Figs by Todd English - Beacon Hill
Figs Pizza is most likely like no other pizza you’ve ever had. Don’t be surprised by the large freeform shape—its specifically part of what will go into your overall experience in enjoying this unique meal.
The crust will be so crisp and thin it will be close to brittle. That finely crisped quality is achieved by the special technique used in making the dough and a short cooking time at a very high temperature. The toppings are the finest freshest available and are, as often as possible local produce and other ingredients.
A distinctive quality of a Figs Pizza is that it will cool down quickly. If you take a pizza with you please follow the directions provided by the restaurant when heating it again at home.
Service was poor and pop music was being played so loudly you can’t hear others at the table. Pizza was burnt and it took us getting our jackets and scarves on for the check to be givne
Decent food, poor service on a Saturday night.
Server was kind of robotic.
Figs on Charles street can always be counted on. Both the location and atmosphere add a certain amount of charm. Great for a date or a night out with friends. Pizza choices are unique, but I think anyone could find something on the menu to enjoy. Love this place, frequent it often.
Fabulous service and excellent food! I’d definitely go back!
Best pizza in town. And always wonderful service! Highly recommended.
It was amazing! Super delicious food and more than enough. I love love love Figs and definitely would recommend it to anyone visiting Boston. It’s a little gem!
Food was great but it took over 30 minutes for our waiter to take our food and drink order.
Great pizza, fun place to go. Make reservations in advance!
My meal didn’t come out till my family had eaten their whole pizza. But, it was a fabulous meal.
It was too loud but the food was good
Great food great vibe. Will be back soon! Happy to learn they split pizzas so you can enjoy 2. We had blanco & fig with prosciutto. Delicious! Enjoyed calamari too. Service was fabulous even though it was packed
Figs never disappoints ! Such delicious food and always a great experience !
Fantastic pizza, as always. Slow to get seated despite reservation. Otherwise excellent, will definitely be back... again!
Totally average. Slightly burnt pizza, decent service.
Stepped in before for lunch, and kept coming back after that. Food is amazing, staff is so friendly and the prices are great!
Food was not seasoned well and the, and the pizza tasted pretty mediocre. The crust has a great texture, that was the best part. The focaccia bread also had great texture, but really missing salt. The charred broccoli was really just steamed, so not what I expected.
Second time coming here, first time ordered pasta and was underwhelmed so I decided to give pizza a chance. Pulled chicken pizza had potential to be really tasty, but it seemed as if the sauce was unevenly distributes and very dry for some bites. Definitely needed more moisture or acidity to give it some more life. Crust was delicious though, not too thick and the perfect amount of chew.
Extremely noisy and relatively dark- would not recommend for a date where you’re trying to get to know someone new.
Great food and service. Not fancy. Casual but very good. Can be loud due to small space.
The pizza is really good which is basically why you go to Figs. Nevertheless, we ordered the garlic fries excited to try the flavor and they were just regular frozen fries with no garlic taste at all.
The noise level was too much. Made it impossible to have a conversation. the pizza and the homemade bread are really good.
Cute location on Beacon Hill. Great food, great wine. Good service. Fun location.
It seemed like we waited forever, and certainly well after several other parties that arrived after us, to get served - but only after having to ask the waiter when someone would take our order. Our meals were generally okay, except for my wife’s chicken parm which was absolutely crap. It was half chicken and have breading. The breading was BURNT and the chicken was over cooked and dried out. Unfortunately, we didn’t send it back or complain as our friends were on a tight schedule and that would have delayed them. I should have asked them to take it off the bill but I didn’t. My bad.
We’ve been to Figs both in Beacon Hill and Charlestown many times over the years but this was the absolute worst meal ever there. I guess we will limit any future visits, if there are any, to pizza which has been pretty good in the past.
Carbonara was extremely soupy and the noise level was so loud, we could not hear each other talk. Figs has always been a favorite of ours but the noise level was too much this visit.
The pizza is delicious and it came quickly. The place was so loud, though, that conversation was nearly impossible.
Maybe a nice place to go at 3:00?
We used to love this restaurant but it became way too noisy. Impossible to have a normal conversation there while people around are all shouting. Sad.
Much too loud if you’d like to speak to whoever you’re with! The decoration and ambiance have gone significantly downhill in recent years, so much so that when I saw it along with how loud it was on a Tuesday, I decided it wasn’t even worth the meal there with my friends and went across the street to Toscano instead where we could actually speak to each other. The ambiance does not represent a normal/nice restaurant at all which is quite disappointing and will never make me suggest this restaurant again as a place to meet & dine with friends.
Crust on pizza was delicious! Pizzas were quite large. Beet salad was good but should have been called a salad with beets. A lot more lettuce than beets in the salad. Macaroni Simone and White Chocolate Challah Bread Pudding we’re sublime.
Dinner at Figs is an evening of culinary artistry that makes the almost unbearable noise level tolerable.
Figs on Beacon Hill has great food, especially pizza, and a nice cozy atmosphere with views of Charles Street. The selection of pizza is more than adequate and if you wish to vary up your pizza to include two selections, that is not a problem. One pizza is plenty big enough to share! Unfortunately Figs on Beacon Hill is a little too intimate (crowded) and noisy at times and it is difficult to carry on conversations. Also, the wait staff seems to be covering too many tables at once so service can be slow. If you’re not in a hurry, it is worth the wait. Given it’s limited size, however, I recommend you make a reservation.
Delicious mussels and pizza. I could have made a meal from the bread and olive oil.
Simply perfect. The service superfast!!!
We booked a table for 2 at 7pm last night, having received glowing recommendations for this restaurant so we were excited to try it. We arrived at 6.55pm to be told by a very unfriendly hostess that there would be a 15 minute wait for a table, or we could sit at the bar. We chose to wait for a table, since we had pre-booked it. There was no space to wait inside the restaurant but luckily it was a nice evening so we sat on the bench outside. After 20mins we went in to check on the table to be told she would come get us when it was ready. Eventually at 7.30 (just as we were searching for alternative restaurants in the area) the hostess banged on the window to tell us our table was ready. We felt this was very rude since we had waited so long, the least she could have done was come outside to get us. Anyway, we eventually were seated and had to wait another 5-10mins for menus. We ordered a pizza to share and a side of fries. The fries came out by themselves after about 20mins but we waited 40mins total for the pizza (it eventually came out at 8.20pm). At this point we were starving. We made our feelings known to our server, who to be fair was a lovely friendly lady and quite frankly the only reason for the service getting any star. She apologized to us and arranged for us to have half off the pizza for the wait.
The food was delicious, when it eventually did arrive.
It was super busy for a Tuesday night and as a result was very loud, we could hardly hear each other.
The restrooms are quite grubby and are in stark contrast to the rest of the restaurant.
The hostess' poor manners and the delay in being seated & receiving our food really let this restaurant down for us and we will not be returning, nor will we recommend it to anyone else.
Awesome place, great pizza, noise level a little high
Huuuge pizzas, luckily the lovely waiter stopped us ordering one each! One between 3 would have bern more than enough. Calamari pizza was unusual... I wouldn’t have it again. Asparagus fries starter was to die for.
Nice meal and drinks but it would be more appreciated if I could choose multiple sizes for pizzas such as Small, Medium, and Large.
Best pizza I’ve had. A little loud when the restaurant is full. And it usually is.
I know it is a hot day today, but the temperature inside was unbearable, way too hot. I asked for the manager, wanted to suggest a small fan to provide some air. The manager was not available. Overall great food, but you can only enjoy your food if you can seat comfortably inside the restaurant. A small fan at the end of the hallway would greatly improve the air quality and keep your customers happy. This is the managers job to recognize that and react.
Loved the place and the food . The noice level was pretty bad, I almost couldn’t talk to my mom or hear her. The pizza was delicious.
We got 1/2 pizza - half fig and prosciutto, the other half Red Sox. Both delicious! There is only one size offered. My husband and I had one slice of each at the restaurant plenty for dinner. We took the rest home and had another terrific meal the next day, so great value for two meals for two people.
