The food was mediocre at best. We found plastic in our calamari, apparently from a "vegetable bag" as described by our server. The lobster was so overcooked it took a steak-knife and a lot of sawing to get through it. The vegetables were so undercooked, you could not even bite through most of them. The salad had brown/old pieces of lettuce and the croutons were the consistency of a sponge. Do not go here for the food! The view was spectacular of course.

We came for special occasion to celebrate. It was completely ruined as our special guest food was messed up. We all ordered veg burgers. 3 were served fine the 4th one came without the top bun. Server told us that top bun fell off when he was bring it from kitchen. First of all he should e have served that plate on the table. On top of that we waited for 30 min with multiple intervention to get the top bun. Finally after 30 min we were told that manager is going to get the bun. Which again took 10-15 min. By then everyone else had finished their food and our guest just ate Fries and returned the food since it was cold as he was waiting for 30-40 min. We felt so embarrassed that we did not even wait for dessert or cake that we were planning to get and celebrate our anniversary and birthday. It was most messed up experience ever for plus when going out and eating. Unfortunately, it was at the best possible venue of San Antonio. I don’t think we plan to come back anytime soon. Besides these while server was apologetic, manager was showing attitude to us. After bringing the bun 40 min later when were denied the whole meal, he rudely asked us…”so you don’t want to bun???” Making us feel as if we are bothering him. Overall, our most awaited celebration dinner was wasted with everyone walking out unhappy from the place.

Very hot. Took too long to be seated so we missed the sunsetting even tho our reservation should’ve meant it’d be perfect timing. Got our bread after our food and our dessert took 30 minutes after finishing our food even tho we ordered it at the begging with our meal.

Whole building needs to be upgraded. There was a smell of dirtiness that I could not avoid. Spilled food on the floor that was not probably cleaned up. Carpet was very dirty and smelled like feet.

I had high hopes and was very excited. The views were amazing, and my table really enjoyed that. The rest however, wasn't as good. The food was highly priced for what it was. All the meats were overcooked, the scallops tasting like rubber, and very underwhelming. It was very much a tourist trap, they were aware that they did not need to be great for business to stay good. Took a long time to get the food or any assistance. Would love to give a better review and hate to come off as a Karen. They have an observation deck however which I'm sure is better of an experience. Servers also seemed very unhappy

Terrible experience. We had a reservation for 11:30 am, we were seated immediately but could not leave until 1:45 pm due to our plates taking over an hour to get to us. My daughter was served a salad without dressing. It took the waiter about 20 minutes to come back to the table, so she picked at her salad until we could ask for dressing. My daughter and I both ordered medium rare prime ribs, both of which were over-cooked. My daughter kept hers, my husband sent mine back. Second attempt was raw -- not rare. Raw. So my husband sent it back a third time -- the cook was finally medium rare, but my steak was burned to a crisp on the outside and heavily over salted. It was a $300 lunch that was easily only worth $75 (and that's being generous)

A bit disappointing this time, past couple of visits have been great. First we waited an hour to catch elevator to restaurant since only one seemed to be functional. Second the food was good but only slightly warm when we got it, the Service was great waiter, David, was spot on and attentive. We’ll be back and hoping it’s a better experience.

I'll probably NEVER go back.... I had 6:15 reservations and walked into the base of the tower at 6:00. We were told to go to the restaurants reception desk and check in. We stood in line for 10 minutes. Once we checked in, we were told to get in line to take the elevator up to the restaurant. The line was huge. There were two lines, one to go to the restaurant and one to the observation deck. One elevator was tasked with both lines. Bottom line, we stood on line for close to 50 minutes. Not only was I uncomfortable being dressed nicely, but for my date dressed in heels and a dress, she was miserable. By the time we got into the restaurant we were 45 minutes late. The food was average, but NOT worth the 60 minutes standing in line. And the crazy thing is we had reservations and even arrived 15 minutes early. My advise, go to a nice place that has reservations and be seated promptly. Forget standing in line an hour.

As a San Antonio local, I was looking forward to dining at the tower for nostalgia. We arrived at the restaurant with another couple in the elevator and were greeted by the front staff to be escorted to our table. We received the menus and proceeded to wait 15 minutes before we flagged down another waiter to tell him that we haven’t been assisted yet. He said he would inform the staff right away. We waited another 15 minutes, yet without being greeted by our waiter/waitress, no water, and no table bread. We decided to walk out because of the sub-par service and ask the front staff for the manager. We told him about the situation and he was not interested or offered any solutions to keep us from leaving. As we were walking out, we noticed the couple that came up the elevator with us were attended to, with table bread, and enjoying soup. Honestly, we were so happy making the decision to leave and not spending $100+ on a restaurant that did not have proper management. We decided to dine at Battalion a couple minutes away and were blown away by the friendliness of the staff, yummy cocktails, and delicious food - highly recommend!

One elevator has been broken for two weeks, so the line and wait time to get up and down was extremely long on a Saturday evening. Once we were seated our server was attentive but the service was very slow. We both had the 9oz filet mignon which was cooked correctly but didn’t have much flavor. It’s wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t worth $45. The asparagus was cooked just right and delicious. We had an order of sautéed mushrooms with the filet and they were perfectly cooked and added a lot to the otherwise fairly bland filet mignon. I ordered a Cesar salad and when it was brought out the romaine lettuce was very wilted. It looked and tasted thrown together. Not at all worth the money. For drinks I ordered a gin martini which was good, and my wife ordered the People’s gin & tonic, which she said was very good. The Key Lime Pie is made there but came out almost runny, as if it had sat out for a long time. It tasted ok, but the portion was very small and I wouldn’t order it again. My wife had apple crisp with ice cream (which she had asked them to leave off) and said it was okay but some of the apples tasted undercooked. Our server kept apologizing for how long everything was taking and her hard work made a difference in our enjoying the evening despite being slightly disappointed in the quality of the main course. We have been to the Chart House many times over the last 10 years but hadn’t been back since the COVID restrictions were lifted in San Antonio, so it had been a couple of years. We love the location and ambiance but with the significant increase prices and very noticeable drop in quality we will probably not be going back soon. There are too many outstanding restaurants in the neighborhood to spend over $200 on a meal for two and have it be disappointing. Not a bad night, but not worth $200+.

Our server, Brianna, was phenomenal. She was professional, but courteous, patient, and attentive. The views were amazing, of course, and the settings nice. It would be nice if the ownership decided to keep up with the quality of the environment by repairing and refinishing cabinets, patching the ceiling, and replacing burned out lighting.
