Figs by Todd English - Beacon Hill
Figs Pizza is most likely like no other pizza you’ve ever had. Don’t be surprised by the large freeform shape—its specifically part of what will go into your overall experience in enjoying this unique meal.
The crust will be so crisp and thin it will be close to brittle. That finely crisped quality is achieved by the special technique used in making the dough and a short cooking time at a very high temperature. The toppings are the finest freshest available and are, as often as possible local produce and other ingredients.
A distinctive quality of a Figs Pizza is that it will cool down quickly. If you take a pizza with you please follow the directions provided by the restaurant when heating it again at home.
Figs was closed and no one let us know. We were celebrating a birthday, so it would’ve been nice to know, especially cause our reservation was for 8pm.
I was making a trip back home to see my family who I haven’t seen in 2 years due to covid. I made a reservation at Figs months in advance (because my dad loves pizza) and were talking about how excited we were for it. In the pouring rain my dad and I took an Uber and show up to run in the front door of Figs to one lone construction man, restaurant completely closed, telling us they are replacing the oven. When I said I had a reservation at this time he looked beyond perplexed. Given a popular graduation weekend and the terrible weather we weren’t left with many choices to make a plan B. I can’t speak to the food since we didn’t get to try it but I was extremely frustrated that no one at least canceled the reservation or contacted me about it. The worst part is that I got a “seating confirmation” email from Figs a few days later....
Restaurant was closed
Our first time @ Figs and we were completely impressed, although we had already expected to be dazzled by the gourmet pizza...but the servers & just overall buzz of the place was impressive! Our reservation was @8pm, we walked in right ontime and could see our table waiting, amidst the Covid regulations, which was the perfect start to my birthday dinner I enjoyed with my wife.
We went in and were promptly seated. When my wife went to the bathroom she said the bathroom was disgusting. On her way back to the table she noticed the kitchen was disgusting. There was trash overflowing from the barrel and it was so dirty. So I went to the bathroom myself and when I got to the men’s room I had to wait. While I was waiting I had the chance to look at the kitchen and it was as she described it. Someone was in the bathroom and that someone was a female waitress in the men’s room. There was no paper towels in the bathroom just a hand dryer. When the waitress came out I realized that I didn’t hear the hand dryer running so I figured that the waitress did not wash her hands. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.
The service was impeccable and the food is always delicious. Love the Brussels sprouts and the Greek salad was delicious. Daughter had the chicken Parmesan and I enjoyed a few bites of hers. Highly recommend!
Best calamari and awesome pizza!!
Great staff and food, really enjoyed the Pizza and wine selection
This was our first dinner for Spring Break in Boston with the kids and it did not disappoint. With a family of 6, it can be hard to find something that makes everyone happy, but this place was it!
Todd English still has the touch. This place has excellent chow. The brread and olive oil they bring to the table is the same as my first visit to Olives over 40 years ago... magic!
To start, we shared the Old School Tuscan Bolognese (Tagliatelle, Fontina Burro Fusso, Veal Beef and Pork Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan)... rich, creamy, fantastic! For pizza we had the Bronx Bomber (Pepperoni, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Fresh Basil)... perfectly cooked, excellent.
They practiced good Covid table spacing... service from Valentina L. was terrific... laid back, friendly and efficient.
We love Figs!
One of the best restaurants in Boston. Very quaint in Beacon Hill and delicious food every time.
The apps and meals were timed perfectly and our server was super friendly!
The food was just average, nothing like the delicious meals we’ve had at Figs in Charlestown, and the service was terrible! We were completely ignored- not asked how our food was, if we needed beverage refills, and the y even forgot the candle on the dessert when I ask asked them for one five minutes earlier. Saw both waitresses eating and hanging out on their phones instead of taking care of their tables. Would never dine in again. Do yourself a favor and just order takeout pizzas, that’s what they do best.
Had an unpleasant smell when initially arrived and heater was blowing directly on our table, which was a bit unpleasant. Food and service was great!
Food was amazing! Really good service and ambience. Cute place for a date. Good price quality.
We ordered the Carbonara (10/10) and the Red Sox pizza (8/10). Pizza is huge so another extra point!
Food and service were very good. Unfortunately we got a bit jammed into a small table in a high traffic area due to what was likely Covid spacing restrictions. Can’t blame the restaurant for trying to maximize tables available for revenue purposes, especially in Covid times, but still slightly less than ideal.
Other than that though, had a great time.
The plates they brought us were dirty... had pieces of lettuce and cheese all over
Birthday dinner for my husband. Just the two of us. Service was excellent. Food was fast, hot and delicious!!
First time in figs at beacon hill and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The toscan bolognese is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. thank you
Food and service exceptional, place was cold.
Great food at a great value! Pizzas and dishes are large and delicious!
The food was very good and there was a lot of choices. Anyone and everyone could find something to eat. The service was curious and friendly!
just get a pizza do not try sauce dishes. Restaurant is charging a 3./. Welness tax?
Great pizza, soup and spinach salad. We chose 1/2 spicy shrimp and 1/2 Bronx bomber. Service was attentive. Love this place
Food is fantastic but think covid left them short staffed. Pizzas for takeout were in high demand and no service seemed to be left fir two tables at restaurant. Slow and hard to get to but food always great.
I have been dying to try this restaurant and was disappointed that the food was not great at all. Also, it is very congested inside this restaurant. We ordered a pizza and it basically took up the whole table. The male server we had was probably the most pleasant part about the experience. He was very friendly! Also, Charles St. during the holidays is beautiful but I would try another restaurant.
Really good pizza, good beer selection, nice clean environment. I will be back!
Very busy but did a good job of managing. Very small tables ... sat us at a high top with 4 people. I made a reservation so I feel they should’ve prepared better. The high tops there are definitely more suitable for 2 people especially with those very large pizza pans. Great pizza though. 👍🏻
George is an outstanding person. He was very helpful in our food and drink selection; he was very attentive to our needs while we were eating; He is also very personable.
Our time at Figs Beacon Hill was memorable. We will be back soon
Great food and very clean / covid-safe! Great outdoor heat lamps that made November dining outside in Boston feel like spring!
The last time I went to Figs was over 5 years ago and the food this time was somehow even more delicious than I remembered! Everything from the gnocchi pasta dish, to the broccoli side, to the 4 types of pizza my friends and I sampled were fresh, flavorful and tasty! There was a nice outdoor seating area, complete with heat lamps. Overall amazing food and drink selection. I am already looking forward to my next trip to Boston and returning to Figs.
Amazing food, service and location!
Had the bianco flatbread and my daughter had the old style Tuscan bolognese and both were delicious
It was a meh experience. Nothing to rave about, nothing to really complain about
We loved eating here outside! The food was served quickly and very good.
Food was a bit heavy but the service was excellent and the place is nice.
The food is great but we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation.
Great experience, especially for outside dining during COVID.
Super great service and delicious food! Next time I am in Boston, I will definitely be visiting again.
Amazing food and service
