Fun vibe, good food, fast service. Love that it is a good place we don't have to go all the way downtown for.
My husband and I had dinner reservations at Diego’s for Cinco and it was scrumptious. We highly recommend the grilled fish tacos (the crema is delicious!), Diego’s carnitas tacos, queso blanco, and the pineapple jalapeño margarita. In the past we have also ordered the queso flameado and the shrimp skewer which we enjoyed. Previous reviews dragged their salsa but I love it. It’s not your authentic Mexican salsa. There’s a slight sweetness to it which I really enjoy. I couldn’t place one ingredient and my husband guessed beet? Regardless of the “secret” ingredient, it’s the perfect amount. Both times we dined here our servers were friendly and knowledgeable regarding food and drinks, (despite being slammed on Cinco). Lastly, the interior designer killed it. The restaurant decor is amazing. We will return for patio drinks in the summer and beyond.
The food was fine but for the cost I would have expected better quality and a bigger portion. I don't think charging for chips and salsa at Mexican restaurant is necessary.
We visited for the first time on cinco de Mayo and it was packed to the gills. Even with the extra crowd the service was stellar. The drinks were fabulous! The food was good too. The decor and ambiance were on point. I can’t wait to come back to visit.
Absolutely the best place to spend May 5th! Food and drinks were great and we will return.
Love the decor, the food was good and the staff was super friendly!
Diego’s is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in STL. Such a beautiful restaurant and patio! We had a wonderful time and our waiter, Juan, brought all the energy. We loved the fish tacos and shrimp burrito. Highly recommend Diego’s for fresh Mexican
Great atmosphere. The food was average. The service was nonexistent. I would go back for happy hour in the future.
Margaritas were not great. The restaurant does not provide sugar (odd). Price was high for the portion and quality of the food. Service was iffy. Space is beautiful.
Fresh Mexican food. Server was professional. Enjoyable meal but a kettle pricey.
Our new favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Reservation was ready on time. The food was dangerously good, we liked the queso flameado and shrimp taco probably the most. Mixed drinks were good.
Decent New Mexican place in perfect location , A great change , would be a perfect place by adding couple more special dinner choices.
Great night out! Service and food exceeded expectations.
Amazing food and service, space was clean and safe. Will definitely return!
The food was subpar. I picked this place because they had vegan options. The two vegan menu items I tried were overpriced and not at all appetizing. The salad was extremely plain/bland. The bean dip had more raw onion than I’d ever be able to eat. My date ordered shrimp tacos which were also FULL of onion more than anything. The queso dip was decent. The chips and salsa were okay. I liked the patio seating, it was nice and quiet and cozy on a chilly Friday night. The service was not great but not terrible. We waiting far too long before being checked on most times. Overall, it was not a good experience. I can’t see myself going back. The food just wasn’t good.
We had an amazing experience from the time we called to make the reservation to the service throughout the evening. The food was delicious and we can't wait to go back!
My husband and I went there on a Friday evening. We had a reservation to sit in their patio. They had happy hour and live music when we arrived. Their chips, queso, salsa and marga were awesome! The tacos were average but the ambiance was on point! I would definitely recommend it :)
Our first time to Diego’s was excellent. We were able to get reservations outside for just the time we wanted. The service was attentive and there no delay in the arrival of our meal. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. We will go again.
Wish I could say I loved it. Location great!
Margaritas good. Tacos good.
The chips ok but salsa wasn’t good, very bland and that’s what gets us back to a Mexican restaurant -the chips and salsa.
We can walk there, so really wish they would upgrade their chips and salsa.
After a longtime to stay at home by COVID-19. We were really happy and we enjoyed everything. Diego’s take all recommendations for to prevent issues by the virus. The social distance, open windows, mask, and more. Excellent food, service, and personal.
Love the patio and decor. Food was delicious and service was great. Best margaritas!!
It was a fun place. The atmosphere is lively. The service could have been just a little faster.
Way too loud and the food was ordinary. Wine pours were too small. Will not come back.
The food had little taste. The waiter brought the wrong drinks twice. Worst margaritas we ever had.
Had a delightful lunch on the patio at Diego's Cantina. The tacos are delicious and server was very charming. Great experience!
Food was great, as well as service. Like the environment.
Waited 5 mins and no one came to the table. Looked like it was $6 for a taco so we left.
Service was slow and she got the bills mixed up (charged the wrong amount based on the ticket). The food was good, but a little on the expensive side for a small plate.
Space heaters were adequate for this blustery lunch. Food great, as always.
This was my 3rd time at Diegos and again it was great . I have had the CHIPS & SALSA, guacamole, QUESO FLAMEADO , DIEGO'S CARNITAS, EL DIABLO (seriously HOT), and Quesadilla. All are very good and the mixed drinks and Sangria are great. When first saw the menu, I thought, oh it's just regular mexican but Diego's is elevated. We will definitely be back. Also, they handle the spatial separation well And the restrooms are very clean.
Great little patio. We were sat between a fire pit and a propane heater so temp was excellent for a night that was in the mid forties.
If you want to cheer up yourself and have a good time while eating, this is the place! Delicious food and ambience
Unique and attractive vibe. Great food. Fantastic margaritas.
Michael is always a great host and server. Food just superb. Good quality and tasty. Always a pleasant experience to dine at Diego’s. And... Margaritas were fantastic
It was such a fun spot, they use fresh juice in their margaritas (apparently go through 100 lbs of juice a week) and the menu is delish. They have really tasty specialty tacos and entrees. Great decor with hanging baskets chandeliers and a botanical vacation vibe.
Everything is so fresh! They do not offer pork or beef products, but do have seafood and chicken. You won't miss the pork or beef!
Following all Covid protocol. Service was prompt and waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent suggestions which we took. They have some unique items like their tacos with grilled cheese and their grilled banana desert. Both were delicious. House margarita was very good not overly sweet like other chain restaurants. Would like them to add tamales to their menu since I am sure they would be awesome.
While the staff was friendly, the food was a disaster. Nachos with perhaps $3 of ingredients charged $15. We will never go back.
