About this restaurant

  • Innovative
  • Neighborhood gem
  • Good for special occasions
Located in Denver’s vibrant RiNo neighborhood, BearLeek is the debut restaurant from Chef Harrison Porter, joined by CDC Rema Maaliki and Beverage Director Carlos Hugo Meza. Driven by the team's global culinary journey—from New York to Melbourne to Peru—BearLeek brings curiosity and creativity to every plate. The name, inspired by the German word for ramp, bärlauch, symbolizes renewal, growth, and new beginnings. The menu reimagines familiar flavors with playful twists while the inventive bar program mirrors the kitchen’s seasonality through high-technique cocktails and a thoughtful wine list. Designed with artistic energy and warmth, BearLeek invites guests to share in a dining experience that’s globally inspired, deeply personal, and delightfully unexpected.

We had a great dinner at BearLeek to celebrate my sister's birthday. Our server was friendly and informative and helped us make great food choices for vegetarians in our group. We dined early on Thursday evening and it wasn't too noisy. The chicory salad and onion tart were standouts. I would definitely dine here again.

We had a great time at BearLeek. We booked at the chefs counter so had a fabulous view of the kitchen. All the staff were so lovely and made great recommendations. The food was so delicious and so were the cocktails and mocktails we had. We will def be back on our next trip to Denver.

We went for my birthday and sat at the Chef’s counter. We were greeted warmly and they gave us a little celebratory sip for my birthday! Nice! We had a selection of apps and midis. We were blown away by the tuna crudo and duck liver Madeline’s. Such a fun place, and we will certainly be back.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. It was our first time here. Unfortunately, almost every dish and drink we ordered felt too sweet. Part of this may somewhat link back to what we ordered, but very sweet madeleine cookies (which we just inferred would be savory) were not a good start with an first dish and we felt this trend continued almost the entire dinner. In addition, both raw dishes were very conceptually flawed and had no textural differences -- simply soft, on soft, on soft. Most of the food felt like a first draft by a young chef. We wanted to have a better experience than we did. We would hesitate to return to this restaurant again in the future, unfortunately. ***P.S. The restaurant responded privately in a very defensive manner. Extremely disappointing. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT.**

We had such a great anniversary experience! From the champagne toast when we came in to the gummy bears after dessert, it was such a great dinner! We loved the bread with the bear butter, tuna crudo with the smoked ricotta, burrata with chili crisp and sesame crackers, crab pasta with bright lemon and the star was the fish with fresh herbs and salad. We ended with the best flan of my life. We loved our seat at the chefs table and all the servers were super nice!
