Cafe Juanita features Executive Chef and Owner Holly Smith's award winning Northern Italian cuisine prepared using the freshest Northwest ingredients and complimented by an award-winning wine list. We are 90% organic in raw ingredients and strive to use sustainable products throughout our menu.

Cafe Juanita is pleased to re-open offering only multi-course tasting menus. We are happy to modify dishes for dietary restrictions; please advise when making reservations.     Multiple dates available
    Cafe Juanita is pleased to offer multi-course tasting menus only. The tasting menus have four iterations from which you can choose: omnivore, pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan. We are happy to modify dishes for dietary restrictions; please advise when making reservations. We strive to use organic and sustainable products throughout our menu. We require proof of COVID-19 vaccination to dine-in with us. As a result, unvaccinated guests and children under the age of 5 are not be permitted to dine-in with us at this time. When you join us for dinner, please present your proof of vaccination and your government-issued ID to our host. A photo of your vaccine card will suffice, as will documentation through the CLEAR app or myIR.

    For the price, thre could have been more substance to the tasting menu and the tables spread out a bit more. The dishes ranged from good to very good, but nothing was a "wow".

    Cafe Juanita is a gustatory experience- from the service to each bite of food. There is a tasting menu for all foodies- vegetarians, pescatarians, vegans, and omnivores. It is expensive so we waited for a very special occasion.

    This was one of the most memorable dining experiences I have ever had. Every employee was spot on with service is a manner that is friendly and knowledgeable. They create the experience along with the food. Simply amazing. Beautiful restaurant and ambience too. Our lead server was Oscar and he was a joy. I let him choose my glass of white wine and it was perfection. What a treat.

    Outstanding food. I wouldn’t choose the wine pairing next time as it seemed like they were going for unique rather than for great pairings. But the food was top notch.

    Our experience here was amazing- the service, ambiance, and our meal - we are so happy we came to Cafe Juanita to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. The tasting menus offer guests many options to choose from and the wine list is extensive with so many wonderful options. I love that they offer other options to substitute a specific course within a tasting menu. The sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable. Our server Oscar and service staff, John, were exceptional.

    All the food was good but quite pricey for what it was, we didn’t like our cocktails but we liked most dishes but they did feel overly rich and lacking in acid. The petit fours were not to my liking at the end they tasted like dots gummy candies.

    I think that’s the best fine dining restaurant you can find on the eastside. And I even prefer it to Canlis. Very tasty food cook to perfection. I asked for the lamb to be cooked rare + and it was perfect. I took the omnivore menu with seared fois gras supplement. Could deserve a Michelin star.

    My wife and I went to Cafe Juanita for the fir at time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was recommended to us by many of our friends, so we had high expectations. We both had the tasting menu (omnivore and pescatarian). Overall, the experience was good, but not worth the price tag. At $250/person without wine, we expect Michelin star restaurant caliber food. Food was good and service was good, but not spectacular. I would rate it far lower than other Michelin 1 star restaurants that we have been to.

    The service was great. Our server was very attentive and stopped by to see how we were doing every course. I went with the vegetarian tasting menu and I was very underwhelmed. All the dishes were too rich for my taste and most of them had an overpowering rich white creamy sauce that I think took away from the other ingredients. I have been here a few times before COVID and have never been this disappointed. I don’t see myself rushing back here as long as they continue to only offer tasting menus.

    Wow! They hit it out if the ballpark. Food and service were excellent. We chose the omnivore menu with lamb chops but our friend enjoyed the vegetable option quite well. Loved all if the flavors and all of the courses were inventive and well prepared. My only comments are that the broth for the soup was too salty. Our dinner companion received a double lamb chop; I only received one.

    With the exception of the halibut, which was good, all other items in the set menu were underwhelming, as were all courses of my wife’s vegetarian menu. Our first experience in Aug ‘21 was very good. So, we were very disappointed this time around.

    Start to finish…perfection. One of my favorite restaurants to celebrate anything from a birthday or anniversary; even just a Tuesday if it feels right. Excellent on all levels and we look forward to our return!

    Dining at Cafe Juanita on April 30, 2022, was perfect in every respect: the tasting menus were inventive and delicious, the presentation of all of the food was artistic and balanced, as well as refelcting a commitment to sustainablity and local organics, the inviting ambiance was impeccable, the wine selection superb and the wait staff attentive, yet, unobtrusive. Cafe Juanita, with chef-owner, Holly Smith, at the helm for decades, has continued to be a paragon for the finest Northern Italian cuisine.

    Cafe Juanita easily accommodated my food allergies by making substitutions from other parts of the menu. They then changed my wine pairing to suit my dish rather than simply sticking with the usual wine pairing for that course.

    Service and ambience was very high end. They added little touches here and there to make the experience elevated. However the food was definitely lacking. My husband and I tried 1 omnivore menu and 1 vegetarian. With those two menus and 4 drinks (2 cocktails, 1 wine, and 1 N/A) our total was over $500. The food was okay but lacking cohesiveness in flavor and execution. Presentation was nice but we were overall not impressed considering the price point.
