About this restaurant

  • Good for business meals
  • Good for groups
  • Neighborhood gem
Come enjoy a delicious meal right off the wood fire grill! We are located right in the heart of the historic Fayetteville square, and welcome you to join us for an incredible meal in an inviting, lively atmosphere. Our kitchen uses only select mesquite wood to insure every item has just the right amount of smoky flavor. For a grilled lunch or dinner, we offer classic steaks from ribeye to filet mignon as well as a few outside of the box items like lamb chop lollipops and jalapeño-stuffed quail breast. We also have sandwiches, salads, soups, and house-made desserts.

About the Building

Built in 1911, this historic building began its important role in the Fayetteville community as the city Post Office. In 1974 it was saved from demolition by a citizen-led petition, and gained National Historic status. We are honored to continue the tradition of bringing people together and celebrating the citys history in the beautiful Old Post Office.

Food and atmosphere was amazing. Service was great. Crab cakes were the best I’ve had. Steak salad was perfect. Steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Maple vinaigrette was especially off the chart.

Staff was super attentive and overall excellent. Food arrived quickly. Was a little bit too salty and greasy overall but still good. Drink was a little watered down. I will go back for sure.

Fun environment! The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The Old Fashion I ordered was perfect. The menu options were great! I ordered a bacon-wrapped filet mignon prepared Pittsburgh after being told they knew exactly how to prepare the steak. My Pittsburgh steak came out medium to medium-well. I was disappointed. I'm not the kind of guy to return food, because it's not ruined, just not how I prefer it. So, I stayed the course and ate it and it was a good medium-to-medium well cut of steak. Would still come back and perhaps be a bit more specific in my request for a cow still alive but near death.

Likely, guests repeatedly recommend making reservations because evenings, brunch and special dates fill up. While the restaurant handles walk-ins, busy nights (holidays, game days, Valentine’s) can lead to waits; staff have managed reservation mix-ups quickly, but for peak times it’s smart to reserve or call ahead to check waitlist options.

Busiest: weekend evenings, brunch service, holidays (Valentine’s), and game or event nights on the square. Guests often mention packed houses at special dates and brunch being hectic. Quietest: weekdays outside of peak dinner times, early dinners or weekday lunches tend to be more relaxed and easier to get a table without a long wait.

For a lively experience, go on a weekend evening or weekend brunch when the atmosphere is buzzing. For a quieter meal and easier reservations, choose a weekday (Monday–Thursday) early dinner or lunch. Guests frequently recommend booking ahead for weekends, holidays and game nights to secure your preferred table.
