The service was excellent; even after a few mishaps that were quickly and graciously corrected. Went on mother's day so was crowded but the atmosphere was great.

Excellent food and wine. Kitchen and bar were VERY slow. Not a problem if you want a lingering dining experience, but do not go if you're on a schedule.

We love this restaurant, went there Mothers Day weekend and everything was fabulous! Service, food, price for the special lobster/filet menu, win—PERFECT! The food was so delicious, well prepared, our server was wonderful-attentive but not on top of us throughout the meal, it was a special night! We joined the wine club and it’s a great deal, good discounts, and rewards that add up and save money! The wines are truly awesome, too!

A new restaurant with terrific potential. Part of our disappointment was timing—the restaurant was short staffed due to an unexpected early influx of customers at 4pm. Our server did his best, but was clearly overloaded. The kitchen was also a bit slow, which added to the waitstaff’s frustration. Definitely worth a revisit. We tempered our expectations knowing that new restaurants need time to iron out the wrinkles. Thanks

FAQs

Yes, Cooper’s Hawk in Madison is a popular date-night spot thanks to its wine-focused experience, elevated American menu and warm, wine-country atmosphere. Many guests praise the wine flights, bottle pairings and dishes like steaks, pretzel-crusted pork chops and chicken piccata. Note: weekends and peak dinner service can be lively and sometimes noisy, and a few guests reported slower service on busy nights, consider an early reservation or a tasting at the bar before dinner for a smoother evening.

Portions are generally generous, guests frequently mention plentiful appetizers and sizable entrees (steaks, pork chops and risottos). Appetizers and shareable items are good for splitting, and desserts are also substantial. A few guests felt some entrees were small for the price on rare occasions, so if you want leftovers or are especially hungry, consider adding a starter or sharing a large appetizer.

The spot also offers bar and tasting‑bar seating as well as main dining room seating. Accessibility specifics (ADA ramps, wheelchair‑accessible tables) aren’t provided here, so call ahead if you need verified accessible seating or special accommodations.

Weekdays (Monday–Thursday) are often the best bet for a quieter, more attentive experience. Sunday brunch and weekday lunch can also be pleasant. Avoid peak Friday/Saturday dinner service for a calmer meal unless you want a lively atmosphere.
