Divino - Brentwood
The intimate family setting combined with the professional service just add to the fact that DIVINO is a little culinary diamond in the rough.
Small intimate restaurant. Darkly lit and tables very close together. Can’t get out of seat without bumping table or patron next to you. Service is good.
The food and specials are always amazing. Our waiter was checking on us just enough to make everything wonderful. The owner came to our table and gave us the name of the Italian market where he buys his olive oil and balsamic.
We are certainly looking forward to our next experience!
This was my first time at Divino, and an excellent find for a nice cozy lunch with a client!
The food was Excellent! the the owner and waiter all had excellent tips on the menu!
The food we very fresh and was enjoyed by all very much! We will be back!
Waited to be seated for 10 minutes, no one approached us, restaurant not full. Main course came as we were finishing our starter. then had to wait 10-15 minutes for dessert after ordered, again the restaurant was not full.
Food was flat, no taste.
Have eaten at Divino occasionally over many years ( do not live in the area) and was very disappointed in the lack of attention and the food
Fabulous! Great food and excellent ambiance and service
It's a long drive from Glendale but worth the effort!
One of the best meals in a long time! Truly amazing and so warm and welcoming. We all had the best time and loved our food!
Divino is one of the very best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. The food is outanding and original and the service is wonderful. This is a hidden gem in Brentwood
Always delicious food and gracious service! To start, I
had a cool salad - perhaps it was butter lettuce - with warm varied mushrooms and for the main course I
ordered a delicious seafood pasta with shrimp, lots of calamari, and one clam in a tomato and fish stock sauce. It was delightful. we topped that off with a shared dessert. and after considering everything they had offered, we settled on an apple pie with a vanilla cream sauce.
As always, the owner, Goren, was there and, as always, he was warm and smiling. Everything about Divino is just perfect.
Service was slow, food unremarkable,
Everything was good except the busboy cleaned the table even though we said no and then took our food that we wanted to take home. It happened so fast we didn’t have a chance to tell him.
Excellent restaurant with amazing food and cordial hospitality. Highly recommended.
The food is quite expensive but only average. The restaurant is also very cramped and it can be hard to breathe for anyone with claustrophobia. The service was good and the waiters were friendly.
It was great!!
We go there every year when we volunteer for the golf tournament at Riviera. Close to the hotel and good food. What more could you ask for?
Cozy, delicious food, great service and beautiful venue. Thank you!
They handled a party of 12 easily and efficiently. The food was great, the service was fine and the wine excellent and very affordable. We were upstairs where conversation was easy and since a lot of people in our party didn’t know each other it was easy to have multiple conversations. A 5 star review!
We love this place for the food, service, ambiance, …, you name it.
In the past, I have recommended Divino to friends as a reliable neighborhood restaurant. However, my last experience was very disappointing. We were seated near the front door and drapes in front of the door did little to stop the cold air so the ambiance was "chilly". My friend asked for water without ice and received a glass of hot water. and then had trouble getting a regular glass of water. We were splitting a salad and they only brought one plate to divide the salad. The salad was marinated vegetables on a bed of greens. The vegetables and greens were soggy. The entree special (a cheese-less lasagna on pureed peas) sounded better than it tasted.
We love Divino-Brentwood even though on a Saturday night it was very crowded and a bit noisy, the Host and Hostess were so calm and welcoming it soon felt nice just to be there and part of the whole scene. Also, our request for a quiet table for 4 was honored which we were very pleased about. The food and the service was excellent, as it has been every time we have been there.
We are so glad it is in our neighborhood and also glad it is so popular - we will be back very soon.
Thank You, RitaB
Have been a fan for a very long time, Had a party of 10 and food and service was excellent. Goran runs a wonderful restaurant.
Great food and great service, but we had the misfortune of being seated at a table right next to the entrance. Diners entering the restaurant congregate right up against the table, the door (which is 1 foot away), is constantly being opened and shut, and people jostle the chairs because there is no room. The restaurant should not seat this table, or should remove the chairs that are in the entry way so that it is a table for 2. Undermined an otherwise great meal.
Divino is a charming place. Like a neighborhood cafe, but with much better food and service. The owner, Goran, is always present to make sure that all goes smoothly--he makes you feel valued. Love the food and have never had anything that wasn't great. Noise level is so much lower than similar places even though tables are close together.
Always great. Feel like you’re in Italy. Never disappointed
Love the location and ambiance, however contrary to photos posted on Yelp the portions were skimpy and pasta undercooked. Chewy, not even al-dente. My pasta special which featured Italian sausage and rapini did not contain pieces of either, but rather it was ground up as the sauce thereby unsatisfying for me as an entree. The wine portions were ample and service good.
Great service with tasty dishes. Yummy pizza & pastas.
Excellent food, warm, friendly ambience, crowded and a bit noisy at 8PM on a Saturday night but welcoming and fun so it was soon so easy to blend into the whole scene with comfort. And, a very special compliment goes to our Server, Tanino, who was wonderful: so professional, friendly and competent. He made us feel right at home. And, also our compliments to the Chef: all four of us loved our appetizers and main courses.
The entire dining experience was a total pleasure. We live in the neighborhood and were happy to re-discover Divino. We will be back soon!
food was delicious. paparadelle with short rib is amazing. The waiter has found his calling....soo good at his job
Wonderful! Everything was delicious, and we had great service. Highly recommended.
Four of us met at Divino for dinner. Initially we were made welcome, but then everything happened so slow. Perhaps our lively conversation was being respected but when we wanted attention, we had to signal for it. It was chilly as the front door leaked the cold in from outside, and the tables we pre3tty close - one of my companions was frequently bumped from the table behind him. We started with a salad, which was unremarkable, and followed with lamb chops which were more fatty than I would have expected. A friend had the gnocchi which she liked. But I had a taste and didn't find it interesting at all. She only ate half. Worst was the service. about the only person who paid us any mind was the busboy, probably because he had to pass our table frequently. We won't be back.
Do not book via Open Table. They will not honor your reservation. We booked 45 minutes in advance for Christmas Eve dinner. There were at least 10 open tables in a mostly empty restaurant. The hostess after giving us attitude told us, “You booked 5 minutes ago.” She comes back after another 15 minutes and says, “we only have one table outside.” It was 57 degrees outside and my parents are incredibly sensitive to the cold. We then looked around and noticed we were the only Asian family here. Guess we didn’t match the right color of the spectrum.
No lettuce on a Saturday night! Food was very expensive. Soup was lukewarm.
Great ambiance. Bad food.
Been coming here for years as it was always great and the service was professional. But last night it was disappointing from the moment we arrived. In spite of a reservation we were not seated for 30 minutes with no apology or acknowledgement. All we could do was stand in the doorway as there is no waiting area. Once seated it was another long wait to order and we sat there with just water that a busboy brought. The food was good when it finally arrived and then we had to ask for bread twice. Just bad service from start to finish so I hope it was just an aberration.
Goran has created an amazing restaurant. Food is always outstanding and the service is superb. It is like eating in his home.
Excellent restaurant with an Italian flare. Family owned and operated by a superb chef.
Food is consistently good -- the pappardelle with brisket ragu is outstanding and hard to order anything else. Very welcoming from the time you walk through the door.
It was a perfect spot to catch up with a friend for good conversation and a leisurely dinner. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We had the minestrone, burrata salad, crab spaghetti and shared a “brûlée” for dessert. Definitely worth checking out!
Divino consistently delivers top quality dining at moderate prices
