From the OpenTable editors: The scene is just as sizzling as the steaks at this Little Italy stunner. Born & Raised turns the old-school steakhouse genre on its head, displaying photos of rap legends in the all-gold, super-glam dining room. There are steakhouse faithfuls, plus carts that prep vintage cocktails tableside. The result is an OTT steakhouse fit for the highest of high rollers.

“If Frank Sinatra broke bread with Tupac, they’d probably meet at Born & Raised.” This gorgeous, upscale steakhouse is an art deco dream! From the black and white framed photos of old-school rap legends to the warm and opulent interior, the vibes are just everything. 🤌🏾 The open-air rooftop space is just an extension of the dopeness downstairs. Oh and the food?! 🤤 Deliciously proves you can have it all in one spot! 🙏🏾 What we ordered: - Uni Spaghetti (to share) - Bread w/Herbed Garlic Butter (to share) - Drinks: Carl’s Club & Espresso Martini - Steak Diane for 2 (tableside service) - Sides: Potato Purée, Mac & Cheese, Haricot Vert (to share) - Too full for dessert (shocker 🤣) but they have a super-cute dessert cart Experience was top tier ⭐️✔️ #littleitalysandiego #steakhouse #foodinfluencer #lifestyleinfluencer #foodporn #ladiesnight #datenightideas #igers #goodeats #finedining #discoverunder20K #blackgirlswhoblog #reelsoftheday #bestoftheday #nanoinfluencer #minivlog #fyp #foodrecommendations #trending #chicagoinfluencer #chicagofoodie #foodiesofig #chicagofoodblogger #sandiegoeats #california #luxurydining

Born & Raised tends to be liveliest upstairs and around the bars, while the downstairs dining room is generally the quieter side, good to choose downstairs for calmer conversation.
Born & Raised blends Art Deco steakhouse glamour with theatrical, celebratory touches, two distinct floors, rooftop views, tableside cocktails and Caesar prep, and a lively bar area that can be on the louder side.
Yes, Born & Raised offers rooftop outdoor seating; guests describe being seated on the rooftop with city views and patio heaters that made chilly evenings comfortable.
Business casual is the guide, aim for neat, polished attire; many guests do dress up a bit for anniversaries and special occasions.
Born & Raised, Happy Hour Mon–Fri 3:00 pm–4:30 pm. Dinner Mon–Thu 4:30 pm–10:00 pm; Fri 4:30 pm–11:00 pm; Sat 4:00 pm–11:00 pm; Sun 4:00 pm–10:00 pm.
Yes, Born & Raised is a favoured spot for anniversaries and special evenings, with many guests praising rooftop seating, personalized anniversary touches, and attentive service for celebrations.
Portions skew generous, guests note the rib eye is large enough to share between two, sides are easy to share, and very large steaks (for example a 38‑ounce Tomahawk) are offered.
For cocktails and a lively drink scene, weekdays during Happy Hour (Mon–Fri 3:00 pm–4:30 pm) are a great pick, guests frequently praise the restaurant's cocktails and drinks.
Dinner is the best time, plan to sit upstairs on the rooftop for the skyline view and a livelier atmosphere, while the downstairs dining room is a quieter option during dinner service.
