    I had been before and came again with 2 friends. All in all it was very disappointing. The table that I reserved was not ready. The place was overcrowded. The tables were on top of each other. The food was overpriced and all three of us were underwhelmed by what we had. The Dauphinoise potato at $28 was flavorless and lacking in cream and cheese with no sauce and the Steak Frites at $45 was tough. At least the frites were good. I got the feeling they were 'packing us all in' to maximize revenue with lack of care for the food that was really highly priced. I would not recommend this place to anyone

    Merci Beaucoup! What a phenomenal spot we have discovered. The steak frites was equivalent to that of Paris. The oysters were deliciously briney. The drinks perfectly chilled and the butterscotch crème brûlée was also out of this world. Cannot wait to come back! Certainly added to our favorite restaurants in the city. Super excited to have this on my shortlist.

    We had a very nice table along the banquette. Surprisingly, the polenta was too salty and the salmon too well done (I had asked for medium). We had to signal someone passing by to get a dessert menu and coffee.

    We ate there on Thanksgiving day so other days may be different. I do not know. The food was excellent, the proportions were of the correct size and were well prepared and delicious. The service staff seemed to be very inexperienced. Considering the cost of the meal and the high ratings of the restaurant, I expected more. As I said earlier, it could be because of Thanksgiving. Perhaps the regular staff were not available.

    I usually visit Batifol at least once a month. It always has good food and good ambiance. This time I was disappointed with the food. I ordered the Demi Poule roti as a main course; it is half chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach. The chicken was over cooked and served without gravy and the portion was a tiny half chicken and also it was cold. Also, realized they increased the price. When they opened, the price for it was $28; then $30 and now $32. I think it’s overpriced!

    The vibe is excellent. Service was poor. Our server was just not well-trained. The price point is that of a nice restaurant but the service was like a Denny's. We were rushed in the beginning; than ignored later on. We had to constantly ask for more water. We even suggested a bigger glass or leaving a small pitcher -- the server looked at us and smiled. But no response. When I made the reservation I indicated it was my friend's birthday. But no acknowledgement of that and not even a particularly nice table. The food was VERY good but if they can't match the overall experience of service and timing to the food and price point, I don't think this place will last.

    What’s better than a delicious coq au vin in the city Julia Child got her big break?? This spot is delightful, a total vibe with some outstanding French dishes and cocktails. My first visit but certainly not my last!

    Sadly the food was average, my risotto was really below standard, overcooked and tasteless and the sauce in the moules wasn’t to our taste. Thankfully our waiter was an absolute delight, Willie was charming, informative, helpful fun and professional, and we’d come again if we knew he was there.

    Had a table for 8 and everyone was pleased. It was lovely and fun and packed on a Tuesday night! Wish you could get burgers or sandwiches at dinner time too!

    My entree, Coq au Vin was mediocre. It tasted as though it had been frozen and then reheated. My salad was good, good service but the main course was substandard.

    We had an 8pm reservation and our table was not ready until 8:45. It appears we were one of many groups waiting...however, aside from the wait, the food was very tasty and we would go back. The salade verte, soup du jour (carrot, ginger and coconut milk) and celery puree were all very good. Hopefully next time we visit the will have improved their reservation planning.

    Nice French bistro in Kendall Square. I got beef bourguignon and my partner got the duck - both excellently presented and very tasty. Good wine list. Prices are reasonable. Busy and popular place - book in advance.

    Great service, terrific wine list, but the risotto was bland and the duck tough, served with potatoes that were tasteless. Flatbread and beet appetizers were promising, but our hopes were quickly dashed by the disappointment of the mains. Overall not great value given the mediocre food.

    This place is superb! There are several good French restaurants in Boston but this may be the best. We went for brunch and had creative, delightful cocktails, croissants, salmon Benedict and croquet monsieur The entrees came with rosemary frites and a light fresh green salad. All so very good. Can’t wait to try dinner there!

    I have been to Batifol a number a times for lunch, brunch and dinner and it hasn't ever disappointed. A wonderful venue just outside Kendall square and very much worth a visit.

    Our dishes were excellent as usual. The noise was a bit difficult to deal with; I'm not sure what can be done about that. Nice bread pudding dessert, but with a bit too much chocolate. Good nonetheless.

    Disappointing experience. Host acted like he was doing us a favor and greeted by cutting us off and saying we are only seating in the bakery. I should have been informed that would be the case especially since I requested a banquette. Service was rushed and acted unhappy to be working.

    Cocktails were okay. Food was outstanding. I recommend the mushroom vol-au-vents. Steak frites and salmon also were excellent. Service was haphazard. My wife and I were ignored for the first 15 minutes and had to grab a host to get someone. The staff seemed frenetic. Probably just a bad night with too few people working or too many new people working. Hope it’s just an aberration. Would give it a second try.
