Belvedere feeds a growing global appetite for authentic local encounters intertwined with paddock to plate. Through thoughtful interactions, we will create experiences that talk to the providence of the site (through art and design) and to the produce we serve.

The site’s colonial backstory serves as an entrée to its incarnation as ‘The Belvedere’ – a beloved Art Deco dance hall that shaped the city’s social fabric from the late 1930s. This story is memorialised in mesmerising chain art – featuring a 7.5m x 3m Kriskadecor panel.

Paying homage to this memory, the new ‘Belvedere’ will take its rightful spot as a modern-day gathering place, inviting travellers, corporate crowds and locals to celebrate the best of Tasmania.

From paddock to seashore, the menu will showcase the Apple Isle’s rich bounty of produce, and Cape Grim Beef will share centre stage with Meander Valley Chicken, local cheeses and artisan products.

Schnitzel was overcooked and very dry. Salt and pepper calamari was overcooked and tough. Services was great. Nice restaurant pity the food wasn't good.

We booked a table for their Oyster Happy Hour. While running HH from 4pm-6pm, we arrived right after 5pm and were seated. Once our waiter came over for our orders, we learned they were sold out of their oysters. It was a bummer, so we pivoted and ordered a cheese platter and 2 glasses of sparkling wine from their happy hour menu, which were pretty good. Then our last drinks were the Sauvignon Blanc which was also very nice. The restaurant was very busy and service a bit slow, but the ambiance and vibe were excellent. I’d go back and make sure to get there right at 4pm for oysters!

It was a beautiful atmosphere not noisy I could have a conversation food was Absalutely Devine 100% recommend it was a wonderful experience

My expensive 'medium' cooked steak was 'rare' and inedible for me. The fries we dried out and way overcooked. I sent the steak back after requesting it to be cooked more and after nearly 15 minutes it had not been returned. We left refusing to pay for the steak. We have dined in this restaurant many times before without issue and will probably never return. Seriously, how hard is it to cook a steak?

Even though it was Sunday and it was a modified menu I still found a few good choices. My calamari was beautifully presented and very tasty!! Service was outstanding and I love the feel of the place. Ambience is on point. The best thing was The Belverdere Spritz- if you drink I highly recommend this cocktail!! It was delicious and fresh.

We had a fantastic dining experience. The food was amazing, with generous portions and excellent quality, all at great value for money. Every dish was fresh, well-presented, and full of flavour. The waitress was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She happily answered our questions, offered great recommendations, and provided attentive service throughout the meal without being intrusive. The combination of delicious food, reasonable prices, and outstanding customer service made for a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant to others.
