Food and staff were both excellent, and the dishes were well executed. The biggest issue was the service speed — the restaurant seemed understaffed, which led to long waits throughout the meal, staff rushing between tables. The atmosphere was also much louder than expected, with several large parties making it difficult to have a conversation. If you’re expecting an upscale or intimate ambiance, this probably isn’t the right fit. Still, the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff were definite highlights.

Dolce Ville was amazing! They accommodated our large party so well, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The drinks were fantastic, and we loved all of the appetizers, pizza, and pasta. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food and overall experience. Such a great new spot, definitely worth checking out. We will absolutely be back!

Our work group really enjoyed our meal. The menu was not overwhelming which in my view is positive but with plenty of choices. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend the restaurant and would certainly put it on my list to return back to.

Our server was extremely polite and greeted us with a smile. She made us feel welcome and came to the table at the perfect times. The food was delicious! You are brought fresh ficohsa bread and oil which is great! The mushroom Arancini app was delicious and fresh. The lasagna and spaghetti carbonara were also great entrees for dinner. Great for groups of friends or a date night. I’ll be back!

Tonnato Vitello was a unique and delicious appetizer. Would have been even better accompanied by bread to put it on. Spaghetti Carbonara and Piccata di Dorado were very good. Desserts on the menu are not necessarily available.

Ambience great. But food was bland (got polenta app and rigatoni alla vodka). The waitress got the order wrong. Food was not very hot when it came out. I would not go back

The food here was really bad. Our pizza was not as advertised. They just gave us a cheese pizza and added the toppings of the pizza we ordered to it. The food did not look like what you see on their instagram unfortunately. I let our waitress know about the pizza and the disappointment and they offered us $10 off even though we didn't eat it. Will not return.

FAQs

Warm, cozy and casually elegant, guests frequently praise the atmosphere as intimate and welcoming, ideal for date nights and neighborhood dinners. Many call out lovely decor, friendly staff and a relaxed vibe; some guests noted occasional disruptions (photography near window tables) and a few recent reports of the dining room being cold on certain visits. Overall the consensus highlights great ambiance paired with thoughtful Italian cuisine.

Family-friendly: yes, guests frequently mention families dining, birthday celebrations, and teens joining dinners. Accessible seating: not explicitly stated, so call ahead if you need wheelchair access or special seating. If you’re coming with children, consider an earlier reservation; the atmosphere is casual-elegant and staff have accommodated celebrations in the past.

Not explicitly stated, but guests’ reports suggest busy nights can fill quickly, so reservations are recommended. For peak times (weekend nights, holidays like Valentine’s Day) call ahead to check availability; the staff may maintain a waitlist or suggest a later seating, but it’s best to reserve to avoid disappointment.

Generally yes, families and birthday parties are commonly mentioned by guests, and many families report enjoying the food and service. The menu focuses on Neapolitan pizza and handmade pasta rather than a dedicated kids’ menu, so for younger children consider an earlier seating or asking staff about simpler pasta or pizza options. Call ahead if you need high chairs or other accommodations.

Yes, Dolce Ville is a popular pick for date night. Guests often praise the cozy, warm atmosphere, creative Italian plates (handmade pasta, Neapolitan pizza) and attentive staff, making it great for a romantic evening. The space is described as casual-elegant and good for relaxed dinners; many guests specifically recommended it for special occasions and birthdays. For a quieter, more intimate table ask for a window seat and consider an early reservation on weeknights.

The best time depends on the vibe you want. For a quieter, more attentive experience try midweek evenings (guests reported smooth service on Wednesdays and weekday nights). If you want a lively atmosphere, visit on Friday or Saturday nights when the restaurant is busier. Avoid major holidays unless you book ahead, guests noted busy nights like Valentine’s Day can sell out or run short on certain items.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday nights and special holidays (guests reported high demand on Valentine’s Day). Quietest: midweek evenings, Tuesday through Thursday, are often calmer and were specifically praised by guests for timely service. For a quieter table, aim for earlier weeknight seatings or a Sunday opening hour.

Portions tend to be moderate rather than oversized, guests commonly describe the plating as well portioned and thoughtfully paced. A few guests mentioned portions were slightly smaller than expected, while others noted good value (two meals plus dessert for about $65). Expect restaurant-style portions that highlight quality and presentation rather than family-style piles; if you’re very hungry, consider ordering an extra appetizer or a pizza to share.

Dolce Ville offers a cozy dining room with window tables and bar seating; however, it does not list private dining rooms or party spaces. Guests mention window tables being desirable for photos and atmosphere, and the space is set up for casual-elegant dinner service rather than large private events. If you need a specific table or seating arrangement, call ahead to request it.

Business casual is the stated dress code. Guests tend to dress smart-casual for the relaxed‑elegant setting, think neat, comfortable attire suitable for a nice dinner out in River North. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, business casual will fit the atmosphere well.

Dolce Ville is open in the evenings most days, plan on dinner service. Current posted hours are: Tue–Thu 4:00 pm–10:00 pm, Fri 4:00 pm–11:00 pm, Sat 5:00 pm–11:00 pm, Sun 5:00 pm–10:00 pm. Because the restaurant focuses on dinner service, arriving during those evening hours is best; call ahead or check online before holidays or special events.

Yes, the staff appear willing to accommodate reasonable special requests, but policies can vary, so call ahead. Guests have reported successful birthday desserts and friendly service for celebrations, though one guest noted a reservation note about a birthday wasn’t acknowledged. Also note: while Dolce Ville previously accepted BYOB, guests say corkage was refused after the restaurant obtained a liquor license and wine selection is limited; confirm any corkage or menu requests in advance.

Midweek (Wednesday or a weekday evening) is often the best day for a relaxed visit. Several guests reported great service and timely seating on Wednesdays and weeknights, while weekends are livelier and better if you want a bustling atmosphere. Book ahead for Friday/Saturday nights or holiday evenings to secure the table you want.
