I truly dont like the food... the location Is perfect...but i was expecting a better service. Definitely not returning back

We selected our meal from the HRW menu which looked very promising. Sadly my meal did not deliver, giant mussels served on the half shell, a first for me. The ginger sauce was nice albeit light on the ginger taste, and bread would have been better than pita to soak it up. The osso buco had an odd spicy sauce and a bone with no marrow. On the other hand server Damon was very attentive and responsive to our requests, which salvaged an otherwise disappointing meal. Diners should not be put off by District 7’s location adjacent to the Pierce elevated, best known for the homeless population residing nearby - a high fence and a watchful restaurant staff keep their location secure. This is a very casual eatery that should stick to its regular menu, but I’ll give them props for trying the fancier fare.

This is a hidden gem. The environment is great, and the food is delicious and well priced. I went with some friends and we all enjoyed it. Great service as well, so don't pass it up.

Three of us went to dinner wanting a low key, relatively inexpensive meal. To be honest, we got what we were looking for. The menu has decent variety, but the meals we had didn't meet expectations. Frankly, the one dish we all really enjoyed was the artichoke spinach dip appetizer with naan chips (we could have eaten a bucketful if we had the chance). I had the blackened redfish piccata - the fish was fine, though not as seasoned as I would have liked. The pasta was very bland - I ended up eating less than half of it. My wife had the parmesan crusted chicken on linguine - unfortunately, she had ordered the sandwich version, but the server had entered it in wrong. She, too, though her pasta was bland and ate even less than I had. Our daughter had the pesto chicken naan pizza, which she enjoyed. I was not aware that they did not have a full bar, but my vodka lemonade was very good, and the ladies were satisfied with their wine. We did share the creme brulee, which was exceptional. So in summary - some hits, some misses, but satisfactory for the price. We'll try again if we're in the area, but it certainly won't be a destination restaurant for us.

A very nice surprise! The location was a little questionable and when we arrived there were only a few cars in the lot, which made us hesitate. However, as the evening went on more customers arrived. The food and service was great and good sized menu with a broad range of choices. I would definitely return.
