Always a go to going to the theater a wonderful location, a wonderful setting for a brunch or a lunch. The menu is varied, many choices, including a prefix. The staff servers and House are always inviting and professional. The food is always fresh and delicious. My favorite place in the Theater district.

Been here before. Had the pre-fix lunch special, Which is always more than enough and delicious. I had the Fettuccine Bolognese and my guest had the spicy pasta with vodka sauce. Can’t be the great deal before a weekday matinee. Service is always on point. Will be back.

We made a last minute reservation and had an hour to eat before our Broadway Show. We each ordered a pasta and a glass of wine - perfect - and we paid and left with time to spare. We would definitely return. Great location, great food, wonderful staff. Noisy, NYC crowded, so be prepared, and have fun.

They were great except they made a mistake with one of our orders and took a little while to correct it.

This was our fit time at this restaurant and we were very pleased. We had a reservation (made a couple of weeks in advance) for a group of 14. On the day of the reservation someone kindly gave us a call to confirm our reservation and party number, and to make sure we knew at which location to arrive (didn't realize there was more than one), so that's a define plus. Since this was our forst trip to NY we got lost and still arrived at the WRONG location (Chelsea), but the two locations coordinated giving us time to make it to the correct one (Theater). I was never made to feel bad or rushed, they just wanted us to be safe. The ambiance during our reservation was upbeat, the staff and servers were accommodating, understanding, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, high quality, and affordable for the location. (drinks under $20 and average $30 for and entree). It's not a huge menu that left me overwhelmed with choices, but all of our dishes were excellent, and big portion sizes. Don't expect bright lights in the restaurant, and sitting is pretty tight, but the staff knew how to maneuver us around to our seats so that we weren't bumping into other patrons. Our group included five teens and they were all happy with their dishes.

FAQs

Yes, Bocca Di Bacco is a popular, atmospheric choice for date night with candlelit tables, attentive service, and many guests praising the food and cocktails. Expect a lively, intimate vibe (classic Italian dishes, great pastas, branzino and standout desserts), it can be noisy on weekend evenings, so ask for a quieter corner or an earlier seating if you want more conversation-friendly ambiance.

Yes, during peak times (weekend evenings, holidays, curtain times) guests report waits even with reservations, 15–45 minutes is sometimes mentioned. Reservations are strongly recommended and arriving on time or a bit early helps; call ahead if you’re on a tight schedule for a show.

Weekdays are often the best choice, Tuesday through Thursday lunch or an early dinner gives you good food with fewer crowds. If you want the full theatre-district buzz, Friday or Saturday evening is lively, but expect more noise and a busier room.

Generally yes, families and children dine here (brunch and a relaxed dining room make it welcoming), and guests note servers who are good with kids. There isn’t a dedicated kids’ menu widely mentioned, so consider sharing adult portions or calling ahead to ask about child-friendly options and early seating for a calmer experience.

Bocca Di Bacco offers brunch on weekends, weekday lunch, and dinner nightly with later weekend hours. Brunch: Sat–Sun 12:00–4:00 pm. Lunch: Mon–Fri 12:00–4:00 pm. Dinner: Mon–Thu & Sun 4:00–10:00 pm; Fri–Sat 4:00–11:00 pm. Always call ahead for holiday hours or special events.

Warm, lively and classic-Italian, guests describe a beautiful, cozy dining room with candles, upbeat playlists and a festive, theatre-district energy. The vibe is friendly and inviting, but expect higher noise levels on busy nights; if you prefer a quieter meal, request an earlier seating or a corner table.

Busiest: Friday–Saturday evenings, holiday nights and pre-theatre peak times (early evening). Quietest: weekday lunches and early weekday dinners; weekend brunches can be busy but tend to be less hectic than Saturday night. If you want a calmer visit, choose a weekday lunch or an early weeknight seating.

Portions are generally generous, guests frequently mention hearty, shareable appetizers and full-sized entrees (pasta dishes, steak, branzino) that feel like good value for the Theater District. Many diners also note large appetizers and dishes meant for sharing, so bring an appetite or plan to split plates.

Partly, many guests bring families and large groups, and staff often accommodate parties and celebrations. However, the dining room can be tight with tables close together, which may limit aisle space and privacy. If accessibility needs or family seating are a concern, call ahead so the team can try to reserve a more comfortable table or assist on arrival.

Yes, the team regularly handles timing requests for theatre shows, birthday or celebratory touches, large-group seating and allergy accommodations. Because the dining room can be busy and space tight, call ahead with timing, allergy, seating or celebration requests to ensure the staff can prepare and note any important details on your reservation.

Often yes, but holiday hours can vary. Guests report dining here on occasions like Christmas Eve and during Restaurant Week, so the location does open for some holidays and special events. To be certain about a specific public holiday, call the restaurant to confirm hours and availability.

For a quieter experience, choose weekday lunch or an early weekday dinner; several guests recommend the three-course lunch prix fixe for value. If you're going for pre-theatre convenience, arrive earlier (5–6 pm) on show nights, the team is experienced at pacing meals for curtain times but evenings, weekends and holidays are busiest and louder.
