The best restaurant in the state. Great service, outstanding food all at a reasonable price.
The best experience of fine dining with a culinary explosion! I highly recommend
You just can't beat this menu and service. Always enjoyable.
We are coming back Sept. 17!!!
The risotto was the best I’ve ever had - ever!
Our server was fabulous - enjoyed her.
Beautiful interiors compliment outstanding cuisine.
Great dinner. The Heirloom tomato salad was extraordinary. We had dinner with friends and the whole meal was fantastic for everyone. Very nice service, as well.
This is far and away our favorite restaurant. We’ve been going here for years. Now that we live full time in Arizona our visits are limited to our once-a-year trip to the NorthWest. Terrific food, superb presentation and great service. Holly is s jewel; her staff are exceptional.
Amazing service, the most tasty food, and overall great experience.
Service was poor. Waited a long time to have our dishes cleared and table was left messy before presenting dessert menus.
Food was mediocre. Best dishes just use expensive ingredients like King Salmon and Caviar.
There is no cocktail menu.
Prices were high for what was presented.
Cafe Juanita never disappoints. Exquisite food, exquisite service. A place for special celebrations. Well worth the trip to the east side.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had
Wonderful service and delicious food! Enjoyed the extensive wine list and the ambience of the restaurant.
Fabulous food, incredible service a wonderful dinner. Would highly recommend.
We love Cafe Juanita and have been coming here for years for anniversaries and birthdays. This year we were celebrating our 39th anniversary. The staff could not have been more attentive and aware of our event....the food was outstanding as usual. It’s nice to see a restaurant be in business this long and have consistent and outstanding food and service. We love the ambience ....it’s so tastefully appointed and acoustics are excellent....so that you can carry on a conversation but also hear the soft jazz music in the background. All the staff was friendly and attentive.....from the valet to the multiple employees who waited our table. Just a wonderful experience.....and yes....we will be back!
If there were twelve stars available, Cafe Juanita would earn them all. We had the tasting menu, which was, as always, wonderfully balanced and timed so that we never felt neglected or rushed. The servers are as outstanding and memorable as the chefs. This time, there was an early course with anchovy and green olives that we had not encountered before, and its taste was exciting. For us, being retired, this is very much a special occasion place, but we are never less than delighted.
Menu is not for everyone, No parking other than valet $8. Prices are outrageous, ambience did not feel warm and friendly. Location is terrible looks at the back of apartment building balconies. No landscaping in back view of burnt grass and weeds. All this for over $400. for two
Will never go again.
The best dining in Seattle isn't in Seattle, it's at this unexpected gem in Kirkland. Everything from the friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff, the cozy and elegant feel of the house the restaurant occupies, the wondrous burst of flavor of every bite of every course, and the excellent desserts make this restaurant and essential Seattle area dining experience!
Café Juanita has been our go-to place for a celebratory meal in the past several years. This time did not disappoint. Our waiter suggested that we enjoy a small bit of parmesan with our prosecco--such a nice touch. One of the things this restaurant does so well is its bread basket--filled with housemade crackers and at least 3 kinds of bread. The nectarine/tomato/avocado salad was an outstanding, if unusual, combination. My husband loved his grilled hearts of romaine with an anchovy dressing. Because I hadn't had it in several years, I had the signature rabbit dish--the gravy is absolutely decadent. My husband had wanted rack of lamb for quite a while and Café Juanita's did not disappoint. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, it was seasoned with just the right amount of garlic and came with grilled endive in an anchovy dressing (we love anchovies!). If you like chocolate, you must try the chocolate truffle pave, which is covered in a toasted brown meringue. I had the passionfruit bombolino, which was like a large doughnut filled with passionfruit cream and served with a mix of toasted coconut and chocolate chunks. Very nice. The restaurant's weak point, in our view, is the coffee. It comes from Central or South America; we prefer the rounder and less acidic coffees from Southeast Asia. Regardless, service is knowledgeable and very professional. We'll be back again!
Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!
Our annual anniversary dinner at Café Juanita was fabulous, as always. Thank you for being a part of our celebration.
The food was to die for, and our server was phenomenally polite and knowledgeable about the menu.
Vegetarian and Vegan printed menu available. Nice outdoor seating. Food is delicious and service exceptional.
Service was fantastic. The dining room was very pretty but very loud, to the point of having a hard time hearing my partner.
I had the salmon, he had the lamb. The lamb had good flavor but for the price, very small portion and zero sides. My salmon was meh. The risotto was excellent.
Lots of pomp and high expectations that left us quite underwhelmed given the overall cost of the meal.
Although we live in Colorado, we have eaten at Cafe Juanita many times over the last 10 years. It is one of the best restaurants we have eaten at anywhere in the world, including New York, London, Paris and Rome. The food is creative and perfectly prepared and the service is impeccable. Always a pleasure and worth the effort to get there!
Absolutely amazing! A culinary masterpiece. Food service and ambiance all fabulous. Highly recommended
Our dinner was the most delicious meal! We had lamb chops to die for. The person at the neighboring table had them as well, and when he took the first bite his head went back, his eyes closed and he started chewing very slowly. Then I heard him say “that is delicious!” Everything was done to perfection. The service was wonderful without being crowding or pushy. The music was great, the atmosphere relaxing. I recommend Cafe Juanita to anyone who needs a bit of heaven. My guest is gluten free, and they have delicious breads to offer, and were very sensitive to her needs.
Wonderful evening. Delicious food.Special place.
Going to Cafe Juanita is always a special occasion. And going to Cafe Juanita for a special occasion makes the occasion all the more special! It's our #1 go-to for a birthday or anniversary - or just for a romantic evening. One of these days I'll be really brave and finish my order of tajarin and caviar by picking up the plate and licking it, that's how delicious it is!
Wonderful meal and experience. We had not visited before, but had heard good things. We would put this dining experience at the top of restaurants we have loved throughout the US and world.
Cafe Juanita never disappoints! Low-key friendly atmosphere with incredible food you could expect at the best Michelin rated restaurants. On that note, where is this award for Chef Holly?? The best of the best!
Had the amazing tasting menu and would not change anything. Even asked for seconds on the bread as it was phenomenal too.
Food was amazing! Every item (antipasti, salad, pasta) had incredible tastes and presentation. Service was outstanding. Excellent wine selection.
I loved the new contemporary space, and we had a delightful birthday dinner. Every course was delicious and our server was attentive and knowledgeable. He recommended a Nebbiolo as a pairing for our entrees, which was excellent. Regarding the food, we thought the prosciutto could have been presented in a more interesting way, as it was just the sliced on a white plate with nothing else. The heirloom tomato salad was very tasty. The risotto nero had too much risotto for the number of clams it was garnished with. It was also a bigger portion than we were looking for, but our server convinced us to go with the larger size. We should have ordered the smaller size. I loved the rabbit entree, as it was absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the salmon. For dessert, we had chocolate/hazlenut gelato, with Happy Birthday written on the plate and a candle! It was a lovely evening. We will definitely go back another time to try more of their inventive menu.
Cafe Juanita is our go-to place for celebrations. We've never had a bad experience. The atmosphere, service, and food are always a delight.
We had their fabulous hearts of romaine salad and salmon. Both were prepared to perfection, something we've come to expect. My 4-stars for food is because our favorite dessert -- their amazing panne cotta -- was slightly off. The flavor was as good as always but the texture was a bit soft. Rather than melting in your mouth, it was already melted. Not a lot. Just enough that having experienced it done perfectly over many years, I know how much better it can be.
We will definitely be back. And expect the panne cotta will be back to its usual perfection.
This place always has amazing food and knowledgeable staff. The food is amazing for the price, as well as the staff suggestions always tastes amazing and their pairing knowledge is phenomenal.
One of our favorite restaurants in the Seattle area. Great food, ambience, and service. However, being charged $78.00 for 2 servings of pasta seems excessive. Their prices eliminate me from the ability to return. Too bad - great place but very expensive.
We dined on the outdoor patio, which was much quieter and private than the hustle inside. I loved smelling the smoke from the outdoor fireplace. The waiter (Amid) was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We did a combo of a few menu items as some of the portions were very small. Late in the evening it got cool out and we asked the staff to light the nearby patio heaters, which resulted in some confusion and distraction but resulted in getting them successfully lighted.
Consistently an epicurean delight!
I've reviewed Cafe Juanita too many times. :) It's awesome. It was awesome then, it's still awesome now. Love the food, the service is FAR beyond expectation, the place looks fantastic since the remodel. It's pretty much a perfectly divine experience from beginning to end.
