   We ordered the chicken, and it was absolutely incredible. Fantastic flavors. The duck was lovely with the fruity compote. The burger was one of the best we have ever had. You have to order the brussel spouts–perfectly sweet with the carmelized onion jam and crispy edges. We loved it so much for dinner that we came back for brunch the next day! Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich. We loved learning about where the local meats came from and knowing we were supporting local.

   All meat dishes are excellent. Always have had a pleasant experience. Waiters are friendly. A bit noisy. Try the ice cream. It is my go-to eatery in Grandview. Expect to spend $25 per person, but well worth it...you will be happy you did.

   This was our second time dining at Cleaver with a much larger party this time! Everything was excellent the food is always top notch and the staff is attentive and helpful! We loved our experience at Cleaver and would definitely dine there again!

   Menu is limited and decidedly meat-oriented, but they do a great job with the dishes that are offered. Likewise, the beer and wine lists are pretty small, but the selections are high quality, well thought out and reasonably priced. Service is friendly and welcoming, with occasional visits from the owner. Nice neighborhood feel to the place. Overall, a unique and pleasant place for a meal. We will definitely go back.

   We split the beef and cheddar sandwich and steak salad. The beef and cheddar sandwich was amazing! Just the right amount of cheese and succulent beef and the hand cut fries were tasty. I was so full I was unable to eat the salad. Steak on the salad was done medium rare and juicy.

    Every dish we had was great - casual atmosphere and friendly service with upscale food. Smoked pasta, duck, brussels, house made "bread and fat" -yum. Great bourbon list as well. Looking forward to our next meal at Cleaver.

    this is definitely a good restaurant. a little meat heavy for my taste, but the quality was exceptional. I had the burger, but I think i'll go steak salad the next time. the service was beyond outstanding. even if the food was not as good, I would have given it another try based on the service!

    Nice staff, but very limited menu. While some people may appreciate local and homemade, it is nice to still have a name-brand soda or condiment. The food was mostly fine, but expensive ... especially when having to select from such a limited menu. Some may love it, but it wasn't our cup of tea.

    Tho Scotch egg was cooked well but lacked flavor, the pork meatballs didn’t have any flavor except for the delicious grilled, spicy pineapple sauce that was served on the side. The meatball should have stood alone in flavor but there wasn’t any seasoning in them. The steak salad was drenched in dressing and we found the steak that we ordered medium rare to be a bit over cooked and tough. We were disappointed and won’t be returning.

    I enjoyed this place and will not hesitate going back! The burger is your must get, that bacon 🤤, I had the focaccia and whipped feta that was very delicious as well, espresso ice cream using espresso from the coffee shop next door was remarkable! Thank you for the great service and amazing food!

    Two people in our party had to return their meat due to it being undercooked after ordering it medium rare (steak, which arrived raw, cold and dark blood red) and medium (hamburger, red on the interior). They did take both items off the bill and prepared a new burger.

    We ordered lots of little plates. Our server was unsure of food descriptions and ingredients but was very kind. All steaks are souvied (yes I am sure I spelled that wrong) so if you like a steak with a good sear then go elsewhere. Food was lovingly prepared. Whipped Feta was amazing. The menu rotates so don’t go by what is shown online. We had grits with bacon (undercooked grits but bacon was unbelievable) and steak medium rare but it was definitely RARE. Friend took it home to re-grill but not after saying “this is the best piece of me I’ve had in my life) good drinks too prices in line with everywhere else pretty much. The place was packed by the time we left. Definitely worth a try and so glad Grandview has a new place worthy of the old bag of nails which was a community center as much as a restaurant. I’ll be back even if I need to cook my food a little longer over the candle.

    Wow! My hubby and I were thoroughly impressed with the food, drinks, and people. We arrived much earlier than our reservations and we were welcomed at the bar by Eric. Eric was super helpful in navigating our first visit to Cleaver. The Smoked Old Fashioned was smooth and very delicious. Eric then suggested several items from the dinner menu and took the time to describe and tell us more about how the menu revolves around local sourcing. We enjoyed the duck and the pork dish of the evening along with the amazing grits, bread and fats, scotch egg, and fries. A lot went home with us, but we had to try these offerings! Our kids really enjoyed the take always:-). All in all, a great meal, great drinks and great company!

    We went for brunch and everything was amazing! So incredibly tasty, every bite packed with flavor. The handmade ice cream capped off an incredible meal and we are looking forward to returning soon! Our server Anna was exceptional and the icing on the cake!

    Understaffed so we were semi-ignored for a while, even though we were one of only three inhabited tables in the main dining space. Food was so-so, nothing to write home about. But the worst part was the music — top 40 bangers at a crazy high level. Didn’t fit the place’s vibe at all. I’d give it a MEH.

    it was our first trip on a Saturday night to Cleaver. We were seated promptly for our reservation time. We sat in the bar area. It was busy, but service was good and food arrived promptly. The food was very good.
