One of the best Portuguese restaurant in London , is always pleasure eat in this restaurant
Great food and service. Highly recommend it. Portions are generous too. You can always take the left overs home.
Great location, food and service. Soup, Francesinha and Octopus were second to none! Waiter - very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Great service, great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, all making a great overall evening for a special occasion! Thank you Estrela Bar
Very poor customer service. When we arrived & said we have a booking the response was we're full while waving his arms around. They didn't bother to ask our name or check for our reservation. We got "we're full" a few times & we have a wedding in the restaurant. Don't bother booking as they won't honour the booking.
Great authentic food.
The quality and generous portions of first rate "home cooking" were completely up to our expectations. This is our small family's invariable choice when none of us feels like cooking. It's always n excellent choice. I no longer look at the full menu. I often find it quite difficult to choose between the interesting dishes of the day.
We really enjoyed our visit to Estrela Bar. It was quiet on our arrival (Sunday lunchtime) but it soon filled up and is clearly a popular local destination. The restaurant is very pleasant, the service was very good. We enjoyed the food- I had great sardines! The helpings were very generous and the bill was most reasonable. We hope to return.
Poor customer service. Cold dry bacalao balls no help with menu. Had to keep calling waiter over and service was extremely slow. Service was slow and non friendly. Felt like we were a chore to the restaurant.
Really good. Nice food great lively atmosphere.
We love the place!always go there...the only thing is when gets busy to find a table its impossible!but that is a good sign though...food quality super!
Great authentic food with big portions. Really helpful waiting staff. Would definitely recommend
One of the very few places in London where to eat proper fish and seafood without breaking your pockets . Fantastic on a sunny day if you eat outside. Recommended without a doubt
excellent food and service and although we were there a long time never gave the impression they wanted us to leave. would highly recomend this resturant
Big portions! Ordered the house bacalao and couldn't finish the house-cooked potatoes. Friends had some other dishes that needed more seasoning. Guess you have to order the right dish!
Great food and wine. Can be busy sometimes
It is a great restaurant, it is perfect for a coasy dinner with family and friends!
Took my nephew for a pre theatre meal. Lovely food and red wine, great service.
Easy to get to from London Bridge station.
My nephew was really pleased with my choice of restaurant as he has spent the summer in Portugal with his girlfriends family and speaks flaunt Portuguese already.
Said he will return with his girlfriend as her parents always take them to other Portuguese restaurants in and around London.
The food was ok although we were expecting a bit higher quality for the price.
Starters and main courses are in good portion. Food very tasty. Service was good. Desserts not so great, not fresh at all. Overall good experience.
Good service despite the fact the restaurant was full and very busy
Had grilled sea bass which was really fresh and delicious .
Lovely cold bottle of white wine.
Perfect for a hot summer evening.
Excellent value for money
This was my second visit, and the restaurant was just as good as last time. Most of the atmosphere was in the street facing room, especially as Portugal had just won at football.
As there were 6 of us, we were seated in a back room that was quiet and great for conversation.
It is best to go with a few friends as portions are large and it is fun to try out a range of dishes. We over ordered, but did our best as the food was good, especially the clams, monkfish & prawn skewers, sardines and the pork stew. The Vino Verde was great too! Service was welcoming and efficient.
I'd go again. You feel as if you are on holiday In Portugal...as long as you don't look out the window!
Always like the food here, home cooking, nothing pretentious but very tasty and decent sized portions. Can get v busy with parties. Pity you can’t book tables outside. Gets v busy and noisy inside. Waiters do their best and are friendly. Food takes a while when it’s v busy! They need to watch it doesn’t get delivered to the table cold. Otherwise I like it here and will return. Very good value too.
Great place, the food is very good. You have the option of tapas style dining or normally plates. Normally have the tapas and want to try everything
Very authentic, filled with”local” Portuguese and a real home from home for them. Wasn’t too impressed by the food, but great experience
With my parents in town and them being fans of all things Portuguese I decided to try Estrela.
If you like Portuguese food this really is somewhere that must be tried. What you get is great value for money, great atmosphere, a huge menu and possibly the best service you can ever hope for. Our group were probably the only people in there who were not Portuguese! It really did feel like we would leave and enter the streets of Portugal. Sadly not. We booked to have tapas, after seeing the food that had been ordered by other groups we soon changed our minds. We had the skewered meat (1 mixed and 1 beef). Simply amazing!
Can't recommend this place enough and although many say it on this website... we will actually be back. So is true that I have booked for next weekend.
There is a main bar and a restaurant area. Benfica were playing on the tv and this really added to the atmosphere!
If you want a proper experience this is the place to go, value for money is probably the tag line here but it really was a superb experience.
Great meal at Estrella. It was busy in the bar area and the restaurant was busy too. Good food always. Settled on the tapas menu with dishes to share
Tasty food, big portions ,big variety of wine to choose from.
Very friendly and professional staff.
The room was a bit cold.
Excellent services. I love the services, wonderful food
Very good home-style cooking at this very Portuguese restaurant. I have dined here off and on for almost thirty years and never been let down.
Good food and service and excellent value.Very convenient for a break from the cricket at The Oval!
Very good Portuguese food place. Great service and good value for money!
