The lunch was outstanding. The waitstaff is very accommodating to my dietary restrictions need. Definitely will go back .
Very clean & bright setting with white furnitures and wall. Open kitchen. Seats are too close. Dishes are very creative. Lots of novel ingredients as well.
First time here due to Restaurant Week. Service was good but the waiters seemed tired of Restaurant Week. No enthusiasm... Food was great. More like a tasting menu. Reception entrance crowded but the staff did an amazing job taking the excess coats to their second closet/hanger. What was truly amazing is how they rotated the coats. Right when we wee about to leave, the coats were upstairs waiting for us. Amazing!
My only complaint was the bathroom. Busy night, should had someone doing quick clean ups. With the weather, floor was not attractive. Bathroom had a cute place to hang your purse but it was broken. Don’t know why, but that was very irritating for a Restaurant of this scale.
Heard great things about the restaurant, and food. Went there for restaurant week. Service was great, But it couldn’t make up for the terrible food. For dessert we had apple cider vinegar ice cream, and it’s as disgusting as you would think. The vinegar taste but it couldn’t make up for the terrible food. For dessert we had apple cider vinegar ice cream, and it’s as disgusting as you would think. It was like eating cold apple cider vinegar. The entrées were no better, my table tried all the different options and they were not good.
Good portion size
We loved every course prepared for restaurant week and it's hard to choose the best one. Of all the different elements in different dishes we tried I LOVED the mushrooms in miso butter and the fish tempura with the pickled (or just very tart and bright) kale. The wine pairings made perfect sense and our server was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and delightful. So happy we braved the ice storm for an evening at Blackbird. We will be back.
My favorite business lunch location. 3 courses menu is absolutely fantastic, right size of portions and great taste for a reasonable price.
Great, creative menu
$25 price fixe lunch a phenomenal value. Interesting and well prepared food. Excellent service.
We did the restaurant week tasting menu and wines and it was incredible 😍😍
I always enjoy my once a year lunch at Blackbird during restaurant week! The food is beautifully presented and tastes delicious. The $24 prix fixe is a great deal
Wonderful food and ambiance made even greater by our fabulous server, Heather.
This was my second time having dinner at Blackbird and I have to say that I was still amazed with the food, ambiance and service. I strongly recommend it to anyone that is eager to try a a Micheline star restaurant but don’t want to feel that stuffy athmosphere that most upscale places would give you, yet you get the whole experience
We sat unattended for longer than I would expect but the place was busy. Once recognized, we ordered the restaurant week menu and it was amazing. The pork was especially unique and delicious. Overall, we loved Blackbird for a special occasion and liked watching the industrious line chefs creating the masterpiece dishes
Went for Restaurant Week to celebrate our anniversary and had an amazing time. Outstanding food and fantastic service. Not inexpensive but worth the price for a special occasion!
I felt that the food was overall tasty but a trifle fussy— trying a little too hard to combine unusual flavors and textures. Still, it was a culinary experience and the Skate Tempura was absolutely delicious. The service was exemplary, very warm and welcoming.
Any opportunity to indulge at Blackbird is welcomed. The experience is always delightful exciting. The only miss this time around was the sauce (I believe it maple) where the skate wing tempura rested. It simply overpowered the balance of the skate and it lost its flavor.
This was our second time at Blackbird. Our first time was at the Christmas holiday, which we thoroughly enjoyed. This time, we returned to have lunch during Restaurant Week. It was just as amazing as the first time we had visited. The flavors, the presentation and the overall atmosphere are great. The one thing we did not thoroughly enjoy was the apple cider vinegar ice cream that was part of our apple pie pavlova dessert. It was bit too bitter. Not enough to keep us away - we can't wait to go back.
Very nice venue gives me the NYC vibe. I will absolutely visit again.
Relaxing atmosphere. Our food and the server were amazing. I had a hard time picking a good wine to pair with my entree. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave me the perfect recommendation. I had the apple pie pavlova. Loved it as a whole, just be wary of ice cream! It's one of those tastes that takes you for surprise. I hadn't realized it was apple cider ice cream, and tasted it alone. Not my favorite taste. Over all, wonderful experience!
The service is not as good as expected. One of the waiters is kind of rude. Very disappointed.
Restaurant Week meal was fabulous! The wine pairing made it even better.
The food and service were really great! The pork is very recommendable.
Enjoyed Blackbird immensely. The ambiance was professional but not cold the decor was modern and simple. Loved that the servers wore suits and ties. Food was delectable and a wonderful variety of choices for restaurant week. Wine offerings were all inviting - went with the Chardonnay which was excellent. All in all very impressed and would return.
Small restaurant with tables less than a foot apart. We were sitting next to a “loud talker” so until they left I could not hear my dining partner. We had the restaurant week lunch and overall the food was interesting and very tasty. The mushroom veltoue and pork pave were our favorites. Neither of us liked the apple dessert and the texture of the sandy stuff on the chocolate dessert was too hard and off putting. Bread was perfect and the wine on the lunch menu was good.
Superb service and excellent tasting, creative food.
Very good experience. The menu for the restaurant week is pretty good.
We went to Blackbird for a Monday Restaurant Week lunch. It was a fantastic experience! The service was incredible, with very friendly and attentive staff. Our food was fantastic (particularly the chicken sausage dish!). The desserts left a bit to be desired, but overall, it was an extremely delicious meal. I will definitely be back for dinner!
There was so much potential for this place but... My fish just was not a decent cut in one of the courses. The flavor was off-putting and destroyed what was a great sauce. The dish became unbalanced and just kind of set a bad taste for the rest of the meal. When it comes to Michelin stars, I don't expect something like this. Therefore it was overpriced. Also the aesthetic was sterile and it was so loud I couldn't hear the descriptions of any dish or wine.
We enjoyed the most amazing meal at Blackbird last Sunday, during restaurant week. We love Blackbird, but we usually stick with appetizers and mains. On a whim, we ordered the 9-course tasting menu, simply because there did not seem to be a single course that we would not love. Every single item, from the 3 pieces of sushi style fish that served as a "starter" to the 2 squab courses and the final 2 sweets, was outstanding. The presentations were beautiful, and for the most part, portion size was restrained enough to allow us to finish the meal in a leisurely 2+ hours. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly. He and the rest of the team never missed a beat, even though the restaurant was quite full. He recommended a wonderful wine by the glass to accompany the early courses, and then we had a fabulous half-bottle of red with the mains. We left feeling pampered and we will most certainly return again soon. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
The food was soooo good. Amazing flavors and presentation. We loved it!
Our yearly anniversary for the 13th time. We love this place and will be back next year!
Great place with delicious food. I would highly recommend to try this place out at least once.
Wonderful Restaurant Week Dinner—with good portions and a variety of flavors; all well thought-out and excellent. Platings were neat, and not too fussy. Service was great. Overall, the dinner was much better than expected for restaurant week. I’m certain we will return soon to try the regular menu.
Don’t like the food.
