If you have not yet experienced Bistro Romano and Chef Michael DeLone, you must add it to your list. The history, the space, and of course the fantastic food envisioned and prepared by Chef Michael and his staff are outstanding!

Bistro looked run down..servers were unimpressive. Tiny little votive on table - cheap. The website made the Bistro look quaint and a vibrant place, I found it dreary and would not go back.

Went for my first time last week. Loved it! I ordered the Bronzino special. Delicious! Perfect sear on the skin. Calamari appetizer was fantastic! Great atmosphere, perfect for date night or a special occasion. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back!

Dined at B.R. periodically and decided to return after a long absence. The evening was an overall enjoyable experience. It was a flashback for us having dined with B.R. while dating over 29 years ago. The caesar salad trolley clickety clacking over the stone floor brought smiles to our facing as we remembered the first time we ordered it. The cocktails and wine list inviting and not pretentious. Each course, looked, smelled and tasted delicious. The octopus and the burata, followed by the veal and the duck were our choices, and nothing dissapointed. Chocolate custard, coffees and averna topped off an excellent meal.
The complimentary Limoncello and rose petaled table was a delightful touch.
We look forward to dining B.R. in the near future. A true hidden gem that has stayed well polished.
Bravo, Bistro Romano.

The service was exceptional. Our server Max was excellent. Very passionate about the menu and very well versed about the dishes that are offered. The mushroom soup was phenomenal!!! Anthony, the general manager was very attentive and very personable! It was a wonderful night out! You can't find a place too often where the quality of food and service is superb!!! Will definitely be back!! Thanks max and Anthony for an enjoyable evening!!!

My rlbeal saltimbocca was outstanding so was the drinks and the bottle of wine. Sean the bartender was very accommodating. The seats at the bar were extremely comfortable we chose to stay there to eat our dinner. Outstanding Caesar salad with extra anchovies

It's truly a shame. I've been passionately recommending this restaurant for over six years, but after this past Sunday night I can not. The food, as always, was superb. The general ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Unfortunately, the performance by our server Todd was just...wrong. Let me preface this by saying that the young lady upstairs who sat us and the gentleman who was pouring water were both wonderful. I pretty much felt like Todd was just trying to make us feel like we didn't know a lot about Italian cuisine anytime we said something. For example, when I ordered my drink, he corrected the way I said it...but then had to come back a minute later to ask again which vodka I had requested. His tone (except at the very end when it was time to leave) was just condescending and it had an impact on how I felt about my dining experience and the restaurant overall. In the past, my servers at Bistro Romano have been interactive and full of suggestions. Todd on the other hand just replied to whatever we said in a "matter of fact" approach that we did not deserve as customers.

Overall great restaurant (and cocktails too)

I know this sounds ironic - but the waiter’s efforts at being attentive actually became overbearing , almost to point of annoying .
They need some waiter training

Caesar salad is a specialty made table-side. They should ask patrons hoe much of ingredients they want especially cheese and anchovy sauce/paste.

Our first time at this gem of a restaurant and we will definitely be back. The staff is friendly. The servers are very attentive. Our appetizer, the Short Rib Croquettes were quite good! The Veal Saltimobocca was tender and the whipped potatoes were a dream. My husband had the seafood mixture in the saffron broth- excellent. Drink specials were innovative. My own complaint is that we were seated upstairs by the bar. I didn't know that the main dining room was downstairs. Next time I will be sure to ask specifically for that room, as I hear it is quite lovely.

Food and ambiance was amazing!! Service was good. No errors but it just felt like the server skipped the details. I ordered two different types of wine and the server didn’t get a new glass for the change in wine. Also, it felt like the server dismissed us when we didn’t want the upsells to our dinner. The manager was super friendly and helpful.

This restaurant is INCREDIBLE! The most amazing, decadent dishes with perfectly executed Italian Staples (like Caesar salad).

Not an ‘everyday’ restaurant, but if you are looking for something special and honestly different, here is the prefect place.

Honestly I don’t know how they outdo themselves every time we dine at BR. Beyond SCRUMPTIOUS! Beautiful photo worthy presentation, served piping hot as it should be ( so many restaurants fail miserably here ) , so many flavors and textures that you are super satisfied early into the meal.
Order the duck or anything for that matter! You’ll be planning your next visit after the first bite !

My wife and I were in town for an event at the Academy of Music and stopped here afterwards. We love Bistro Romana and have always had great meals there. Our waiter was rather brief and did not explain very much about the evenings specials, while we heard other waiters go into lengthy explanations of the menu items. He just wasn’t very personable...maybe just an off night for the guy. Nevertheless it didn’t detract from our dining experience in any significant way. We’ll be back!

It’s not fair to a restaurant to have a first visit decided by social media reviews. Having said that, searching on line I discovered bistro Romano is listed as one of the most romantic Italian restaurants in the city..

We loved the intimate bar, with great Carisma. Bartenders were busy yet attentive.
We grew bit concerned when we past our reservation time.
At the 20 minute mark I inquired about seating. Hostess stand seemed complexes that I was still in the bar area waiting. Manager happen to come bye at same time and fortunately found sitting for us.

The chef selection was our choice and we were not disappointed. Enjoyed every bit of it!
Servers were busy but took time to be fun and attentive.

Table for two was a big cramp along the wall more like a luncheon Café in a restaurant. That would probably be our only issue. Would not like to sit at such a small table if I return

They stuck us right at the table right by the main door and behind the wine cases. Constantly had to keep moving my seat for waiters to get bottles of wine. I have been to bistro Romano before and was able to get chicken with my gnocchi dish before and this time the waitress said you can’t do didn’t understand that. Overall was expecting a lot more experience and good wise for the the price.

My wife and I went to Bistro a Romano for the first time recently. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food despite being a little hesisrant given the menu choices. The service was good and the food was above average. I would not do the Caesar- it was nothing special. Both of our pastas were excellent and our dessert was good. One thing I will say is that you do not get a lot. My pasta was 24 dollars and was still quite hungry after dining. It was way overpriced especially given all of the good Italian options that the city has to offer. Overall a nice experience but a little too pricey to be coming back any time soon.
