Good overall, food good, prices good, bit loud, kids room is great, service a little slow long lines for drinks and ordering, took a while to get table cleared and for our cake stored out the back to be brought out.

Waited an hour for food, I suggest changing the oil in the fryer, nobody I know likes brown chips, chicken burger bun was burnt, other four meals were very average so we won’t be going back

The service was terrible. From the time we walked in to being served our dinner. We waited for a long time for meals that were as simple as kids nuggets and chips to roast of the day. The dessert ordered with the seniors meal we had to ask for and then waited more than 15 minutes for it to be brought to the table. Waiting for drinks was longer then 10 minutes a there was no enthusiasm coming from the staff.

We are members here we try to eat there as much as we can but sometimes it's hard to get a table and I do understand it gets busy there and when ever I book i do ask if I can get a table where the tv is in the corner I find it a bit quite over there and we do like that but we don't and all ways end up at the table near the kids playground and the toilets and have kids running around us and it's very noisy and yes I have had kids myself but sometimes me and me and my partner would just to be able to eat and have a chat together maybe if kids are running around and screaming maybe the staff could just have a quite word with the parents and let them know that there is other people there to eat as well

Good Morning Justine Sorry to hear you were disappointed with where you were seated. You made a reservation on Saturday 28th March at 2.50pm for a reservation on the same night at 7pm. As you pointed out it can be hard to get a table as we are extremely busy, particularly on Saturday nights where we usually book out a couple days in advance. If you would like to request a certain table or area this needs to be noted at the time of the booking and our staff will try their best to accommodate the request, however, please keep in mind this isn't always possible.

FAQs

Portions at Flying Horse are generally generous and good value, many guests praise large servings and hearty pub-style meals like mixed grills, seafood platters and burgers. A few guests noted the Caesar salad on the seniors menu felt small, so portion size can vary by dish. If you’re sharing a platter or ordering a seniors meal, you’ll usually find it fills you up.

Yes, Flying Horse is very family-friendly and offers accessible features. The venue highlights a state-of-the-art kids play space, a dedicated kids menu and ample parking with front-door access for motorised scooters and wheelchairs. Guests frequently praise the playground and family-friendly seating, though loudness from the play area can be a factor for some tables.

Yes, Flying Horse can work well for a relaxed, casual date night, especially if you enjoy lively bistro dining with good pub-style meals and cocktails. Expect a family-friendly, informal vibe with a busy play area nearby on many nights, so it’s best for couples who don’t need a very quiet, romantic setting. For a quieter evening ask for the side room or an earlier booking on weeknights; service and friendly staff are often praised by guests.

The atmosphere is casual, family-friendly and lively, a friendly pub-bistro vibe with upbeat energy, kids playing in an impressive playground and regular members or live-entertainment nights. Guests repeatedly praise the warm, helpful staff and roomy, clean venue; expect noise at peak times and during family or members’ events.

Casual dress is appropriate, this is a relaxed bistro and family venue. Guests commonly dine in comfortable, informal attire and the venue promotes an easygoing atmosphere.

Yes, contact the venue ahead of arrival to request seating preferences (e.g., away from the play area or near the TV), advise dietary needs or allergies, and confirm cakes or group arrangements. Guests report staff being accommodating (allowing brought-in cakes, adjusting bookings and handling allergies) when notified in advance.

For a quieter experience, midweek lunchtime or an early weekday dinner is best. Guests report excellent weekday lunches and speedy service. If you want a livelier atmosphere, visit on members nights or weekend evenings, but expect it to be busy and noisier then, book ahead for those times.

Absolutely, Flying Horse is very kid-friendly. Guests frequently highlight the state-of-the-art kids play space, kids menu with colouring activities and quick service for families. It’s a great spot for family dinners, though the play area can make the dining room noisy; if you prefer a calmer meal ask for seating away from the playground.

Busiest: members nights, weekend evenings and special events, guests describe packed bistro and lively atmosphere then. Quietest: weekday lunchtimes and early weekday dinners tend to be calmer, with several guests recommending midweek lunch for quicker service and a more relaxed experience.

There’s no formal waiting-list policy listed, but Flying Horse can be busy at peak times (members nights and weekends). Guests report sometimes struggling to get a table and occasional queues, so it’s wise to book ahead for popular evenings; the staff may manage waitlists or seating on arrival during busy periods.

Generally yes, Flying Horse operates seven days a week with brunch and lunch daily and dinner most nights, so it’s typically open on public holidays. Because public-holiday hours or special menus can vary, call ahead to confirm opening times and any changes to service or booking requirements on specific holidays.
