What Insiders Are Saying
Surprises are great, and so is The Duck Inn.
We live in the neighborhood, but I recommend Duck Inn to anyone looking for an amazing night out. The signature cocktail list is amazing and the service is top notch. We went all out with the tasting menu for a rare night out and it was an absolute delight. The craftsmanship of the food, drinks, decor, everything is worth the trip.
We had a great dinner at the Duck Inn. Food and service were both outstanding and everyone enjoyed their meal. We wish there had been more orders of duck wings available, they were delicious!
Drinks were really good! Excellent service! Food was way too salty!!! Pretty presentations, but the tasty was mediocre. I don’t think I would go back.
Sat at the bar on a Saturday night, drinks were creative, one had bone stock, And other elixirs, fresh herbs and came in a soup bowl, was delicious. Octopus with mole was very flavorful, would go back for that alone. Burrata was also very fresh and tasty, could maybe have a few more toast points. Brussel sprouts were plentiful and i liked the way they were prepared, heavy in butter but both delicious as well. Duck wings were tender and priced right. Would go back!
Good food, good service, nice people, compelling story, fantasy location, easy free parking—all of which is tragically compromised by incessant, intolerable noise, which lowers the rating from 5 stars to 3 (and that is a gift). If noise-dampening tiles are installed in the ceiling, I’ll bet back, but not until then.
Great overall dinner experience. Our group of 4 ordered 5 appetizers, 2 entrees, 4 desserts, and the roasted duck to share. Every dish was incredible with the exception of the panna cotta dessert. All the drinks we had were unique and tasted great (they were a tad pricey). Our server was exceptional and it helped that all the staff paid attention to every table to make sure dishes were cleared, water was full, etc. I would highly recommend the Duck Inn!!
Great service and delicious dinner from first to last course. Vibrant and interesting.
A true hidden neighborhood gem.
Wonderful food & terrific service.
Deep wine & cocktail list.
Make sure to order the cheese curds & preorder a duck.
Both are fantastic !
Enjoyed the Hot Dog Water beer. Duck was fantastic.
A great way to spend an afternoon enjoying creative cocktails and two delicious brunch dishes.
I really like the Duck Inn. I have been there for dinners and have never been disappointed. The rotisserie duck for two is great. I have also been there several times for brunch and it is really good for this, with good food and pleasant atmosphere. I just noted that they are open with food until 11:00 during the week and later on weekends, so I am going to try it after the theater.
Delicious as usual. duck wings cooked just right, fantastic cocktails, hard to choose entre, all sound so good.
Outstanding as usual. Our waiter J. was just lovely (and all the other staff too!)
We had a big party for Christmas. Shared plates went around and then entrees. A few had the wonderful duck but myself and other had the giant ribeye they were offering, outstanding. Our 8pm reservation led us to closing the bar. Great night
Dinner was spectacular. We enjoyed Duck everything! Ambiance was great and food was delicious. Our server was very nice but was a bit much. Too loud at times, but overall did a great job.
Will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our time at Duck Inn we were a table of 6 and shared 3 appetizers and 5 entrees and everything was great. The one thing that left a bad taste in our mouth was the offer of truffles grated on the mushroom pasta, it was a casual offer, like would you like parmesan cheese on that...so we all agreed . Then we got the bill and the grating of truffles was $35.00, more expensive that most of our entrees. So in the end even though we had a great time we left feeling a little ripped off.
Today's brunch consisted of myself and 2 of my favorite women..... My mother and my godmother. Everything was absolutely delicious. From the cocktails that Kevin made (ask for Lorenzo's Manhattan!!).... To the beautiful smiling faces as you walk in... To the impeccable service.... The phenomenal wine list..... Not to mention the food. If you haven't been here... What are you waiting for?! I highly recommend it.
We love the Duck Inn. Every dish is perfectly prepared, well-seasoned, and creative. This time, the bar service was disappointing, apparently understaffed; our drink refills were so slow as to be too late to drink with our meal. Being the holiday season, there were two big groups which became increasingly noisy. We had to close out abruptly. The bar space is quieter, a better choice on a busy night.
The Duck Inn has been a personal favorite since Chef Hickey opened and it remains so for the strong, creative drink, the sensational service and the incredible rotisserie duck dinner -- the breasts done to perfect medium rare, the salad ok, and the duck fat potatoes fantastic. The hard surfaces make conversation difficult but the warmth of the staff and the room compensate. For ocnversation and a whole different vibe, the outdoor patio in Summer/Fall is great.
Even after fighting traffic for 1-1/2 hours to get there, The Duck Inn is special each and every time.
Great neighborhood restaurant, been here four times , liked it every tim
First time was a nice treat. Service was very timely, knowledgeable. Food outstanding.
The duck was amazing! Highly recommend this place!
Food was excellent as always. The duck, of course, along with the hot dog are staples. The special pasta was also quite good and a nice way to add some variety on a return visit.
They were out of a couple of key things and it was only after 6pm on a Friday. Jerome our waiter was nice but a little over the top sometimes. I’d rather someone be themselves and just provide good service rather than someone playing a character and being too much. At times I felt he was yelling and he also took things from the table too quickly. Drinks were good and so were the appetizers. My dinner partner had the ribeye which was good but I was very disappointed with my choice which was the short rib entree.
Went here for brunch on a Sunday and it was amazing. We both loved the food we had (I had biscuits and veggie sausage gravy). We had a really great server who was very attentive and mentioned the industry special they have on Sundays, although we were honest and told her neither of us work in the industry, although we wished we had because of what a great deal it was. Can't wait to go back.
Jarelle was awesome!!!
Our second time in the past few months. Food is fantastic and definitely get the duck if you are a fan. Be patient with service as it gets busy, but staff is very nice. Cocktails are delicious. We will be back again soon!
Terrific across the board.
just plain amazing -- every single dish was mind-blowingly good. and a tremendous atmosphere. great service. will be back!
The service seemed a bit off today. Not sure if they were short staffed. We were seated at a table that had only been set with napkins and 1 knife. The waitress didn't notice until we got our first course. It took over 20 min to get a cocktail and the bar was not busy. I was not quite sure who are server was since 3 different ladies seemed to have been taking our orders and checking in on us. Our first course came out fast. We got it before our cocktails. But then we waited 40 min to get the rest of our order. We needed to split the check between 2 credit cards and when our server returned to get our signatures she dropped of credit cards that belonged to another party. So then there was a wait to get that straight. The food was good. I just wasn't prepared to have a 2 hour brunch .
This place never lets me down. Their patio during the summer, their wine and cocktail list, attentive wait staff and outstanding cuisine for brunch or dinner. Love this place.
Outstanding food & service.
Must order the cheese curds & the duck !!
MY wife and I had dinner to celebrate our anniversary and everyone from the hostess to our waiter were very nice and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of for our celebration without overdoing it. It's not an extravagant or ornate vibe but a classy and comfortable with an obvious effort to make it fit with the neighborhood. A picture of the entrance is attached.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner which was the signature duck rotisserie and a second dish, Spanish octopus which was one of the best preparations of octopus I've had. The duck was very flavorful without being too fatty and the roasted potatoes were prepared with the duck fat as described on their website. I've attached a picture of the duck just after we started to serve ourselves. The wine was excellent and the desserts were also excellent.
The noise level was moderate but we had no trouble hearing each other or feeling like we had our private time. If looking for a romantic dinner it might not fit your taste because of the moderate noise level and the layout of tables makes it difficult to have a place where you are apart from your dining friends.
We will go back and would definitely recommend the Duck Inn to anyone.
Can get very loud.
Great atmosphere and destination spot
Highly recommend Duck special; be sure to order in advance.
We were there for an anniversary. Disappointed that nothing was mentioned by the staff even though I mentioned it in reservations.
But, the food was very good but portions small. The duck was good for two people.
We liked it a lot but will come back on happy hour days and lighter food options to go with happy hour.
Best meal I've ever had! Food was an epicurean delight! Flavors a real party in one's mouth! Food presentation is a work of art in itself! Plenty of opportunities to take picture and share with friends on Facebook. Cocktails are unique and delicious! Can't go wrong with anything you order from the menu as it's all so very good!. A true value for the qualify of food and service you receive here. Enjoy!
Everything was great!
Wonderful in every regard.
