This restaurant just gets better. We love it and will be back.
The food and service were great; as a venue though it's too noisy, far too many hard surfaces and we had to struggle to hear each other at times. Definitely an 'occasion' restaurant and one worth visiting but with the proviso that you need to concentrate to have a conversation
The tasting menu was well balanced and the food really extremely good. Whilst waiting staff are very keen to please, the service did seem to slow down as the evening went on. We had an 8pm booking and left at 11.45. It's nice to take time over a meal but after 11pm I admit to being impatient for the last 3 courses to show up and was too tired to really enjoy that last bit sadly. Would be great if it could be done in a 3 hour window especially as the food requirements are predictable. Would recommend albeit would tell friends to be prepared for a long wait. Thankyou Etch.
Our special occasion restaurant and it is special. Menu changes regularly so you always get something different and it never disappoints. Staff attentive but not over bearing. Substantial and good range of wines. Food always immaculately presented and packs a serious flavour punch. We will definitely be returning.
Etch consistently hits the mark with excellent food and service. The menu changes monthly to take advantage of seasonal produce, but follows a similar format each time. I normally opt for the 7 course menu, which is perfect for a long late lunch.
The dishes are small and the descriptions simple, but the flavours are fabulous and the cooking and presentation generally flawless.
I keep going back and have always found it to be the best food in Brighton
We had a most enjoyable experience.
Service was first class and very attentive.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
The tasting menu was outstanding albeit opting for anything other than the nine courses would have left you feeling like you had missed out.
The wine pairing option was both interesting and expensive.
Overall a very pleasant and enjoyable lunch.
If you want a treat this is the place to come. Great food. Great staff. Great place
Fabulous food and faultless service. Best place I’ve eaten in Brighton since moving here 7 years ago. Outstanding. Have already booked to go again!
Thoroughly enjoyable. Food lived up to expectations. We will be back.
Met and exceeded expectations - we will return!
At last a restaurant in Brighton which compares to top London dining.
Phenomenal food, great service and an overall brilliant experience
Amazing experience for our 10 year wedding anniversary... what a treat!
Food was out of this world and the service outstanding, yet it still had a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere!
Our whole experience was amazing. The food was sublime, the service was impeccable, attention to detail was faultless, whilst we were made to feel totally comfortable and relaxed.
Spectacular food! We had the 9 course menu and were blown away. Difficult to pick favourite courses, but the duck egg was exceptional, and the rabbit stunning. The staff were also extremely welcoming, approachable and knowledgeable. Great wine list too.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Low key but were always there when you needed anything. Interesting that the menu changes each month and ALL the staff try it, food and wine, so they can speak about it from personal experience. A great way to create overall feeling within which is passed to the customers.
This was the 3rd time I have had a meal at the restaurant, and I have already booked to go again next month. They have really got it right...fantastic food and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. So looking forward to next time!
Fantastic food, very good staff, a very enjoyable food experience, highly recommend :)
Absolutely wonderful evening dinner.
The wine flight was fantastic too. We loved every course! The waiter was attentive, and informative upon each course and wine. Loved every minute of the dinner!
My husband who is a hotel director in charge of 9 hotels worldwidecsaid it was one of the best meals he has ever eaten. My veggie daughter loved her meal. The wines were fantastic and very well explained by sommeliers who clearly love their job. The waitresses were lovely. If we lived in the uk we would be back nearly every month. Roll on next August.
Loved it. Always wows.
Brilliant place. Excellent service. Very atttentive. Delicious food thatbaurprises
I think the experience was enhanced by the wine pairing. Really interesting information from the very knowledgeable somelier. Great experience.
I love this restaurant and can rely on always having the most wonderful meal. Lunch and Dinner have different feels to them and in all honesty lunch is better! We are going back next month!
Lovely environment with pleasant music and very friendly and helpful staff.
And when it comes to food, it is hard to describe with words. Take your time with chewing, there is always a new flavour to surprise your taste buds.
Excellent food and service and a very unique dining experience! Highly recommended, the langoustine course and rabbit were particular favourites of mine. Will be visiting again soon! 😃
A culinary experience, Etch takes dining to another level. Not just a meal but a journey for the palette and the soul. Will be recommending to everyone!
Very good food and service. Great wine list. We had 7-course menus plus two starters. It was in the end too much food for us so we wish there was a 5-course menu option for dinners with the two choices of the higher end 9-course menu at the same price of 65gbp/ea (currently its shellfish and cheese options). I would definitely go again but for lunch which is 5 courses. Great experience, chef and staff. We liked our wine as well. Thank you.
This is the second time my wife and I have dined at Etch and they did not disappoint. We were made to feel very special from the time we arrived till we left 3 hours later. The food was outstanding, all 9 courses were well thought out and the flavours worked so well together. Mr Edwards the chef does an excellent job of taking you on a journey through the courses building all the way and just when you think it can't get any better, it does. We will be back!
This was our third time at Etch, and it was as fantastic as the first two!
Amazing food, wonderful service and a really, really enjoyable evening.
We’ve just booked our fourth visit...
Would have give 5* overall but for was rather noisy and wines pricey - only found 1 x bottle under £30. However, the food was outstanding with interesting combinations and flavours. The personal table service by the main man himself was a great personal touch. Personal flavour highlights at a recent meal were squab pigeon breast with beetroot jus and the slow cooked duck egg.
Fantastic food. Particularly enjoyed the sea trout and the bass. The chocolate desert was to die for.
Our tasting menu did not disappoint. Each course had an elegance and delicate flavours.
The duck egg and sea trout are a must so tasty.
Absolutely delicious would recommend to anyone who loves food!
My only criticism is include vat into the cost of tasting menu, so the diner knows exactly how much he is spending!
Amazing cocktails...wow! Mouth-watering pre-dinner nibbles...wow, wow! That marmite brioche...wow, wow, wow! Seven gorgeous courses - that sea trout with cockle beignets was brilliant. The perfect dinner for our 24th wedding anniversary.
Fantastic delicious meal for 3 with wine pairing - highlight of our Brighton Pride weekend mwah 💋👏🏼
Big fan of tasting menus; taking away the need to choose and being able to taste all the flavours the chefs put together is ideal. First visit on a recommendation and not disappointed. There for Friday lunch, pleasant, open plan decor, with full view of the kitchen which added interest. Great service with each dish introduced by different staff. Delicous combinations of flavours, particluarly enjoyed the amuse bouche, duck egg and cherry bakewell. Highly recommend
Loved the concept of this restaurant: the food choices are put together by the chef so it is lovely to wait for each course to see what arrives. The presentation was fabulous and the food so full of flavours. The service was excellent and felt relaxed although the staff were very attentive. Friendly ambiance and just the right volume of music. Would definitely go back.,
Outstanding. Easily the best restaurant in Brighton/Hove. The food was surprising and delightful, the staff were super-friendly, the experience was intimate, and they made us a special dessert to celebrate our anniversary! My only concern is that, when this place inevitably gets a Michelin Star, it'll be really hard to get a table there, because it'll be the best place within 30 miles. We'll be going again as soon as we can.
Superb food and excellent, unobtrusive service.
Only real criticism was that there was just too much food to really appreciate it properly.
Given that I'm normally a big eater it does speak volumes for the quantity on offer!
Had the nine course option but gave up after about number six and just picked at the remainder.
There's a five course option at lunch which it might be useful to offer for dinner too or maybe have smaller portions?
Delightful food and wine, good service, well informed and entertaining sommelier.
Lovely waiting staff. Inventive menu. ‘Cockle ice-cream’ was a mistake. Lighting gave me a headache but otherwise a very enjoyable experience.
