The food was superb and the service attentive. One in our party is vegetarian and she was impressed with the food she ordered. The offer large portions and the wine list is phenomenal. We will go back again soon.

This restaurant tries very hard and for the most part, pulls off a nice, flavorful menu. Service is attentive, pace is good, menu interesting. Felt odd on this day due to emptiness and lack of certain amenities due to strict adherance to COVID protocol. And, air system had some issue... so open windows and doors.

This place had a great Valentines Day menu and they were open on Sunday. They were very flexible with our scheduling. The food was a 3 course meal for 2 and the price was reasonable (+$230 w/tip included w/out wine or alcohol). Definitely plan to go back.

Food was great and the atmosphere nice.

Weather was glorious; therefore we asked to be seated outdoors at spaced tables. We preferred a slow paced lunch that was respected. Food was attractive and excellent. Bistro Menil is a favorite to which I’ll return.

We have been talking about visiting Bistro Menil for over a year and finally made a reservation. On Saturday night, we had a very good experience. The service was friendly and efficient, the Chef came by and had a nice conversation. The menu is not huge but offered enough choices to make all of us happy. We shared deserts and they were all very good. We will definitely come back.

Autant ce 1er dejeuner sur la petite terrasse sympathique du bistrot m’avait donné envie de revenir, autant dîner en intérieur dans cette grande salle vide ... ne m’a pas plus motivé que cela.

Le bistrot est pour moi plutôt un lieu convivial pour dejeuner hors de Downtown ou prendre un verre après une exposition : les plats sont bons, l’ambiance est calme et sereine sous les arbres, la musique agréable.

Le soir, ce n’est pas du tout la même poésie ...

Always a great experience

Convenient, private parking. Dining reservation honored quickly. Very pleasant view and spacious seating in an area between the "main" restaurant and the open patio. Relaxed service (we were in no hurry). Excellent menu. Nicely served wine. I especially liked the eggplant fries and asparagus crepes. I received a fabulous, complementary lemon tart because I mentioned that my chicken crepes were warm rather than hot. Very good cappuccino.

We asked for a table outside even though the rain was starting and stopping. Our lunch was delicious. We did ask for the outside music to be turned down a bit and our waiter, who was very attentive quickly obliged. Our lunch was the perfect way to celebrate Christmas with friends safely. Thank you, Bistro Menil. You never disappoint.

We were visiting from out of town. I wanted to experience a neighborhood gem and Bistro Menil delivered! The Octopus was delish! As a matter of fact, so was everything else we ordered. I would highly recommend this quaint little spot. A nice change from the normal dining experience.

Absolutely fantastic place in every possible way. Love it. Was pleased to see the social distancing and staff masks implemented. Food is always exceptional and the staff and owner attention is a plus. Atmosphere has a nice, relaxing local feel. The premises are spotless, great location and value. I highly recommend for people to try it. Enjoy.

What a gem of a place! Perfect for brunch or a lunch date. This was an impromptu visit and our first time. The food was amazing and the ambiance, pleasant and unpretentious. We sat outside in view of the Menil gardens and campus. We had cocktails which were delightful. The crab and avocado salad was amazing (that dressing was genius!). Beef shortrib paired with perfect ratatouille warmed the belly and the heart, like Mom’s home cooking! Will come back and do recommend to anyone. Can’t go wrong here!

Good social distancing. Fewer tables mean quieter atmosphere in this usually too noisy dining room. Very courteous and attentive wait staff. Good food.

The wait staff needs to be more attentive. It seems as it they are not working as a team . Requests for ice and sweetener produced no results and I had to go to the bar myself. This was in contrast to the food which was very tasty, well proportioned and attractively plated. Lovely location.

This was only my second time to have lunch at Bistro Menil and it was just as good as I remembered! The Lemon-Thyme Chicken was perfect...crispy skin, moist meat. Lovely, serene surroundings and great service. All of the staff are friendly and courteous and very safe with mask wearing and service. I hope to try dinner on my next visit here.
