This was one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to! A must stop when in OC.
Food, service and ambience were amazing!!! Adults and the kiddos loved their meals:-) My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass which we both agreed was the best we’ve had and I enjoyed the shorts ribs with pasta which was so yummy!!!
Always great food. Sometimes not the friendliest of greetings, but the staff is efficient.
A nice relaxing time with friendly service, great food and drinks !
Exceptional service and the food was top notch!!! Delicious but the service was over the top amazing!
One of my favorite places to dine even after all these years. The food, service and ambiance is amazing.
Cold food. They were having an off night I guess because dinner is usually outstanding.
Minestrone was superior. Papardelle was amazing! Definitely will go back!
Super nice decor. Food was so good! Service was great!! We will be coming back.
Food was good but service was lacking and rushed. The branzino burrata, and short ribs were delicious! The server on the other hand was without a mask, hovering over our food, unavailable at times, and had zero tact. Glasses of water were basically thrown at us, while the server grabbed the lip of the glasses with his bare hands.
At least pretend there is a pandemic, and that you care about your job.
I would still recommend this place because the food was very good, and somewhat reasonably priced. But with caveats.
A consistently well run restaurant
Food and service is always great
It’s our go to restaurant for 20+ years
Made a reservation to sit indoors at a table on the side of the room. When we arrived the owner tried to sit us outside in a rainy day. We told him the reservation was for indoors. He said fine and then tries to sit us at the worst table in the middle of the room. We asked to sit on the side at one of the tables four 4, but he said those were for four people yet there were 5 other tables along the wall that were all 4 person tables yet each had two people at them. We left without eating as the owner and staff were simply rude.
Had a wonderful meal. The lobster ravioli is my favorite, so delicious. Great service also.
The food and the service were Exceptional once again. Tried the short ribs on this occasion and they were very good
Fish dinner menu items were excellent, sea bass and halibut
First time and probably won’t return. Very disappointing.
The service was actually very good and the waiter was attentive. But he couldn’t make up for yucky food.
The pizzas were very very soggy, not a crisp crust. Lasagne came out in an oven proof dish and we were warned it was very hot. Indeed, it was, however the entire center of the lasagna was cold and not cooked. Yikes - amateur mistake for a kitchen.
Also, we have a soy allergy in the family and we were shocked that instead of using olive oil, they use soybean oil in almost everything!!! Why would an authentic Italian restaurant substitute olive oil with an inexpensive, GMO, allergy unfriendly, soy??? I mean fast food restaurants like McDonald’s use soybean… not nicer restaurants.
One person in our party was not able to eat anything with a red sauce which is pretty much 90% of the menu because they use soy oil in all sauces, salad dressing’s, fryer, etc.
The restaurant is cute but it is very noisy. We don’t mind the energy but it’s not a place I would recommend for a date night or quiet conversation. Great for family dining. But the food was just borderline atrocious.
Not crowded for Sunday lunch. Very quick and attentive service. Beet salad with salmon was excellent. Gluten free options.
We had reservations for 7:30 PM and arrived early but they were friendly, accommodating and sat us right away! For appetizers we had calamari fritti and beef carpaccio, both were exceptional! The beef melted in the mouth and the calamari was tender and cooked to perfection with a light crispy outer crust, one of the best we've ever had! I had the gnocchi, my husband had the bolognese with Parpadelle, my sister in law had the Parpadelle with Cremini mushroom and black truffle sauce, and my brother had the Frutti di Mare; the seafood was bountiful. All the entrees were cooked to perfection and delicious. We had wine and beer to quench our thirst and ended dinner with an apple tart to share. Everything was superb; the service was attentive and both the Maître d' and the owner came to our table to ask how everything was and they were personable and since both are from Italy, they're very passionate about food! All in all it was a perfect holiday meal, and they made it a wonderful experience for us! We'll be regulars, no doubt!
It was fantastic, as always!
They treated us like royalty!
An amazing local restaurant with great food and service. You feels like you are eating in a local restaurant in the Italian country side. Ask for the owners special wine list from his home town in Italy.
By far the best Italian restaurant in Southern California. Every dish was fantastic
Absolutely Awesome Food!!!
Love Ciao Pasta❤️
Great night, the food is delicious as always. It was very busy and we noticed that the door dash/Uber eats orders were steadily coming in and getting their food timely and we waited over 30 mins for our entrees. It’s was fine and we just enjoyed each other’s company but it was kind of annoying to wait that long while watching the steady stream of Uber eats getting food out of the kitchen timely.
Always great food, delicious salads and best branding.
Read about it on Open Table. Exceeded our expectations. I am having lunch there this week. We highly recommend.
A delightful dining experience with the always outstanding food choices a clear winner. The lemon pasta and the cheese ravioli were both noteworthy and prepared to perfection. Dining outside was a definite highlight.
Ciao Pasta is the best place to have a quiet lunch in San Juan Capistrano. Food is excellent, service is friendly, and if you go early, parking is easy.
Awesome authentic Italian fare. Large portions, great service and a lovely patio made for wonderful meal. Don't forget to save room for dessert.
You can always count on Ciao Pasta to provide a tasty meal! This is our local go to place. The service is just as good as the food!
Great location, wonder ambiance, service and food. Definitely a go to for us!!!!

Wonderful Italian food. Beautiful Patio. very friendly staff.
