We sat in the restaurant for an hour and the server kept serving other people before us. We did not even get served drinks and we had to get out own menus
This was a wonderful experience. I had Parmesan chicken with shrimp and sausage. The food was amazing. In addition we had a bottle of wine, it was Humberto Asti Muscato. The taste was so amazing that we bought a bottle of wine to go. Our server was Michael Williams.
Great service, ambiance and parking! Food was okay I had the crab cakes, they were flavorful, but the pasta was too greasy. Margarita was FANTASTIC!!!
Before the Symphony, had a nice dinner at Birraporetti's. The Veal Piccata special with the house Caesar was excellent. The staff wore masks and were very good about social distancing the tables. Thank you for a lovely meal.
This place is always our favorite! We travel an hour a couple times a year to eat here.
Birraporetti's always gets 5 stars in my book. I was disappointed by the limited wine list available and the menu seemed smaller. I know it is because of the health scare. Can't wait for that to be over so we can enjoy our fave restaurant again.
Large portions of excellent tasting Italian food. My Mom and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Christmas decor was beautiful and tasteful.
Great food and great service! We look forward to going back.
The food wasn’t the best and only half of the staff wore a mask.
We came for the music at Cezanne’s (drinks, food, and service there was excellent and the music was memorable and AWESOME!), and we decided to go upstairs for dinner. Wonderful night!!!
That night at Cezanne’s downstairs, hosted by Woody Witt, we heard Houston’s incredible jazz guitarists, Mike Wheeler, Paul Chester, and Greg Petitto. AMAZING!
While the decor is dated and service was lacking, for a slow evening, the food made up for those pitfalls. Portions are usually healthy and filling.
Birraporetti’s is conveniently located downtown in the Theatre District. But, as always, they are indifferent about seating you. There were 4 of us & were seated at an awkward round table for 8 when there appeared to be tables of 4 available. And I had made a reservation! Then they are indifferent about serving you the food that you’ve ordered. Our food was hot & tasty. But we had to remind them to bring the drinks & appetizer that we had ordered.
Awful one waiter no ac in Restraunt a portable unit inside so staff aware it was awful bugs flying on food
We rsvp on open table no warning there was no ac
It took 30 minutes to get the check

All of the food was on point! Services was fine.
Birraporetti's is about the best place to catch a meal before the symphony, theater, or opera or a night cap after. The food is very good, reasonably priced, and served well. Like most restaurants in the Theater District, Birraporetti is struggling. Let's make this your place to dine in the Theater District so that its doors stay open and we all have a great place to dine before the show.
We were concerned that our server wore his mask below his nose. Since we are both retired nurses, we instructed him in the proper way of wearing a mask and explained the rationale behind masks in the midst of a pandemic. The server was very cooperative and appreciative.
It is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Houston, Food and service is always great. It has a very nice atmosphere too. It is good for business meetings and romantic outings both.
If you are considering this place, please don’t. Food was mediocre, at best, and severely overpriced. The service was poor. There was no music or HVAC... the best part about our visit was leaving.
Sons birthday before he ships out for basic training. We normally go at Christmas but since he will be gone, we came early. Always great arrive and great meals.
Amazing and consistently wonderful food and service.
The Google maps times said restaurant was open until 11 pm... Open Table allowed us to make a 9:45 pm reservation, and we got there and the restaurant was closed!
We now live within walking distance. First time here. Good was excellent! The service was spectacular! Not busy butt we are early and the theater is closed. Great dining experience!
Such a lovely restaurant and heartbreaking experience with it being so empty but it was private, food was excellent and service as well
We have gone to Birraporetti’s for 40+ yrs... it is always delicious & great service! I hope Houstonians will patronize this Houston favorite.. as it serves our Theater District well and the Arts District is not opening back up until December/January!
Please support this restaurant & go there for your dining enjoyment. Our Downtown restaurants are not going to survive if we don’t go to them!! What a loss to our downtown area. It makes me very sad that we as a city don’t go downtown for dining!
Love this place. Clean, live music on Fridays. Very calm and not hectic. Food is always on point!
Great service ever!
The food and service was outstanding the only thing I have a concern on is the parking as I had people that could not make the trek to the theater district we had to park and walk about six blocks so just be aware of parking.
We eat dinner here before a show. On the positive side I will say that they are very efficient in getting you out before showtime. However, there was not a lot about the meal that was very good. The food was mediocre, and served lukewarm. The service was not good.In short, it was just alright. There are a lot of options for restaurants within walking distance of the Hobby Center, I suggest trying a different one
We were there for dinner before a Hobby Center event. Good experience as always. Been in Houston 32 yrs.
We always go to Birraporetti's before going to the Alley Theatre. It never fails to give us a good meal in a lovely atmosphere; and still we're in time for the show.
we were eating before our Alley Theather play and the waiter was very accommodating. The pizza we ordered was very good , white others had a variety of meals which there were no complaints.
We have eaten in this restaurant for 30 years probably eight times a year. We often wonder why none of the staff ever seems to be the same except for the gentleman who directs traffic. As many times as we eat there we love the pizza it would be nice to be welcomed or recognized staff is generally pleasant but no one goes out of their way. It is very disappointing to us. It is convenient to Theater and we do really enjoy the pizza so we keep going back
Love this place! Great food!
Horrible service. Waiter admitted that my drink came in a dirty glass. Residue from old drink. Food and drink orders came out wrong. Lady that bussed the table did so with us at the table balancing the dirty dish container on her hip and asked us to hand her the dirty dishes. Whole experience was disappointing. Food is better at Olive Garden. Only went here because very few things open downtown on a Sunday so it was an easy choice. But never again.
It was good and had a nice feel to the place
Service very slow. Waited a long time before a waiter showed up. Then, it took a very long time for drinks and barely got the garlic bread before the food came out.
Too slow overall
Had some service issues. Biggest one was the server refilling a glass that had rum and coke with tea. Never seen that one before.
Every time we come to the theater district we love coming to eat at birraporettis and it’s always amazing!
If - you are not too concerned with the quality of the food. Location and dining early were in our favor. Waiter was cordial but a bit pushy on drinks and appetizer suggestions. Menu prices were ok, but quality of food was B to B-
Dinner before the ballet-exceptional location, great ambiance-comfortable seating, big windows and great service. We love the caprese salad, and the Artichoke Spinach dip was amazing. 3-Course special menu was great.
It is our go-to spot for pre-ballet food! Thank you!
