Fue una decepción el servicio, trajeron los platos a destiempo con mas de 15 minutos, sin protocolo para servir vino, en general muy mala experiencia y estaba con clientes, pensamos que era el lugar ideal pero no.

Everything we ate was so delicious. Of course I don’t remember the names of the dishes but suffice to say, it was a wonderful dining experience and it’s located in a beautiful part of town and is part of a gorgeous hotel.

Best ceviche in my life!! We asked AI what to order and the dishes did not disappoint. After dinner we walked along the boardwalk to see the animals, an overall great experience.

A beautiful Ecuadorean meal. Casa Julian is situated on the banks of a tear drop shaped peninsula clinging precariously to the mainland. The restaurant is in a lovingly restored colonial style house complete with wrap around veranda and ceiling fans languidly wafting the embracing tropical air. I was guided in my choice of classic coastal Ecuadorean cuisine by my very knowledgeable waitress D____. I started with a bed of tuna carpaccio with a slim coal black crust, topped with a sweet tian of crab. The rich smoky flavour played perfectly with the soft sweet flavours of the crab. I paired the dish with a bright Ecuadorean Chardonnay from vineyards only an hour away to the south west of the country. Accompanying the starter was the house bread, a black sourdough with a cottage cheese dip and delightful balsamic banana relish. The soft mouthfeel of the slices was closer to a rye bread than other sourdoughs I’ve tried. The catch of the day was a milky white sea bass that easily separated with a gentle nudge of my fork into delicate translucent flakes. Exotic tropical ingredients of coconut cream and achiote had been combined into a buff coloured silky emulsion with a familiar carotonoid flavour. The meal was rounded out with a charmingly coloured dairy free mound of firm but light espumilla. The exterior of the mound had a vague soapy taste, which was transformed when mixed with the nutty interior. A fresh attractive Ecuadorean meal, more than worthy of a second visit.
