Sit back and take in the many decorative nuances that make Dakota's still one of the most romantic spots in Dallas. Outside the restaurant, the multi-level waterfall, draping foliage and black granite patio bar make dining outdoors a delight. Inside the restaurant, the New Orleans lamps and imported marble floors neatly package the classic theme.
Everything was awesome
Best steak either of us have ever eaten!
Terrific food, great service. Overall a great place to eat with family and friends
Great Wagyu steak and lobster! The server was very knowledgable and attentive. Great ambiance.
Overall, it was a very nice experience. Dry-aged Cowboy ribeye and lamb chops were the best we’ve had.
Only room for improvement is the location of our seating where it’s supposed to be private with three walls, expect it’s also next to the kitchen and bathroom.
Wonderful dinner with friends and will definitely go back next time in Dallas
The wait staff was on point. The crab cake app was really good, full of crab, goods portion, and the slaw with vinaigrette was off the chain. I can’t say so much for the steak. The cook was under from my order of medium. I ordered the 16oz ribeye and while there was a good flavor the meat was not as tender from prime steaks I have personally bought and cooked at home or at other prime steakhouses. The chef also did not check the steak before cooking and left several pieces of gristle throughout the portion. I can deal with one small piece but I cut three bites from different sections of the steak I received and three bites in a row I had to withdraw gristle. This is not an expectation at a prime house. It’s also embarrassing to do this when seated between other couples trying to enjoy their nice meal/night out. I was very irritated by the third piece in a row and just gave up. The wait staff apologized but it wasn’t their fault. They offered another steak but if the chef did it once he’d do it again. I had coconut pie that was ok. The crust is made from cookie dough and was actually better than the pie filling. They did have a really good cup of coffee and it was actually hot when served. That is a point most restaurants miss the mark on so that was appreciated. Overall the flavor of what I had was good and I’d probably go back but This first experience with Dakota’s was overwhelming disappointing for a reservation I had looked forward to for a month and the main course to turn me off so quickly.
A lot of noise with piano playing, could hardly have conversation at table. Great food..Outstanding Service.
The service we had at this restaurant was really terrible. We complained to the manager, but our waiter could not do the job. in the end, they took off the 20%tip and gave the table free desert. I think the waiter was not trained for the job.
Service was lacking. Appetizers came before bread. Waiter was non-existent at times. Coffee drinks were served cold. And no acknowledgement of special occasion for birthday recipient. I would not recommend or return to this restaurant.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Bar area was cozy. Sat by a fire with a view up towards sky
Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu - answered all our questions very thoroughly. The dry aged bone-in ribeye was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
Loved it. Food was great and servers were nice as well!
New Year’s Eve dinner with my wife.
Food was cold. Slow service and it felt like we were not important to our server. The steak was cold, as were the sides. Very, very bad experience and I would actively discourage people from going there.
We went to Dakota’s to celebrate NYE. I’ve heard about Dakotas for so long and was very excited to go. The restaurant is very nice, the food was good, but our waiter was definitely lacking. After getting our food, he did not stop by one time. I finally had to raise my hand as he walked by in order to get his attention. When you spend over $300 on a meal, you expect the service to match the price and that did not happen for us. I will say that I did see other waiters that appeared to be great.
I do not know that we will dine here again, but I did check it off my list so that’s good.
New Years Eve but this restaurant should be able to handle a full 7pm seating. Some food was cold, others over cooked to death. I eat in many high end steak houses and this experience was overall poor! Invest in some acoustical sound absorbing decor.
What a great way to spend New Year's Eve. Always a treat to dine at Dakota's!!
Amazing experience. The food and service were impeccable. My husband and I had New York strips that were divine. The side dishes (which are usually disappointments for us at other steakhouses) were fabulous. The roasted corn, fries, and brussel sprouts were delicious. The corn and sprouts has such complex flavors that were complimentary and really enjoyable. The ambiance and piano playing made for a very pleasant and romantic evening. We will be back next time we are in Dallas.
50th Wedding Anniversary. Staff made it a really great evening. Food was great service even better
Great ambiance and good food. It met the standard I have when dining at an upscale restaurant. Our waiter could’ve been more attentive. It was a busy evening, but that’s usually the case in restaurants like this on a Saturday evening. Overall, it’s not the best but a worthy choice when wanting a fine dining experience.
For the price, I thought the service was average. Similar service to Cheesecake factory, expected better service for this upscale place. It was also too loud, not sure if they pump in noise, but so loud, hard to have a conversation at the table. Food was great, but with so many other restaurants in Dallas, don't think we would return. Sad, it used to be such a great place.....
People were great and respectful. Loved the atmosphere and the food!! I will definitely being coming back to Dakota's soon!
We had our family Christmas Eve dinner at Dakotas. It was the perfect mix of great food, great service, and festive piano music without being too loud.
Food was great as usual! Waiter was awesome.
Steak's were cold and not cook to the way we liked it or ordered never got our sides plates of food, I've gone to Dakota's many times but not again, I canceled the dinner we were going to do on Christmas eve.
Listen I like the spot super nice in the summer but the food has gone down big time, and that is sad, pray they get it together real soon and I may come back some day soon !!!
Not up to our past experiences.
The steak was good but the scallop potatoes were warm/cold. I informed the waiter and he took them off the bill but it still shouldn’t have happened at this quality of restaurant.
Service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend for special occasions.
Was as good or better then Hell’s Kitchen in Las Vegas
Superb service and food. This is a steakhouse that really knows how to cook a steak, and the rest of the meal was excellent as well.
Very nice. Bar area was too noisy. Well worth a visit.
Not a good experience with food and service. It was my office staff Christmas lunch.
Haven’t been there in 34 years. As excellent today as it was then.
Had a great experience!
Fantastic as always!!
Waitress Cassie was awesome Steaks and lobster m & c great. Love this place
Overall good experience, but food was just okay. Crab cakes were dry, pork belly was flavorful but tough and steak while perfectly cooked, just didn’t have much flavor. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the reviews and articles. Great atmosphere and service though.
Fabulous, with great staff. Food was good but I think the last chef was a tad better.
We were celebrating our Anniversary so they made it special for us. The food was excellent as was the service and drinks.
