I recently tried @betweenus.sd in North Park, San Diego and FELL IN LOVE with all their dishes and drinks - seriously there were no misses, I mean just look at the green of that matcha!!     Unfortunately even with the reservation it took us ~20 minutes to be seated which we didn’t mind but then the kitchen was so backed up it was close to an hour before our group received our orders. They even messed up one order and switched pancakes to a French toast. The food was decent, however one of the hamburg curries the added steak went cold. Was really looking forward to eating here was disappointed with the service. Not sure what happened.

    The food and presentation was consistent and absolutely delicious. Service staff seemed very rushed - bumped into my table or me at least four times. I had to lean over in my seat to avoid getting bumped by the waitress whenever she walked by. Would return to try other food items on the menu nonetheless.

    Food was decent, a bit more expensive than I’d like but nothing was bad. My main issue was they seated us next to a window and the sun was constantly beaming on me. I tried to move or adjust my seat but no other tables were available and they ran out of umbrellas and space to move. Made the entire experience horrible. Please make sure that all tables have shade because no one wants to eat while sitting directly in sunlight for an hour.

    I would’ve given 5 stars across the board, but we walked in and on one greeted us at all. We stood at hostess stand for several minutes. The worst part was that we saw the bartendress and she saw us but said nothing at all. Went to her and asked if we seat ourselves. She said someone would be with us shortly. Now why in the world would she not have just said “hello” and the same thing minutes before. It would’ve changed the entire feeling. It was morning and it was almost empty in there so it couldn’t have been just that she was exhausted from a long day. YOU are the first impression and you left a bad one. Fortunately, our waiter was awesome and very attentive. The food was unique and quite good and other staff was helpful and checked on us too. The decor was gorgeous. I would go back on another special occasion. Even though we noted it on our reservation and they didn’t do or say anything. This place is hot and new, but it’s not inexpensive, so they should dial in these details before more people don’t want to tolerate these little misses. There is too much competition out there to have staff snub new customers at the door.

    Great experience and beautiful restaurant. We loved the open-air vibe. Our server was incredible and gave us the best seat in the house! The food was delicious. We especially loved the wings, seabass, and the pork belly sandwich. The cheesecake dessert was amazing too!

    The food was decent, the service however was laughable. Genuinely one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had if I could give them 0 stars I would. They neglected to get us water for the first 10-15 minutes and when we politely asked we were given attitude by one of the employees and then when our waitress came she filled the glass up a quarter of the way up and splashed water all over the place then haphazardly placed the pitcher on the table not bothering to clean anything up while rushing to leave even though the place wasn’t that busy at the time. I would skip this place just for the service alone because the food quite honestly isn’t good enough to make up for it.

    Our experience with this restaurant was disappointing, especially considering we made a reservation through OpenTable for 1:00 PM. We arrived about 10 minutes early and let the receptionist know we had a 1:00 PM reservation. She told us we would be seated at 1:00. When 1:05 passed, I approached her again, only to be told that our table was being cleaned. Another five minutes went by, so I asked the owner, and I was given the same explanation—that our table was still being cleaned. Meanwhile, we watched other guests being seated. There were only two of us, and I have to ask: what is the point of making a reservation for a specific time if the restaurant cannot accommodate you at that time? Unfortunately, the receptionist’s demeanor made the experience even worse. She came across as extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming. Customer service matters, regardless of how popular a restaurant may be at the moment. Restaurants thrive because of their customers, and popularity is never guaranteed. There will always be another brunch spot waiting to become the next favorite. The one bright spot was Tiffany, our server. She was wonderful, attentive, and did an amazing job. She deserves recognition for providing the kind of service we expected from the beginning. Overall, the service from the receptionist was poor, and the experience left us disappointed. A restaurant’s popularity may bring people through the door, but treating customers well is what keeps them coming back.

    Everything was wonderful (food, ambiance, live music), except for the time it took to receive our food after we ordered. We had a noon reservation and when we sat, our waitress notified us right away that mains were taking about 30 minutes to receive entrees. It took about 45. Not sure if this is normal, or just for the day.
