The Bavarian Entertainment Quarter
The waitress who seated us could not find a booking in the system under my name. I explained to her I booked through open table and showed her my confirmation email. She proceeded to say something about open table under her breath and told me they still don’t have the booking however she was able to find a table for us.
The Waitress that looked after our table was extremely flirtatious with the male at our table, it was noticed eapesciaply by the teenagers sitting with us. In fact when she came back to ask how our meals were, she made eye contact ONLY with the same male at our table and really only asked him about his meal and no one else. So very unprofessional - if that is your tact we’ll youve just lost a large family.
Amazing food and great service! Prices might seem a little high at first, but the portions are large and the quality is amazing so it definitely makes it worth it.
Always great although they forgot my pretzel, they apologised. All good!
Booked online for 7:30pm but still had to wait in line for a considerable length of time approx 20mins - then received a message (while standing in the queue) to say that we were late and that our booking for 10 people would be cancelled. Surely more staff needed to address queues particularly when heavily booked. It would be far less chaotic! It was a busy night post AFL game granted but you need to accomodate guests that have booked in advance. Perhaps an extra staff member checking the line for those that have a booking to speed up the process? The maitre de was checking bookings and seating people so would disappear with each group and then return to look up the next booking. It took 20 mins just to get to the front of the queue and then we had to wait to find a table - even though we had booked. Not a very seamless or practical way to run front of house. First impression guys!!!
To be frank - We were really disappointed with our dining experience. We ordered a sharing platter, and were given plates the size of a Tea Saucer to eat with. When I requested bigger plates, I was advised that they had none. I suggested maybe they could find some the same as the people dining next to us? They obliged. The food was ok - For $71 I expected a little more. The Pork Belly was nice, the Pork Knuckle was so dried out we were unable to eat it. A 4 out of 10.
We all enjoyed dinner.
All our waiters were very friendly.
Staff efficient and food good before a Swans game next door at the SCG
Great place but downsides for us were lots of children & Limited healthier food options
Overdone wings, overdone pork, unpleasant mash, pepsi was watered down and the cup was so filled with ice there was literally 3 mouthfuls of drink, unorganised staff, underwhelming food, overpriced.
Food was amazing, only one thing is we had to wait for one hour for our 2 dishes to come out which we did not like at all. Maybe the waiter should say when your about to place your order that hey there will be an hour or half hour wait on your meals is that okay? when they are busy before taking the order. if we knew at least that would have helped abit, not sitting there anxiously waiting & waiting.
Excellent beers and food. Get there for happy hour
Excellent Food, drinks and service.
Only thing that spoiled the whole experience was that it was extremely noisy outside.
Could not hold a proper conversation between our family, all tables around us were very loud.
Might have helped if the plastic covers were put up so the noise could dissipate
Get in early before the Swans games
The Bavarian is both family friendly as well as able to cater for individuals and couples of all ages. The drinks cater for the avid beer drinker and wine connoisseur. The menu is perfect for the variety of peoples tastes and always assured of a good serving that would satisfy any appetite
Handy for location after the AFL next door at SCG. Wait staff need to keep checking if diners want more drinks
Just thought everything was really lazy. I asked for sauce on side of my kids meals instead of in it and they put it in. Didnt complain.
My son had schnitzel and chips and sauce. The tub of sauce came like it was from someone else dish. The waitress promised it wasnt used before and was surprised herself. But seriously who gets alittle tub with sauce just around this side.
I order a salad. I asked for cucumber and tomato. Got no cucucumber and 1 tomato. Was happy to pay a leave
Service was fantastic
Service was very good and the food enjoyable
It's our "go to" place to eat before the AFL or Cricket. Good no-nonsense food. Choice of beer and other drinks is good.
We always wash it down with a metre of Schnapps!
service is incredibly slow; for drinks and food. would not recommend this venue for anyone who is thirsty, hungry or short on time.
There was a restricted menu. This was disappointing.
Authentic german food with a reasonable price tag.
Had a table booked, when we sat down we were advised there was an hour to hour and half wait for food
Decided to stay for a drink, champagne was served in a midi style glass and the wrong beer was bought over, advised team of this who argued that we must had ordered the wrong thing...
Wouldn't go back!
Booked for 630pm. We arrived at 6 and let them know we were there in case they had a table. They happily gave us an empty table (great you think.. very obliging).. but at 638 brought us the bill and said we had to leave because we were in someone's reserved table. We explained we were almost finished and that we couldn't possibly have to go and showed our booking confirmation. The waitress apologized but said we were in someone's table so we left
Very average for the price.
Outstanding generous food & fantastic beers. Must try the Bavarian Tasting Plate, the Bavarian Bier Flight, and the Apple Strudel!
Excellent food and drinks served by friendly and warm staff. Will definitely be going back to the Bavarian Bier Cafe
We were welcomed instantly. Out waiter was a pleasure and made out dining experience a comfortable and happy one!
Unfortunately a couple of items were missing from a design your own salad item and there was not enough information given about the special of the day having no side items included.
Good fun, decent food, tasty beer. Great for a group catch up. Beer is a little on the pricy side.
I booked for a group of 9, including 3 kids, as a pre-show lunch. The afternoon started with the waitress being unable to locate our booking in their system.
We were then informed that the regular menu was not available, which eradicated all of the "healthier" options.
I had a cheese burger which was a mistake.
I can't recommend this restaurant.
The waitress was lovely. Very friendly and efficient. Great special on the night we dined. Wasn't a fan of the sour dough garlic bread and thought a little expensive for size but overall was lovely. The vibe was good.
Great service from super friendly and assistive staff from the moment we went in.
Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Food was yum and lots of it the Bavarian tadting platter says its for 1 however I could not finish mine especially after a few beers.
Good place to go before or after a show in the area.
Great service, our children were welcomed and looked after well. My only negative is that everything is an additional charge- fries, sauce, ice cream etc
We were rushed along the whole time by our waiter & what was supposed to be a relaxing dinner with family turned in to a 45 min in and out rushed meal. Waiter was pushy, taking our orders and constantly suggesting different dishes, trying to upsell other items, and then kept "checking in" on us every 5 min and wouldn't leave us alone. If you weren't quick they would take the plates away before you've finished and then when we were still relaxing with drinks the waiter said he'll bring the bill!!
Not even a good German menu
The staff who looked after us was friendly and helpful when needing help ordering off their menu.
Service was fast and efficient and I'm glad I booked early as by the time we finished the queue was out the door.
Also one of the BEST Pork knuckles I have ever had and kids chicken schnitzels were great as well and a good size for them.
