What Insiders Are Saying
Coda Di Volpe is an Italian restaurant in Lakeview serving wood-fired pizzas.
Love this place!
Work friend dinner and we both enjoyed our meals! I had scallops and he had the beef.
Good for kids but expensive as well. Every dish could have been lighter; hiding great wood-oven-cooking with creamy decadent sauces. The pizza was great.
Everything about our Coda Di Volpe experience was top-notch. The service was incredible - so knowledgeable and engaging - and the food was outstanding. It's the perfect spot in any season.
Everything was fantastic there! The service was really good and attentive and everyone was really nice and accommodating. The food was delicious. We had the arugula salad and the mushroom pizza and both were really good. They had a spicy olive oil that you could put on the pizza that was outstanding.
Great ambience definitely
The mussels apparently were their signature dish and they were exceptional. I m not necessarily a seafood fan but the white wine and bone sauce with the mussels was delicious.
Pizza ! Well I guess I have been to a bunch of pizzerias and you know what to expect and they are all about the same , but this one had a great presentation, came with a scissors too (made slicing easy and fun )
Crust was thin but not crunchy , easy to cut and chew , the meat, cheese and toppings were savory. Given a choice I d go for these restaurant based pizzas over any delivery service .
This restaurant is consistently great. We take everyone we know there and they always go back. Fantastic food, great wait staff, cool vibe where you can actually have a conversation and terrific cocktails. You feel like you can’t wait to come back.
Great food wine and service
We went to Coda di Volpe for a dinner for my mother's birthday - the basic bucatini pasta was good, as was the starter arugula salad, but my mother's pizza (the pistachio pesto) was a bit underwhelming and the other starter salads were just okay. The server blantantly told my mother he wouldn't add mushrooms to her pizza, even though she requested and she was celebrating her birthday, because he didn't think anything could make her pizza better. It was a good plate of pasta I could get for cheaper somewhere else.
Southport Gem. They had a great selection of wines from different regions of Italy. The arugula salad is wonderful as is the bruschetta appetizer. All the pizzas looked really good. We had the Fungi and it was great. The Pheasant agnolotti was delicious and not too heavy. There is also a nice selection of gelato and sorbets. We enjoyed cookies and cream gelato and the pineapple/toasted coconut sorbet. Bon Appetite
Excellent food. Amazing service. Highly recommended.
It was great I would like some more dessert options
Great Pizza, authentic Neapolitan will definitely go back for more
Really enjoy this restaurant. Ambiance is great and food was delicious, as usual! Our server, Casey was great! Very personable and responsive. Fun night out!
The food was great and the personnel very professional in troubleshooting.
We had dinner on a Friday night with 2 adults, 2 kids (8, 11). Bruschetta and grilled octopus appetizers were fantastic. Authentic pizza and pasta were just the right size. Kids loved cutting their pizzas with a scissors
And our server was passionate and conversational throughout. Great night out!
Great service, good cocktails (even a Mocktail for my pregnant wife), and the food was fantastic.
Thank you Leah and Nancy for great service
The service was outstanding and our waiter was very attentive and suggested options for me since I’m a bit picky while pregnant. We will absolutely be back.
Wonderful experience overall! The food and service were outstanding. They were very kind and accommodating to our group with a few small children. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice variety of Italian food in the Southport Corridor.
Our experience at Coda this trip was good, but not as good as it usually is. The appetizers--fritto misto and the zucchini blossom--were both outstanding. The pasta ragu was good, but the swordfish disappointed, as it was somewhat overcooked and oversauced. The service, as always, was outstanding and the ambiance very energetic. Coda is a great neighborhood restaurant that is worth traveling to. Notwithstanding that our most recent night there was a little less than we are used to, we will continue to keep it on our Chicago rota.
Delish. Mortadella and pistachio pizza was awesome as well as the roasted veggies
Great NYE menu!! Loved everything about our experience. And our server was Excellent!! Top notch
Visited Copa Di Volpe on New Year’s eve. They served a fabulous five course pre fixe menu, which was fairly well priced for the quality of food and given it was a holiday. The staff (who were all dressed in festive formal attire) was attentive, and the meal was beautifully orchestrated. To top off the experience, the atmosphere was perfect — from the holiday decor to the upbeat playlist that served as the perfect backdrop.
This a great neighborhood place. Amazing rustic Italian food. The pizza truly took me back to Italy. Everything from apps to dessert was special and delicious. The service was excellent and the vibe is cozy and hip. We will be back for sure.
The food was top notch. We ordered the cheese board, zucchini blossoms, arugula salad, white truffle risotto, bucatini pomodoro and chocolate ganache mousse. The price for each item compared to the portion was disappointing. The waitress was helpful in choosing wines that adhered to our specific palates and matched well with our meal. I'd pass on the zucchini - the glaze was too sweet and they weren't as filled as other places. The truffle risotto was unique, rich but not over powering and the bucatini was a perfect classic.
Simply perfection, I can’t say enough great things about this place. The people, the pizza, and the cocktails are next level, and the wine list has something for everyone.
Great food and drinks. Service was fast and efficient. Pasta was housemade and delicious!! Definitely going back
The service was exceptional! Our water glasses were never empty and the manager checked in a couple times to make sure our evening was wonderful.
Always love coming here! The food is delightful and the service is top notch.
Great food but not memorable service
The chef is always so accommodating to my dietary restrictions, and Leah is the best server...I have had the pleasure of her service twice. The food is always delicious.
This is one of my favorite restaurants!! Absolutely love the frozen drinks here. Last year I had a spinach pasta that was delicious. I haven’t seen it back on the menu since....Hope it makes an appearance this winter!!
We had a wonderful experience at Coda Di Volpe. It has a trendy vibe but still is very homey and cozy. The food was wonderful - we tried a salad, a pizza, and a pasta - all very tasty. Also left with a tab under $50 for two of us. I defiantly would recommend!
This is one of my favorite spots. You will want a reservation if on the weekend as it is always full of people! The food is amazing, the service is wonderful!!
Awesome food great drinks
Love Coda! Love sitting at the bar having a drink and their food is good for just a bite or a full dinner! Employees are outstanding as well
Fantastic service and cozy ambience. Thanks for a great night!
