It's quite a tourist trap. Pretty poor service, bringing our bill before we finished eating. Portion sizes are small and prices are Hugh. Go to Flesh & buns instead, so much better

Food was good but nothing exceptional for the price. Service was not great either, we had a table booked but had to wait several minutes, at least 5 mins for someone to seat us even though several waiters and waitresses saw us and continued to go about their work. Finally I grabbed the attention of a gentleman that looked like he was in charge and asked if we can be seated and he commented that he's "very busy and has hundred things to take care of"! Imagine that, the venue is based in Covent Garden, one of the most touristy and busiest places in London and on a Saturday evening, you should expect to be busy and staff accordingly! Finally seated and ordered our food and asked to bring our starters first and after a while instead they brought mains for one of the party and no starters. When questioned they said thats not our order and its a mix up! We eventually got the food we'd ordered but the 15% mandatory Service Charge added to the bill felt like a really bad joke! Service? what Service!

I got the steak, and it was wonderful! Service started out well, but throughout my meal, I had asked someone for another glass of water, to which they said yes. However, several minutes passed, and I did not receive it. I asked two more people who also replied yes but did not receive it. I eventually asked the one employee who seemed to be going back and forth from the bar and was finally given another glass of water. It was a very different style of service for me and not the best.

Food is overpriced and wasn’t very nice. Also got told that the chicken satay is meant to be pink inside. Safe to say it got sent back. Service wasn’t great either, staff couldn’t care less if you were waiting for them or not. Save your money and avoid this place.

Had such a fantastic time at Buns and Buns in Covent Garden! The ambiance is so cool, especially being right inside the market—it really adds to the experience. The service was spectacular; everyone was incredibly attentive and friendly from start to finish. And the food? Absolutely to die for. I especially loved all the bao buns—packed with flavour and perfectly made. The pork belly bun and chicken satay bun were definite standouts. Can’t wait to go back!

The food was great but the service was poor - We were ignored repeatedly. After our main course we had to keep trying to attract the waiters attention.

Sadly our experience got off to a disappointing start as when we got to the host, we were told that there was no record of our booking, although luckily they were able to seat us in the end. They told us they didn’t use OpenTable, which was strange. The food and drinks were quite expensive (£5 for a Diet Coke and £7 for edamame with salt) and the menu is quite limited. However, the food was served quite quickly and it was good on the whole. Unfortunately some of the servers were also quite rude. It came to £80 and we didn’t even have any alcoholic drinks or a great deal of food but it was convenient for a pre-theatre meal (it’s a shame they don’t have any kind of pre-theatre set menus that are better value for money).
