Ernesto’s butter-hued walls appear to melt in the light from wall sconces and flickering candles. Above lush hardwood paneling, several framed photographs offer a glimpse of Hemingway at his most virile––aggressively writing at his desk, and using a large steak as a body pillow. For a touch of warmth during cool weather, patrons can also retreat outdoors, where a mammoth brick fireplace casts a rich glow on Ernesto’s sleek cobblestone patio.

Great service, food was delicious! Loved the steak bruschetta and house salad. Everything was fresh tasty and artfully presented.

Lovely! Diana was incredibly thoughtful and helpful. She really worked to meet our needs and the food and environment and drinks were perfect for a special night out!

Was looking for a quiet place with cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Sat outside on the patio by the fireplace. Wonderful evening.

Ernesto's is a charming little bistro with delicious cocktails and a sturdy wine list. Since reopening, they have shifted to a more tapas-style of dining. The Tuna Tar-Tar is a must-try!

We were very pleased to get back to Ernesto's, 1st time since pre-Covid. We always enjoy eating on the patio. The menu is smaller now, but some of our favorites remain on it so we'll be back again.

Ernesto's is a hidden little gem tucked away on the outskirts of Soulard! The staff is super friendly but the food and ambiance is what sells the place! Even though they have reduced the size of their menu the food is still scrumptous and wonderful. The flatbread and smashed potatoes are very tasty! I wasn't sure about the figs on the flatbread but they give it so much flavor and make it delicious. The kitchen and appliances the chefs work in is so small I can't even imagine what they would be able to do with a full size kitchen and staff. I do miss the grilled cheese sandwich. When things get back to somewhat normal I hope they bring that back to the menu. The atmosphere of Ernesto's is cozy and quaint whether you're sitting at the bar, outside on the patio or at one of the tables inside. It is the perfect place for date night! You have to give Ernesto's a try, at least once, because you will fall in love with it!

The best social distancing experience we have seen so far. The patio was lovely, service was great, and food and drinks were good. It felt very safe and we will definitely be back soon.
