We went there for brunch and it was one of our favorite meal experiences while we were in Miami. We were staying on Ocean drive and loved how we could walk to so many places. We sat on the patio and had great people watching, along with great food and drinks.

My second visit to CA did not disappoint! We sat inside due to the heat & humidity. Service and food was excellent. Definitely recommend the burrito for breakfast.

Great view of the folks walking around while eating. Plenty of fans to keep you cool. The waitress could have been a bit more attentive, but I would go again. I recommend the steak and eggs!

On a rainy Sunday morning we had planned to try the Tres Leches french toast at Cafe Americano, we arrived early and we were seated right away. I am unsure if the early arrival threw them off or there was some miscommunications but we sat for 12 minutes without a single good morning, hello, or water..... Finally I stopped a person walking by and they went to the front and our server Rosemary came over and greeted us. We ordered coffee, expresso and water. We had decided to split the French Toast ahead of arrival, now it was just the main course to decide on. Diana chose the Lox and Bagels and I went with the Birria Benedict. Both choices were spot on The Lox & Bagel Chive Cream Cheese, Smoked Salmon, Pickled Onions, Soft Boiled Egg, Sliced Tomatoes, Sliced Cucumbers, Capers & Toasted Bagel were a hit! The Birria Benedict Slow Cooked Brisket Birria, Melted Mexican Cheese served on an Artisanal English Muffin, Topped with Soft Poached Eggs, Chipotle Hollandaise Sauce. Served with Breakfast Potatoes was awesome! After a rocky start Rosemary saved it by being very attentive and helpful, again it is the people that make dining fun and exciting.

Service - excellent. Gave each lady at our table a rose on Mother's Day. Brunch menu was good but not overly extensive. Outdoor patio seating only, on what was a very hot/humid day, but being directly across from and overlooking South Beach along with extensive umbrella coverage and cooling fans made up for it. Food was good, but not what I'd call incredible or outstanding/memorable for the price we paid. We've run into that now at a few of the "higher-end" restaurants along Ocean Drive where we've paid a lot of money for what was what we'd consider to be just average/every-day quality dining, with the exception of a few places like Havana 1957 which was truly outstanding and worth every cent. I'd still recommend Cafe Americano overall, and you'll probably have a very similar experience for breakfast/lunch at any of the other plentiful sidewalk establishments that line/span the entire length of Ocean Drive along South Beach, too. Plenty of choices and they are always standing out by their host stands talking you up trying to lure you into their establishment as you walk by. But that's the fun of it, too.
