OMG, the people from Bestia do it again! Four of us went for two birthdays and we had the best time. The place is so cool, we sat outside on a large patio. We started with drinks. I had the NISSIM (muscat, pineapple, lemon, herbs, honey, soda water)_Delicious. Its on the sweet side because of the pineapple juice but we all loved it. Then we had HUMMUS (creamy & chunky garbanzo bean puree, green & red chili paste, pita), which was good. The SCALLOP CRUDO (pomegranate molasses, citrus, serrano chile oil, charred cucumber, mint, black sesame) was so light and wonderful. It has a kick to it but I loved this. next, ARTICHOKE & CUCUMBER( orange blossom vinaigrette, celery, rose pickled onion, toasted sesame, marigold) I really wanted to like this but the celery and cucumber overtook the taste. I didn't taste the artichoke at all. We all loved the ROASTED CAULIFLOWER (hawaij chile sauce, lime leaf, crème fraiche serrano dip, pistachios, dried flowers) and the carrots that are new to the menu. Finally we got the SLOW ROASTED LAMB NECK SHAWARMA (tahini, red zhoug, pickled vegetables, laffa) that was so tender and flavorful. We ended our delightful evening with two desserts: STRAWBERRY SUMAC & SWEET CHEESE PASTRY (pistachio ice cream, labneh cream, cured sumac) and ALMOND BLOSSOM HONEY NOUGAT GLACÉ (candied mandarinquat, pinenut nougatine, minted citrus salad)> Both were good but the Strawberry pastry was a favorite. You will love this place.

First of all, I am very appreciative that the restaurant was punctual with everyone's reservations. We never felt rushed. In fact, this is a restaurant where you need a minimum of 2 hours to slowly taste and appreciate all the wonderful spices and the variety of flavors of each dish.
There were 4 of us, so we ordered 8 plates, which meant 8 different servers! what a treat! Each server carefully explained what we ordered and recommended how to eat it, as well as reminding us that the plates are to be shared. Darn it! I could have eaten everything by myself.
Turnips - excellent
Oyster Mushrooms - Wow ! delicious
Pita bread - evil. So we placed a 2nd order
The lambshank - what the ? soooooo tender, it just flaked off as soon as our forks touched it.
Oh, and we got a kick out of the cocktails with names from the Old Testament.
This restaurant was SO worth the 3 month wait.
I cannot wait to return.....this time, to try the Duck.

I would have given 5 stars across the board, however our server was not to be desired. He truly made us feel like he was doing us a 'favor' by gracing us with his presents. He attitude was poor, it seemed like he absolutely hated his job and he was going to take it out on the guests. I would think an establishment of this stature would only demand the best, the server was far from that.

Food was outstanding. Service was below expectations. Our server basically abandoned our table for almost 30 min and rarely came back to follow up with us. In addition our order choices were uneven. We had way too much meat in quantity compared to all the other dishes and the waiter could have guided us better on these recommendations.

Love the interior design, and the service. The food is creative, thoughtful, delightfully tasty, and plated beautifully. However, they chose to play extremely aggressive trap music at deafening levels, with no thought to acoustic treatments. This left our group befuddled. Were they trying to turn tables faster? Encouraging us to drink more? Made us think of the psychology of music. Otherwise an amazing experience.

Was very good. But when we arrive the keep us waiting for the table. The send is to the bar but it was all reserved. We could get a drink or seat while waiting.

But out of that was great!

Interior decor is great, but the patio is a bit neglected in the design department. Nice view of the 4th Street bridge though, so it has potential....

We went here for my fiance's birthday and sat at the counter. We absolutely loved everything we ate and drank. The duck hummus, the blistered pita bread, the lamb flat bread and tagine-- we couldn't get enough! Our server Michael was prompt and friendly too. If I could go again, I would try to get a proper table. Sitting at the counter was a nice experience, however some may be turned off by the team members shouting order confirmations to each other. I understand they are just doing their jobs, but it does take away from the romantic and welcoming ambience of the restaurant.

Just excellent across the board. Service, wine list, and of course the food. Cauliflower, hummus, lamb shawarma, prawns—I’m drooling just thinking about it. Go ASAP, even if you have to eat at 10:30. Just go.

I found it odd that the restaurant initially sat us at a patio table, when the restaurant had just opened and there were many inside tables available. The inside ambiance is much more beautiful.

Truly one of the best dining experiences in LA! From the service to the quality and freshness of every dish. Our server recommended that we order a dip, a few appetizers, a flat bread and an entree. We ordered the duck hummus with pita bread. The pita bread was so light and airy and the hummus was so perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Then we had the prawns with zucchini tzatziki, the grilled oyster mushrooms, and the cauliflower. The cauliflower was a favorite among everyone at the table. We ordered the malawach and it was perfect with the egg and dips. Main course was the lamb neck shawarma so perfectly cooked and flavorful. Last we ordered the orange blossom ice cream. Our waiter recommended it and it was the perfect end to our meal. I was also satisfied with the portions. Although Bavel is expensive, the portion sizes were fantastic and we felt like we were really getting our moneys worth. Definitely will go again.

The meal was way too expensive for what you get. The pork dish looked like we were given leftovers. The only thing that makes it semi-worth visiting is if you're seating inside the restaurant. We were seated in the patio.

Made a reservation and was seated in the patio which leaves a lot to be desired design wise. But we were seated ahead of our reservation time and had great service. The food was amazing and so flavorful. The cocktails were very good too, although a bit pricey. I would definitely return and recommend.

It was a disappointment, to come to the restaurant by 5:30 PM during the weekday, Tuesday, after 3 weeks of waiting, and not to be able to have a regular table but just a high one.
It would have been nice to have a chance to choose a table or some heads up.

I didn’t think the staff was extremely friendly and I was under the impression that they were rushing us to order and eat and pay quickly. I get it they are busy but we waited 3 months for this reservation and we were in and out within an hour and the food was good but honestly nothing mind blowing.

Checking in for our reservation, reception was unfriendly, which unfortunately set the mood for the rest of the night. Our server was inauthentic and became progressively hostile (?) with us for no reason, he even rolled his eyes at my friend because she wasn’t sure what she wanted to order to drink and requested to look at both the wine list & cocktail menu. He also hovered over while we signed so he could see how much tip we were going to leave. Food was good, but not paced well. Wasn’t the experience I was expecting.

A little bit of a bumpy start but amazing nonetheless. While waiting for our table at the bar could not get anyone to notice us and to take our order. After a long while we were told that someone would come to take our order but took awhile. Very confusing, not sure how customers can order their drinks! We had late evening reservation so unfortunately they were out of their duck. Amazing sommelier turned us to great wines. Great food, nice space.
