper were good (but not great). Table had crumbs in it when we were seated (we just brushed them off). Waitress was very good and friendly.
They stole my daughter’s hat when it was on the table. I needed to beg to give it back.
Great food, service was not as attentive as we would have liked.
I brought my family in for Sunday brunch this past Memorial Day weekend. The food was fantastic and we had a great time there. However, we had a terrible experience with our server Ian H. He seemed to be careless about us from the moment we sat down. He was only there to take our drink and food orders and to bring our check. At one point he came to check on us and we had no problems with our food but it seemed like he asked us how we were doing as he was walking away, so even if we needed something we couldn’t say anything. He came over later as we were finishing to ask if we wanted anything from the dessert menu and we had said that we wanted to go downstairs and get the full Bombo Bar experience. He then threw the menu down and walked away. We asked for some boxes for our food and he never brought them. The bussers we had were fantastic and we actually tipped the two of them $5 each because they ended up boxing up our food.
Great restaurant and great place but the service was definitely disappointing.
Fabulous service. Wonderful food and ambiance!!!
I really love this place and would recommend it for anyone looking for a perfect combo of casual and excellent quality.
The calzone was excellent but just a bit doughy. We probably ordered too much food but I have to say that the hummus was absolutely fantastic!
Ordered the Capellini and it was served lukewarm, I had to send it back to be reheated. The ambience and service was good.
Everything was great as always! Our waitress was very attentive, helpful and polite. Great recommendations. I recommend the burrata, sweet corn ravioli and cauliflower pasta! Excellent flavors! We continue to recommend to our friends!
Delicious food! Amazing.
Very disappointed. I’ve eaten at most restaurants around the Fulton market area and I have 0 reason to go back here. I brought customers for dinner and apologized to them for choosing this place because of the below average service. I guess it was an off night for them.
I used to love this place but it’s gotten way too loud!!! Still good food but couldn’t even hear each other. This has turned into a River North club. Disappointing!
Way to loud, couldn’t even talk to the person next to me. Pizza and salad was salty
Had a great time, but was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation or hear the waitress very well.
