This restaurant offers a bit of everything to make for a very enjoyable dining experience. Great atmosphere, excellent service and delicious menu options. It makes for a perfect before show performance at the Hobby Center or any time and also has a great view of downtown Houston.
Enjoyed before the Sunday show. Great experience. Food and service was very good for our group of 4. Love the pimento cheese appetizer. French dip was great! Salad special was very good and plenty for a meal. Definitely will be going back.
Food was good and delivered to the table very quickly. Service did not meet my expectation. Have had better service in the past.
It is a good place for Lunch for Pre-Theatre. The staff is very attuned to the time concerns of people going to the show. Food, service and pricing is good.
We usually really enjoy eating at Diana American Grill. The food was, as always, very good. They have wonderful soup. I got the fried shrimp which is a recent menu addition and was not disappointed. The service this time left much to be desired. We didn’t get our entrees until well after waiting 40 minutes. Every table near us who came in after us had been served before us. When the server finally brought us the food, she had messed up the order from fried shrimp to shrimp cocktail. I questioned what I had been served and she agreed that it was not fried shrimp. She took it back to replace it but didn’t bring me any coleslaw which the menu said came with it. Her explanation was that I had told her I only wanted the shrimp cocktail sauce and not the tartar sauce. I’m not sure how that translated into no coleslaw. I’m guessing she won’t last long at Diana’s but it didn’t make for a smooth lunch experience this time.
Diana American Grill is a great place to go for dinner before the show. The food is excellent and the service is always friendly and very efficient. Very good wine selection, too!
The newest menu is a great improvement. Thank you for bringing back deviled eggs, in an interesting new presentation. The crab and spinach dip with crostini is a wonderful addition. Service was incredible, as always.
This is a great place for a preshow meal if your attending a performance at the Hobby Center. Great for a lunch or dinner. I've always had a great experience here and your waiter will close your ticket so your not caught needing to leave for the show with a check open.
We had a very nice dinner and very much enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The meal was nicely done and our wait staff were very pleasant.
Service was amazing. This was a great restaurant to go to before the ballet.
We tried the new soup of the day, chicken poblano. It was outstanding. What wasn’t great was the pace of the meal. It took way too long to get the soup, and as a result, the burger that we ordered was done before we were finished with the soup. We watched the burger come out, saw the server walk around the restaurant with it, then take it back to the kitchen till we were ready for it. As a result, the burger was a little dry and warm. Normally, we love their juicy burgers, but letting it sit too long did not help its taste. Our server did recognize the error and comped our dessert which was nice of him. We also really liked the new bread. Much improved over the old recipe.
The bacon wrapped scallops are a nice addition. Please bring back the deviled eggs and the chips.
Wonderful service, and most of the food and wine was very good. Crackers served w homemade pimento cheese were tasteless, and our short ribs were salty, needed to be more natural or light juice instead of heavy gravy. Wonderful atmosphere. A little pricey for the heavy entree. But I actually love this place, wanting every food choice to live up to how enjoyable the whole experience can be!
Eric was our server. He did a fabulous job. He was attentive without being intrusive. Always had his happy smile in place. The entree was good, the presentation was beautiful and everything was fresh. Just did not appeal to my palate. Try their pimento cheese appetizer. It is amazing.
My moms filet mignon steak was rare and she could barely eat it. We ordered medium but didn’t have time to send it back for more cooking before the play.
The food was mediocre. Was sat in the dining room, but served by the bar staff. Not what inspected for what I paid.
We had a lovely dinner prior to the theater! Friendly service and great food and beverages.
The waiter was much better than the last time. He was very attentive and professional. Food was good.
Good food reasonably priced wine and excellent service
Food was delicious & waitstaff well trained - very friendly and attentive. Thank you
Was a wonderful experience, just a little pricy for me.
Love Diana Grill! Staff is very friendly and food is amazing!
I will not be back. A $200 meal and my fish was cold and my husband received a cold steak. I told the waiter who said he made the chef aware but I knew he was lying because he was probably the reason for the cold food. It took us 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. I do not recommend. A waste of money. Cold food and tiny portions. Will not be back!
I have never had a bad experience at Diana American Grill. The food is always outstanding and the service top notch.
Salad dressing was vinegar no ranch dressing available. Bread dressing for trout was dry and sparse. Waitress and manager were very apologetic.
We were disappointed. The Caesar salad was totally unacceptable and we sent it back. It had no croutons or Parmesan cheese and an unfamiliar salad dressing. The pasta dish was overcooked and chewy and the meat sauce was scarce. Management came and offered an apology and an explanation of the salad that did not makeup for our poor dining experience. In fairness the salmon was really good and moist.
Service was not good. This place seemed like it had just opened. When our entrees came out, I was served the wrong one. It was meant for the table next to us. Waited over 5 minutes for my entree. They forgot our side of asparagus and it was another 5 minutes. A really unorganized and poorly managed restaurant. Food was average at best.
Food quality not even close to the cost. Cocktails were good.
Food wasn't great, the service very poor. Way too overpriced. We also couldn't leave our food to pick up after the production. We won't go back, regardless of the convenience.
food was good. except crabcakes...get another recipe ...from pappadeux.
Ambiance and service is nice. Food is mediocre at best and very expensive.
We eat here regularly before plays and enjoy the meal each time
The food was good. The atmosphere was great. And our waiter was great as well.
We continue to love the soup. The prime rib sandwich needed a bit more cheese on it. Didn’t enjoy the lobster mac and cheese as much as in the past. It seems silly, but they changed the noodles, using pasta shells instead of the longer twisty pasta. Our server, Yamilith, was amazing. We did not want for anything.
Good place for lunch and then onto a play at the Hobby Center
Good food, good service and they are very aware that that they are serving people who are there to see a show at the Hobby Theatre
Show at Hobby Center
Very convenient if attending a play or something in the area. The food was just OK, but drinks were great. The server had limited knowledge of gluten-free options.
The location can't be beat if you're seeing a show at The Hobby. But you'll pay accordingly. Food was okay, not fantastic. At any other location, I'd say it was overpriced for what it was.
Need to keep the food hot- both the soup and entrees where seved room temperature
