   Edna’s is my favorite restaurant in the world! It checks all the boxes every single time I come. This time I was in Halifax for two weeks so I came twice. I can’t wait to come back, and for what it’s worth, I’m hard to please.

   Absolutely everything was wonderful Fantastic food and great service from a very knowledgeable waitress. I would definitely recommend EDNA's to friends and family and delighted to say that it has solved the purchase of this year's Christmas shopping for some very special people on my list.     We were absolutely blown away by the food, the cocktails, and the service. We had our 8 month old with us and the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional - my mom said it was the best dinner she’s had all year.

    Superb food and service. Really delicious. Even better than last time u went! As someone who wears hearing aids, I found the noise level okay -- I could actually hear my companions although we did sometimes have to talk loud! I liked that there was no music (or if there was music, it was so quiet it made no impression on me!)

    We had a great experience at Edna on August 4, 2022. Food and service were outstanding and the cocktails, especially the Scotia Summer Sipper, were excellent. Our server was knowledgeable about food and wine pairings, recommending an excellent Spanish white to go with the squid & chorizo entree.

    Every dish we tried was imaginatively constructed, creatively presented and, most importantly, delicious. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the service is attentive without being intrusive. We were very happy diners. We arrived early; I imagine it could get much louder a little later in the evening.

    We had a very nice meal at Edna. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Two small comments: the duck breast was tough and a bit chewy- not sure if this relates to the way it was prepared or the duck itself or ? Also the restaurant was too hot at least where we were sitting. I was sweating the entire meal.

    Très bons gnocchis et les pétoncles étaient super. J’ai moins aimé l’entré de burratta. La burratta ressemblait davantage à une simple mozzarella fraîche et il y avait trop de saveurs différentes.

    As always we had a wonderful evening at EDNA's. The staff are amazing as is the food. There was only one person at our table of 4 that didn't like their dish (duck confit), but everything else was AMAZING!

    Such a great meal. Like many places with a small menu, there is usually only one vegetarian main option, and it's usually a pasta. This wasn't our first time at EDNA, my partner loves it there, but for that reason, I've never been as keen. But our amazing server, Kathy, let me know the kitchen will make an off-menu veg offering - an absolute game change I never knew was something they could do. Thanks Kathy - we'll be back!

    Highly recommend the halibut cheek. So tender and rich, especially paired with the potatoes, but offset with acidity from the slightly pickled veg. So good! For dessert, get the sticky toffee pudding with black sesame ice cream. Insane. Sweet, salty, deep, yum.

    Meals arrived promptly and staff were very friendly and helpful with the wine list and menu. We started with the special appetizer of stuffed mushrooms 2 for $3.00, they were tasty. Dinner was the Duck Confit with creamed fennel & brussels, pickled mustard seeds, foie fries, duck jus. Very nicely seared and moist, tasty, but the foie fries seemed out of place and should have been garlic potatoes or something to break up the heavy cream sauce. Not balanced in regards to the whole plate overall. The other meal was the Halibut Cheeks with maple miso, radish, pommes paillasson, garlic & sea truffle emulsion, daikon, sesame, scallion. Very tasty and well balance overall. Dessert - Vanilla Panacotta w/ blueberry lavender compote, blondie crumb, white chocolate. It was seedy so we believe it was blackberry not blueberry. Didn't fancy all the seeds, didn't taste the lavender. Overall it was good and ample portion - share with someone! Sticky Toffee Cake w/ miso butterscotch & black sesame ice cream. Tasty but cake a bit dry, again nice size serving portion.

    The restaurant was recommended to us as a top place to dine in Halifax. Our server reminded us when we sat down that we had a time limit, which set an unpleasant tone. We were disappointed to receive oysters that we improperly shucked. The cocktails were good. Overall the ambiance of the place is quite lovely, and there were sufficient staff to ensure every table had adequate attention.

    We had our first but not last visit to Edna’s . The food was amazing, as a celiac they could modify dishes easily with lots of options. The price was very good for the quality of the ingredients . 3 in our party all had different mains and desert every one was perfection . We enjoyed the relaxed vibe, and we were not rushed out of our seats when we finished eating . We will be back and will be spreading the word . Thank you !

    Loved the vibe! It was not elegant dinning but more of a casual chic experience. We were a party of 4. The only negative was the noise level….hence 4/5 stars. Our wait person, Anna was fabulous, she was always there when we needed something. We enjoyed summery cocktails, amuse bouche, appetizers, mains and shared desserts The food was delicious….just the right number of choices on the menu and lovely flavours to savour served in interesting combinations. Would highly recommend Edna’s.
