We celebrated my nephew’s 15th birthday here and the team at Coco Noir Bella Vista were outstanding in their service, from throwing in some entrees on the house to a beautiful happy birthday song rendition with candles and a platter of sweet treats as a surprise at the end, it really made for a special evening. The food was tasty, especially the beef brisket ragu and the pork ribs. My only thought was the portions could have been larger for the price. Thank you team, you made it a very memorable evening!

My experience at Coco Noir was non-existent as they cancelled my booking on the morning that I had booked a special lunch with my husband and my brother. The restaurant advertised a special Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day and on Boxing Day, 26 December. As the Christmas Day Lunch was fully booked, I booked a table for 3 for Boxing Day, which was confirmed. Twice on Christmas Day I was asked to confirm the booking for the next day, once by email and again by text message. I replied in the affirmative both times. Then I received an email on Boxing Day morning stating that they were closing at 10 am and they would not be serving lunch and apologise for any inconvenience! I was extremely upset and phoned Coco Noir only to be told the exact same thing. That was it - our day ruined entirely! This was our Christmas present to my brother, who lives alone, so he ended up with no Christmas lunch. We were all totally appalled at being treated so badly by this restaurant.

Unfortunately there was not enough workers in the kitchen so the meal was very slow. We were told we had to be out by 2.00 but we hadn’t even had our first course by 2.00.

Expected a buffet breakfast when the reservation was made. No indication this will not be the case.

We used your online booking tool to make a reservation for a team Christmas lunch. We received the booking confirmation email the day prior, which was accepted, only to turn up to a closed restaurant with a sign on the door stating you have changed your trading hours. As it is Christmas trade, we were unable to get a booking at another restaurant for lunch, and two of the team had travelled from the central coast to attend. It would have been nice to at least receive an email to apologise, but instead you send a review request 3 days later....so here it is.

Unfortunately it wasn’t the same as advertised in google! Name of the restaurant and the pictures looked amazing and we would say we are going to have a nice experience…. But food and specially Fish were overcooked and dry. No one was around to ask us if we need desert or tea or coffee! There was only one waiter that was gone after he took orders. Our water glasses stayed empty with no top ups.. very poor service. Never going back there again.

FAQs

Busiest: holiday periods and special events, several guests reported busy Christmas/Boxing Day services and unexpected closures that affected bookings. Quietest: weekday mornings (breakfast) and early weeknight dinners, when guests note a relaxed, conversational atmosphere. If you prefer a quieter visit choose non‑peak days or early dinner slots and book ahead for weekends or holidays.

Portions can vary, many mains are substantial (300g Ribeye, generous salads and pasta portions), but some guests felt certain dishes were a bit small for the price. Guests specifically praised the beef brisket ragu and pork ribs for flavour but noted they would have preferred larger servings. If you’re sharing starters or ordering for a big appetite, consider an extra side or a shared tasting platter.

Casual dress is the recommended attire. The venue presents a casual‑elegant dining style, so smart casual outfits are a good fit for both breakfast and dinner visits.

Yes. Staff at Coco Noir have a track record of accommodating special requests, guests report the team organised birthday surprises, complimentary items and honoured table preferences. For celebrations, dietary needs or seating requests call ahead or note your request when booking to ensure the team can prepare.

Not consistently. Guests reported advertised Christmas/Boxing Day lunches but also several sudden closures or changes to holiday trading that led to cancelled bookings. The restaurant’s regular hours don’t list public holiday times, so always call ahead or check holiday notices before planning a public‑holiday visit.

Yes, families do dine here and guests frequently celebrate birthdays with children. The breakfast menu explicitly features a Kid’s Favorites section (pancakes, scrambled eggs, cheese toastie), and staff have accommodated family seating requests. For younger children consider an earlier sitting and mention any menu needs when booking.

Coco Noir is a relatively small venue with a cozy lounge and intimate dining area, ideal for pairs or small family celebrations. The restaurant does not advertise private dining rooms or private-party bookings, though staff have been flexible with table requests for celebrations. For larger groups, call ahead to discuss seating options.

Breakfast is served daily from 6:00 am to 10:30 am. Dinner service runs Monday to Saturday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. For holiday hours or special events it’s best to call ahead or check with the restaurant, as guests have reported variation on public holidays.

Weekdays are a good bet, early weeknights or weekday mornings tend to be calmer and offer the relaxed atmosphere guests praise. Weekends and public holidays can be busier and sometimes experience staffing or schedule changes, so plan ahead if you’re visiting on a weekend or special date.

Warm, relaxed and slightly upscale-casual. Guests describe a calm, pleasant environment where conversation is easy, with friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant balances a stylish dining room and a cozy lounge, making it suitable for intimate dinners, celebrations and weekend breakfasts.

Yes. Coco Noir Bella Vista is well suited to date night, a casual‑elegant spot with a cozy lounge, curated wine list and a dinner menu designed for sharing or a romantic mains-and-dessert evening. Guests describe a relaxing, intimate atmosphere and several mentions of lovely evenings and birthday celebrations. For a quieter, more intimate experience aim for an early weeknight booking; reservations are recommended for weekend dinners (open Mon–Sat 5:00 pm–10:00 pm).

Partly, families and celebratory groups frequently dine here and staff have accommodated table requests for birthdays and team lunches. Guests report the venue is relatively small but able to honour seating preferences when asked. The listing doesn’t specify formal accessibility features, so if you need wheelchair access or other accommodations, call ahead to confirm.

For a relaxed experience, choose weekday evenings or breakfast, guests often note it’s a calm, intimate spot where you can converse easily. Weekends and holiday periods (e.g., Christmas/Boxing Day) can be busy and have seen staffing or service issues in the past, so book ahead for weekends or special dates.
