If you like simple french cooking in a relaxed atmosphere, this place is excellent. Everything tasted fresh, clean, heathy and delicious. Highlights were the cod and clafoutis blueberry dessert. Good service, good wine, love the patio. Unpretentious and tasty. The *only* thing I didn't love was the concrete benches with no cushions, kinda harsh, but also it was raining earlier the day I went so maybe the cushions just got wet or something...regardless would absolutely go back tomorrow!

Thank you for your review and your visit, Joanna! When we are expecting rain, we do not put out the cushions in order to keep them from getting wet. Hopefully, the weather will be better on your next visit! Thanks so much! We look forward to welcoming you back to Bureau de Poste!

Cute vibe, bad food. The seafood was really bad quality. If you’re looking for legit French food…. Keep looking.

The restaurant was located in a grocery store and was very unique. The issues were that there was a coffee bar, a deli/bakery counter, and a sitting area. It turns out that you can order from the menu in the sitting area (including coffee from the coffee bar) but you can't order items you see in the bakery case. My wife asked for a ham and cheese croissant, but they didn't want to heat it up or serve it to us because that was for "to go" only. Same with other items such as the butter croissant which was on the coffee bar (literally where you can sit) but wasn't allowed to be consumed on premise! Very silly. We will not be back.

The service was attentive but the food was just serviceable. For the pricepoint it would be nice if the menu had a little more umph and maybe the servers had collars or something. It just seems like it is a sandwich joint trying to be an upscale restaurant.

B overall. It's primarily a neighborhood restaurant and certainly nothing wrong with that. Brunch menu its not as deep as dinner menu. Has a huge nice patio. Nothing real special overall.

Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our experience for dinner. The food was overpriced for the quality and the service was fair at best. The worst part was when my friend's burger wasn't cooked to her preference, she sent it back and received the same burger + plate with cold fries back. I would expect a new burger sent out with fresh fries given the poor cook of the first burger. Especially given how expensive everything is. I ordered the vegan burger and it was dry and not very substantial. I've been a few times and it seems the quality overall is slipping - I want this restaurant to succeed and hope they can return to their former levels of quality.

The food was under seasoned and the portions were small. Overall, the food was fair, but the prices were way off base and too expensive for what it was. Service was outstanding and the desserts were amazing.

Loved the Croque Madam - Ham was really delicious. The salad Lyonnaise arrived without dressing. It was not what I expected and did not have a lot of flavour. The Clafoutis was more dense that most clafoutis, but tasty. I'll be back, but will ask more questions about the menu items.

This quickly became one of our favorite restaurants in Austin! This is my fifth visit and it’s always an amazing meal!

Style over substance is my verdict after 1 meal. An undercooked omelette (not just soft but runny), the equivalent of half a small spear of asparagus, a few leaves of greens, 1 cherry tomato, 2 slices of radish = $15+. I didn't taste the herbs or Comté in the omelette.
