This was our first time at Ellyngtons. Everything was wonderful. Including the jazz quartet! Our server Max was excellent! Really enjoyed our entire time there. Definitely recommend

Make sure you get there to eat before 3:00 because by 3:30 or so they start cleaning up. Most of the food was good, depends on what you like ! The prime rib was good but if you like rare, go to that table first. There was a huge variety to choose from. I was impressed by the fresh oysters and the desserts. I had to ask for a spoon and for decaf coffee at the end to accompany my dessert choices. I was dissapointed that I had to place my empty plates on the neighboring (empty) table at first. With so much staff I felt a bit ignored as they were busy wrapping up for the day. All in all it was a unique and very pleasant experience. $$$

I have been a regular at the Brown Palace for 25 years and am beyond disappointed with our most recent experience. We came for Mother’s Day brunch and the service was horrific or should i say non-existent. We did not receive our drinks until 1/2 way through our meal and they came out wrong. We waited for our check for almost 40 minutes after requesting it. Then the check arrived. Almost $500 as the cost was $149 per person. Yes $149 for my daughter’s plate of food. It was outrageously expensive for the food selection and it did not include champagne, even though bottomless mimosas were advertised. We also had to pay for valet parking to top it off, which was also advertised as included. The floor was disgusting and dirty. The grandeur, ambiance and charm of the old Ellyngtons has been completely removed and replaced with stark white and cold finishes. It no longer feels warm or a part of the original historic hotel. I am saddened about our experience and service here today and will unfortunately never go back.

Service was terrible for what you would expect here. Weren’t greeted for a long while after being seated, there was confusion on who our server was, staff was not knowledgeable about the menu. Not worth the price tag.

The service was exceptional (5/5)—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming without being intrusive. The staff really made the visit feel special. The ambiance (4/5) was elegant and relaxed, with a refined atmosphere that’s perfect for a leisurely brunch or a calm, upscale dining experience. But definitely outdated. As for the food (3/5), it was decent but didn’t quite live up to the level set by the service and setting. While presentation was appealing, the flavors felt a bit underwhelming compared to expectations. Overall, Ellyngton’s stands out for its outstanding service and inviting environment, though the food could use a bit more refinement to match the rest of the experience.

We went to Ellyngton's for Easter Brunch as a special treat for the holiday. The experience was truly disappointing. Service was almost non-existent. Once seated, we sat at our table for almost 15 minutes before being approached by a waiter to give our drink order. He provided no information about the meal, and we had to ask specifically for him to explain the brunch buffet set-up. There was no menu provided to indicate the food offerings - only small signs at each food station showing what was being served. The buffet was messy with spilled food, chafing dishes were picked-over and meagerly stocked, food presentation was unappealing, and most of the "hot" items were cold by the time you got back to your table. Plates provided for cold food items/salads were hot (fresh from the dishwasher?). We were approached only once by the "server", about 3/4 through the meal, to see how we were doing. We asked for water (again...never received it after our initial request); and we also requested a coffee refill. Ten minutes later another staff member delivered two waters and an orange juice (which wasn't requested). Judging by others around us, our experience was not unique. We sat for another 10-15 minutes after finishing our meal, and were then presented with the bill for $135/per person (the price never disclosed until then). It was one of the worst holiday meals we have experienced. Therefore, we do NOT recommend Ellington's at the Brown Palace.

We have been to the Brown Palace for Easter Brunch for many years and have always been pleased. This year, we were extremely disappointed. The service was very slow and we were told by our wait person that they were short staffed. The food selection was our biggest disappointment . There were , as an example, no waffles, pancakes or French toast. In addition, there were noticeably less selections of side dishes including only one pasta selection. One of our guests is a vegetarian and there were very few options for her. We were all surprised to see poached eggs with a slice of beef underneath…very strange. In addition, the omelette station was not close to the rest of the buffet tables which made it hard for persons with limited mobility. The price we paid was definitely not reflective of the experience or food that we have enjoyed in the past.
