What Insiders Are Saying
Coda Di Volpe is an Italian restaurant in Lakeview serving wood-fired pizzas.
The food was yummy as usual, but our server was brusque and cheerless. His attitude definitely ruined the mood for us. He seemed annoyed that he had to wait on us. He said he had only been working there about a month and a half, and I assume he won't last much longer. I should mention, I've dined at this restaurant on three previous occasions and have always had good service.
The food was delicious!! I had the vegetable pasta and ate the whole thing!
We found this via Open Table and it will now be one of our go to N. side Chicago restaurants. Delicious food, awesome cocktails and lovely service. It was the perfect night to sit outside and enjoy a great meal in the neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Outstanding service today!
It was my birthday and I had a blast! Everything was wonderful. Our server Christopher was very nice and attentive. I had one of the best salads(arugula)that I’ve ever eaten. We also had the Mortadella e Pistachio pizza and the goat cheese ravioli. Delicious! For dessert the server brought out an ice cream flight(brown butter pecan, chocolate and salted caramel) with a candle in it for my birthday. I will definitely go back and take more friends.
Coda Di Volpe is great and very well-rounded. Awesome food, quiet outdoor scene, lively indoor scene, good bar, kid-friendly.
Attentive service, great ambience, and a fantastic Bloody Mary. I'd never been to the restaurant for brunch, just dinner, but would highly recommend it for this meal, as well. I had the eggs in purgatory, which was like a delicious, Mediterranean version of shashuka. Highly recommend!
Zucchini flowers were fantastic!
First time here. Great ambiance, attentive service, and phenomenal food. So good! We definitely will be coming back.
We brought friends for brunch. We sat outside on the patio. Great service and nice atmosphere.
French toast was outstanding.
My bf and I had a date night here after the theater. The flatbread and salad we had were amazing. Cocktails were also a standout. Unfortunately, the mains were only okay. They weren't bad by any means, just... underwhelming. I had the halibut and he had the special that evening which was the pork chop. Everything on the plates kind of tasted the same and bland, nothing really popped or made me want to keep eating. Skipped dessert, but only because we were too full. I would still recommend, especially if you're swinging in to sit at the bar for a drink and flatbread.
This is my second time at this place and my overall experience was just outstanding both times. The food is excellent and they have great service and hospitality.
I fully recommend it.
I thought the food was average at best. No flavor to me.
Thought it was pricey and I eat out a lot.
I don’t mind paying if it’s good. 3 of us for dinner, 2 had pasta, one had pizza, one person had one glass of wine and one had ice tea.
$150 including tip. Not good
Disappointed as I’ve heard good things about it...
Food was amazing but service was very very slow. It wasn’t crowded so was not expecting ordering, food and paying the check to take that long.
Great menu, food and service! We enjoyed our dinner in the charming outdoor seating area and will definitely be back!
Came here for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved it! Great service, ambiance and food. Definitely will recommend to my friends and family!
As always, the folks at Coda di Volpe were friendly and welcoming, the service was excellent, and the food was terrific. We'll be back.
We had cocktails followed by a pizza and pasta to share. Portions were just right and the price point was perfect. The service from the moment I walked in the door, to the drinks I enjoyed at the bar, to the servers who assisted us at the table, was excellent!
The food was delicious and the outdoor patio is cute and quiet off of southport, which adds to a lovely intimate experience. Great date night spot or with friends. I would certainly come back. The service was nothing to boast about, but some took our order and we got our food, so not complaining either.
One of the best pizzas in Chicago. Appetizers are also very good, and wine list has some reasonably priced quality options. Good, attentive service.
Overall very satisfied with our dinner. Excellent food, service and beverages.
We love this restaurant! Excellent food, drinks, wait staff, ambiance and decor. Thank you for another wonderful meal with you!
It was Delightful
Great place for brunch or dinner. Wonderful wait staff!
Great service and delicious food! They even brought out a special birthday treat without us having to say anything.
Can't wait to go back! Had the pizza and it was delicious!
Great date night spot! The patio is perfect for a nice summer evening!
Ravioli was excellent.. innovative, tasty with lovely presentation but much too skimpy. Serve larger portions!
Wonderful service. Wonderful meal! Wish we lived closer to make this a regular spot!
Stylish decor and great overall restaurant and bar with creative menu entrees in addition to their many pizza and pasta choices. A great time there celebrating a birthday!
Absolutely love everything about this place. Great cocktail program and ambiance, and no review can do the food justice. Love the patio seating, too.
The food here is consistently good and the service is too. It’s a great neighborhood spot.
Very slow service
The dinner and service were adequate.
Food is fabulous but Dustin the server is what keeps us coming back.
The food was great.... except the pasta. An Italian restaurant with mediocre pasta!?!? Presentation: yuck, taste: terrible, portion: stingy. I was so disappointed because the salad and apps were awesome! The vibe is great and location perfect for us. I may give it one more chance.
We had a family birthday celebration dinner. The owner stopped and chatted with us several times - quite a gentleman! Excellent and knowledgeable service and really really good food. We would return there for any occasion.
The space is absolutely beautiful and everything we tried (meatballs, arugula and roasted grape salad, and pistachio pizza) was delicious. The service started out amazing and then became nonexistent by the end of the meal, which was odd. Would definitely recommend overall!
Nice service with knowledgeable waiter. It's always good when the wait staff know the the wine list and can make a few recommendations. I thought the food was a good reflection of southern Italian fare highlighted by terrific neopolitan pizza!
delicious as always! love the authentic italian cuisine!
